The U tibe mission was scripted with the "package" that included SU25's dropping the "illumination "bombs". Just set a trigger when your Ka 50's enter the area. ( Its like you would call them in, if BS had the facility!) The mission editor allows you to simulate that RW feature! When they drop the illuminators be ready with the off switch on you NVG, or you will be blinded! Its possible, if you set up your cockpit properly, to fly it in darkness. The NVG ( with JuJuMans, NVG mod) is a good tool. More challenging without the air support, but possible. Set the contrast as described in the previous posts. Oh and darken your sim pit:thumbup: I too like the challenge of night missions, in a non-FLIR attack helo! Have fun.

These are interesting. I previously thought 2 Gb on the 6970 would be fine? Now have a look at this video. The maker has a ATI 5870 (single) thats 1024 Mb. How is he running A10 with that?:helpsmilie: Here:- We need to explain how the sim uses Vram? Or I would like to know before I upgrade!!!
-
You could also have a look at the u Tube film here:- http://youtu.be/lUHNKaQPp2I

Agreed. I always feel with the BS = Army With the A10c = Airforce Or with the Black Shark , in addition to being a really good helicopter operative you are more like this;- Where as with the Hog;- and;- Just adjust your tactics accordingly!:D:D Both are simply superb! :D

:)This PSU calculator is useful:- http://www.antec.outervision.com/ An 850W PSU with a moderate o/c should handle a GTX580 or a ATI 6970...All depends which driver manufacturer you like:unsure: and yes, spot on info, GPU= 2 x 1GB = 1 GB or less!!! Unless you go for a GTX 590 (3GB) or ATI 6990 (4GB), then you will need a small power station in your case:music_whistling:

I recently watched a video and the maker had some very interesting comms overlayed. Have a watch and a listen and if you agree with me perhaps ED will add something like this to the next evolution ( Fast Jet sim) I think it adds to the immersion of the sim?:)

Which Russian Aircraft would you like to see in DCS v2.0
Xxx replied to Shinigami's topic in DCS Wishlist
I would like to see a Fast Jet ( that can sumersault! ) OK the Video is the 37...so there is also the 35/33? Isn't that a beaut:thumbup: -
A late entry;- Eset NOD 32 Antivirus. Minimum footprint, maximum protection. First week on these forums, I clicked on a link to a Russian terrain update, for BS and Eset blocked the link and gave me a quarantened virus!! I passes this on to the forum moderators and they removed the offending post within 60 minutes! It was a js/KrypticP.Trojan. Didn't get ant reps for it though:(

Well, it "existed" long enough in the video to impress this old jock! How many combat aircraft can execute those kind of manoeuvers? OK, granted, of limited use in combat, but the question reamins.:music_whistling: Fine, then the SU35. Libya was expected to sign a contract for the purchase of 12 Su-35s by the end of 2010:megalol:

Yes Nvidia Inspector:- http://downloads.guru3d.com/NVIDIA-Inspector-1.94-download-2612.html To the OP, if you are still in the building phase and want an alterative to TH2Go, then the new Nvidia GTX 590 will support 3 monitors with Nvidia "surround". You will require 3 monitors that are the same make (ideally) to prevent any incompatibility. Just ensure you have a suitable PSU. Most reviews state a minimum of 750 Watts, but the card itself will use 340 Watts.:- http://guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-590-review/7 I have come across this ATI V Nvidia question before. ATI announced that it was not supporting further driver development for FSX. I know FSX is no longer in production. However, its a hugely popular flight sim and uses dx9, like DCS uses dx9. From the above information and based upon what I have read elsewhere, my decision to buy a ATI 6970 has been shelved! The options for "surround gaming" on 3 monitors are TH2Go or the GTX 590. Otherwise, remain on a single monitor and Track IR! Regards.

