  2. That is what I believe aswell. +1 and -1. Why ''force'' people to spend money on a new theater that they do not like to fly into? I personally hate Nevada desert and I am sure there are other people that dont like it. Fix Black Sea to work on dx11. Not upgrade it with new houses and stuff...just make it work with dx11. I am sure ED will not let us on this... I am sure they will find a way around. After ED releases the tools, many 3rd party devs will produce many theaters quickly. When the new IG engine is finished, then 3rd party devs will acquire the tools and we are going to have many theaters. I believe that a devoted team with the right tools will be able to provide a professionally made theater in a year or less. In my opinion ED should focus on DCS World core, no theaters no modules until they get a clean core without bugs for others (3rd partys) to be able to work on it. Is it possible for a house builder to give an unfinished house to decorators,painters, electricians and others, and also this same builder work on the pool without having the walls the roof and the stairs finished?
  3. For Naval Operations, in your new dx11 engine I wish you implement: 1. Water depth. This will open the ''doors'' for 3rd party devs to produce submarine modules. 2. A module called ''Combined Warships'' will be enough until 3rd party devs come up with a ship simulator module. And some ''more general wishes'': In my opinion at the moment you should change the icon from DCS series on the left... It is quite misleading to people that have no prior contact to DCS world. Writing on it: ''AIR'' is more than ok, we have aircrafts and helis well simulated.:thumbup: ''LAND'' is half baked or not a land combat vehicle simulator, Strategic combat vehicle simulator, yes, but needs improvement.:huh: ''SEA'' combat simulation does not even exist for me.. ships are just some floating AAA and nothing more...oh and when they come in range they just shoot each other until they are dead without any maneuver.:doh: How do you call this ''SEA" combat sim and you paint it on the icon just as easy as ''AIR''? And please, please, please, take out these annoying dollar symbols from your nice icons... They make feal I am on a casino forum with some funny slot machine games...:cry:
  4. I think with dx9, scratches are only possible on 2d cockpits. They cannot or they will not remake them for 6dof cockpits in current dx9 version. (waste of time due to development of the new dx11 engine?). developers can correct me on this. I think they already tried to put the old scratches on the A-10c with no success. (makes me wander if the original people from ED are still there, or they 've just hired a couple of ''moders'' to continue the DCS legacy).
  5. When I read ''playable at acceptable frame rates'' sadly reminds me the recomented system specs of LOMAC back in 2004... Pentium III 2.0 GHz or AMD Athlon 1800MHz Processor 512MB RAM DirectX 128MB Video Card :megalol::lol::doh: LOMAC was ''playable at acceptable frame rates'' only with high end hardware that was available 2-3 years after the game was relised...and even then (and some times even now) passing over towns, or carpet bombing a tank colomn, was like pausing the game to take photographs of the amaizing inviroment...:cry: If ''EDGE'' will bring us in the same situation and force us to wait for 2-3 years for high tech hardware to be available, then for me is a no go...better to keep developing the engine for enother 2-3 years and make it bug free than me, waiting 2-3 years for high tech harware to become available in order to play the sim at ''acceptable frame rates'' that I and most of us think that are trully acceptable. So we need to consider the possibility that instead of loving this new engine when it finaly comes out we actualy going to hate it and start a 5-6 years race of chassing bugs and new high tech hardware ;)
  6. Hi SPAS79, map it us a slider. By doing so you will be using all available travel us ''+'' values from 0% to 100%. If you map it the other way you will be telling the program to use values from -50% to +50% This kind of map is only used for axes that need a center value, like rudder, ailron, elevator.
  7. Turbulence is more noticeable when you fly with the option of ''head shacking'' effect enabled. At the moment, DCS simulates air like it comes from a fan. Always the same direction , always the same speed. If ED could implement a small variation of wind speed and direction over time together with some wind gust, that would be cool.. Of curse there is a dynamic weather option that I have not tried yet, and my statement above maybe wrong.
  8. It was just a rhetorical question toward nomdeplume :smilewink: I support the idea of respecting others people thoughts, even if they are incorrect. I also feel obliged to let them understand their mistake and correct themselfs by giving them the opportunity to choose between right and wrong, truth or lie, by pointing to them the truth and right. If they don't, then I would just walk away and let them continue their ''self destructive'' thinking... There is no reason to ''fight'' for right and truth...Only the obligation to point them out to people that cannot see them. It is a personal decision to follow the right over the wrong and truth over the lie, and I will never ''fight'' against personal decisions. PS my grammar may be a litle bit wrong but I hope you get my point:smilewink:

You have just insulted THE only component in my flight simulator experience that keeps me flying for the last 10 years.:furious: And I bet it will hold even more if I do not break it in the proces of moding it to accept TM hanldles. And no, I do not save money by not buying ''proper flight controls''. I own TM hotas cougar, AND TM worthog, and guess what, they both keep a nice place on my bookshelf (ok, I use worthogs throttle), until I find some spare time and mod my MS ff2 to accept TM handles. Poor plastic? that one made me laugh all day long mate...:megalol: I use and abuse this ''poor plastic thing'' for ten years now, I even spilled half a glass of water on its handle base by mistake, ff motors stuck on one side, I quickly take out power and usb, unscrew and plow with air, screue again and ready to fly... This ''poor plastic''... Many times I thought that was made of PLASTITANIUM :smilewink:... About precission? I fly precise aerobatics (not alone, with a live wingman) I fly precise ILS approaches... I seldom use autopilot to keep my height when I fly 15-20 feet above sea level... things that many people owning high teck flight controls like you do , just dream to accomplice. The only thing that you are correct is the onboard throttle and rudder which are not ''so precise' for the huey but steel VERY ''ok'' for an acceptable flight. You sound like a guy that just bought a new ferrari and he is about to eat dust from an other guy in a ''poor'' honda civic. :blow:

Thanks Winz:thumbup: If it is as easy as you say it is, then you just gave me the best painkiller around :smilewink: I am an electronics eng. and the only think I know about game and grapphics engine programing is that it must be a hell of a dificult and complicated work to emplement... That is why I was so match conserned about it.