Gentlemen, I present the next DCS Combat Sim:- At 1 minute 50 seconds you will see a "somersault" or one of the smallest loops I have ever seen! I would love to fly this aircraft! It would also "fit" in the geographical area, right alongside the Ka-50 and the A10c! спасибо Regards.

how to set objectґs popping textures distance?
Xxx replied to Terrorvogel's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Terrorvogel, The late loading of textures ( Popping up late), is this not related to the speed of the texture rendering? Could this not be related to your high definition set up? I have seen this when the Memory speed (RAM) and/or the HDD is trying to keep up ( a bottleneck in other words) I also see you have some 7" displays attached as well? Could be thats a lot of display to render? Shoot me down in flames if you think I am talking hogwash!:dunno: Regards. -
Sounds like the program has corrupted. I would reinstall in a separate folder, not "Program Files". There is this link if it helps to explain:- http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb756962.aspx Regards.

Is there a way to get close up of abris or shkval tv view?
Xxx replied to zika1234's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Press Right Ctrl AND Num Pad 0 ( or Insert ) THEN release these keys. THEN press Num pad 2 (no need to hold it down); You then have a close up view of Skhval and Abris. Stable view, fully functional Skhval. Press Num Pad 0 ( Insert) to revert back to cockpit. You can map it into any joystick program. The one I use is Saitek X52 Pro. On the Slider on the Throttle. It works 100%. Even though I prefer to use the Track IR and lean forward, like I guess a RW Kamov pilot would do, its a nice addition to my throttle, which previously had a redundant slider control. Regards. -
Hi Smudge, I was thinking about a TM Warthog, at £280 (Amazon) not cheap. I had a TM Cougar a couple of years ago...there is a dent in the pavement outside where it crash landed. ( The potentiometers failed one by one) The link on the Amazon site points here and there is a warning re Asus and X58 Mobo users with this stick. I have an Asus P6t DeLuxe. I will keep my Saitek X52 Pro. Works for BS and is Plug and Play. I should be able to program all the TM Warthog functions into the X52! Cheers. ( BTW can hear the Typhoons at Leuchars from my loc!)

Is there a way to get close up of abris or shkval tv view?
Xxx replied to zika1234's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
This is an excellent find!:D I have assigned the Precision Slide ( slider on throttle) on my X52 Pro, similar to above. :- Precision Slide 3 Bands 0-30% = Right Ctrl + Num 0 + Num 2 (as advanced command) 30-60% = nothing 60-100 = nothing Result= slide forward and Skhval Abris in close up. Slide back and forward= return to previous view. Skhval and Abris retain full functionality! You may do this another way, however this works on my X52Pro. -
What camp are you in? AP channels or NO AP channels...
Xxx replied to KosPilot's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
How many Real World Ka 50 pilots fly without the Autopilot chanels engaged? Is it not a stability augmentation system which is also used together with the automatic flight modes? Personally my Ka 50 flies better with it on! Being alone in the cockpit I require the aircraft to be as stable as possible, so I can employ the weapons systems.:D -
Correct me if I am wrong, but is the NVG aspect a problem only with a two monitor set up. ie, when the ABRIS and Shkval are on a separate monitor? The triple "surround" of Eyefinity is ok, is it not? A pre configured GUI and sim settings for multi monitor would be welcome though. Its put me off setting up such a system for BS. However this sim is so good I am tempted to do it and mess with the lua's until its spot on! The two "bugs" I can identify are:- 1. The wind direction in the mission planner is reversed. eg mission planner says 270 at 8, when in cockpit the wind is 090 at 8 ( also displayed on the INU as 090 at 8 ) 2. The AI "Traffic" will drive over bridges that have just been blown up! Like they do not "see" that the bridge is no longer there. They also drive "through" stationary vehicles. I intend to buy the A10c disk no matter what. The patch process will address any new issues! Regards.

Speaking of Tir..I managed to do a film with it on this time! Also its a night shooter! Spot the mistakes with the cannon! Anyway it shows, hopefully, what a superb job DCS have done with the sim. No FLIR, TIS, NTS or TADS DVO, KOLS or any other night or LLTV....just plain old NVG, parachute flares and the contrast knob on the Skhval. Bliss! If you want a peek:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUHNKaQPp2I BTW thanks JuJu Man for the NVG mod, and Ricardo's Shark pit 1 and 2. Best Regards.

Colin, the 6990 is way to expensive. I dunno where you are, but over here the card thats got eyefinity thats reasonable is :- http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-186-XF&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=708 I can't afford the monitors, so I am sticking with mono monitor! ( At least NVG works a treat!) Regards.
-
WynnTTr, glad to hear your happy with Eyefinity. What ATI card are you running? Like yourself, I have a 1920 x 1200 (24") which would be my centre monitor. I would get a couple of Ilyama 24" for the side views, but they would be 1920 x 1080, so the lot would be at 5760 x 1080. Copy that re the big single screen. I was thinking of doing the same, but after what you say, this would just mean moving back from the screen and starting to see individual pixels! Still in the quest for that ideal sim pit for these superb DCS titles! Regards.

Hello all, I made this video from an experimental mission, made for practice using the Ka 50 weapons systems! ( Not to mention Data link and wing man recon!) What a unique and superb simulation Black Shark is! Anyway, the film is what it is! Hope more people, who u tube it, like it, buy it, then buy A10c then we can have even more DCS titles  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gK76g1rrP0 Regards.:)

Hi Colin, as a guy who has been "gawping" at all the posts, here and there, about multi monitor set ups, I can answer with some confidence:smilewink: Nope! The 5570 doesn't appear to support triple monitors. Although it has three outputs, HDMI, DVI and VGA I doubt it would. The nearest at the price would be the 5750:- Core Clock: 700MHz - Memory: 512MB GDDR5 - Memory Clock: 4600MHz (Effective) - Memory Bandwidth: 73.6GB/s - Processing Cores: 720 - Bus Type: PCI-Express 2.1 - Display Connectors: 1 Dual-Link DVI-I, 1 HDMI & 1 Analogue - HDCP Capable - DirectX 11 Support - OpenGL 3.2 Support - ATI CrossFireX Ready - ATI Eyefinity Technology - ATI Avivo HD - ATI Stream Technology - Card Dimension 12.6×4×19.6cm cm (HxWxD) - 2yr Warranty My choice would be the 6970 ( 6990 way to expensive and needs a power station to run it ). The bold text above highlights important aspects of the card to consider when thinking in big resolutions. Be aware with 3 monitors, you are asking the GPU to move pixels across three times the range ( 3 x 1920 = 5760 ) which may give some stutters and image quality issues....The reason I am still on the fence as to which set up to go for!:( Hope this helps.

V3.2 . I think thats the latest. I am happy with it!:)

If your wingman wants to send a coordinate to your ABRIS ( or if you want to input coordinates to the ABRIS) it could be done by : Having the coordinates set in the wingmans system he would: 1. Select target type on Data Link Control Panel 2. Select the helicopter flight number on the Data Link Control Panel that is to receive the data( ie you) 3.If there is more than one target of the same type in system memory, he will need to go back and press the target type button on the Data Link Control Panel as many times as required to cyle through all targets of the same type 4. Press the "ПРД/ПАМ" (Send/Memory) button on the Data Link Panel to send the data to the selected flight members (you) The symbology will be on your ABRIS. To use the PVI800 to send Target Point Coordinates, or in put them into your ABRIS: Having already input the coordinates by either typed entry via PVI800 keypad or by Shkval designation: 1. Press the "ОТ" (Target point) push-light button on Navigation Control panel 2. Select the TP ID using the Navigation Control panel keypad. The number will then be displayed on the Navigation Control panel display and the ABRIS will have a blinking marker point as well. 3. Press the desired target type or ingress point push-light button on the Data Link panel (button will light) 4. Select recipient(s) number or all (button will light). 5. Press the "ПРД/ПАМ" (Send/Memory) button (button will light briefly). If you omit step 4 then the coordinates point will be input to your ABRIS. Hope this helps.