  15. I hope I am having a bad one ... I am an ED-holic from lock-on 1.12b until now, and I will continue to be. But we realy need to consider, that many people jumped on our small ''boat'' just after the release of p51 and the heuy, and some of them (if not all) perchased all 6 available modules (one of them still in beta), full price in less than 2-3 moths with a total cost of ~260$.. Now how can you tell this people that their modules are going to be absolete if they do not buy Nevada theatre. On this post: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1309493&postcount=1 They state that EDGE is a rendering engine and it will not cost anything. On the same post they say that black sea map will not work with EDGE and it will not be updated because it is a huge effort. So can anyone from ED give a definite answare to those who spended $$$ for modules (one still in beta) in the past 2-3 months, if they do not buy Nevada? How are you going to update DCS World with dx11 support without Nevada to ''support'' dx11? will you just throw in a ''free'' runway sized dx11 island with a just a runway on it to support DCS World and jettison black sea, forsing people to buy Nevada after all? Or you will just name it DCS EDGE bundled with Nevada theatre and sell it as a module... I believe this kind of anwares have to be addressed first, prior to any others like WHEN its coming out or WHERE are those screenshots etc... Sorry for all this but my friend just left after a big conv. fight we had about how match he spend for MS flight Sim modules (he is a sivilian lover, I call him bus driver) and how match Ive spend over here... and what we get at the end... :cry: time to eject, cause I fill its coming...:music_whistling:

  17. And the big question is: Will it be EDGE or Nevada EDGE ? Nevada will bring us dx11 but please explain to me this: Mister Wags said that DCS World is the base, right? We only pay for modules, right? Nevada will be a theatre module, right? Please explain me how dx9 can coexist with dx11 in the same DCS World. (2 seperate theater of operations) If they cannot coexist, am I going to be forced to buy Nevada to continue public MP and SP with dx11 suport? and dump my ''second neigborhood'' Caucasus? I realy do not like desert theaters but I love the dx11 update and definetly buy more theaters but not Nevada. I realy dnt mind to pay for a new ''graphics engine'' but I hate to be ''forced'' to jettison my ''second neighborhood'' Caucasus and get stuck in a desert with snakes and lizards. (forests have these animals too but they are well hiden):music_whistling: Is the story going to be like this? (FC2 chasing some more square kilometers after BS, and then BS2 and FC3 chasing some more sq.k's after A10C, then they give all the terrein for free and call it DCS world and then the story continues with all of the modules ''forced to chase'' Nevada because of dx11) ? Will it be like this? or I am just having a bad day?:doh:

  19. Hi everyone. There is no fragmentation in the DCS World, at least as you think of it. It just followed the path of MS flight simulator. This is good because: 1. It gives oportunity to developers to produse material that in other sircumstances would have been descarded in the first place. 2. Broadens our comunity without forceing anyone to fly with or against something else that he fills it is not in his particular interest. (noone forces you to fly a SP or MP mission that you do not like)There are MP servers for averyone, SP missions for everyone, why not flying ''objects'' for everyone then?Noone forces you to include a glider in a pinpoint strike mission, how do you force someone that doesnt fly a long range bomber to not be able to take a glider and soar the winds? Jetheads and mudmovers: please be more kind to our new prop:pilotfly: friends..this people come from an older era... Oldtime :pilotfly: please be more kind to us :joystick:, because our litle dirty sicret is that we faithfully whait at least 7 years for a study fighter simulator and when we see others get what they want and quik...we feal :mad: The REAL fragmentation is the ''EDGE'' that will come with Nevada.   21. 31 my first sim experience was Air Raiders on atari 2600 :joystick: I was around 6years old, add 6 years more and EF2000 blow my shocks off, and the story goes on and on...:pilotfly:
  22. Exorcet : ----If you want to "fix" missiles to act a certain way, offer it as an option. Dumbing down the simulation should never be the default. MP should use what is most realistic, not what is most balanced.---- I just explained the reason why in the same situatin a western misile will detonate and a russian will just pass by... I clearly stated in my first few lines that I realy love the simulation that was put on the weapons and I was very hapy about it... the fix is for the kh25MPU and is definetly needed at this point because the missile is completely useless without it...you will clearly see why if you read my post on the other thred... here is for A-A missiles and I will not spam it with explanations for other kind of weapons.
  23. There is huge simulation of FC3 weaponery in general... I could not believe it befor I checked it myself... I am amazed. From a closer look on config\weapons, missiles_data.lua you can clearly see why western misiles are more efective. All western missiles AIM-b,c aim-7 have a detonation fuse value of 15m though all russian missiles have a value of 11m. This value looks like this''KillDistance = 15.0'' and it is located at the end of the simulated values for every weapon (missiles and bombs). This is the reason that in exaxtly the same situation a western missile passing at lets say 14.5m away from the airframe will detonate and bring some damage to it (it will not destroy it complitly) and in the same situation the russian missiles will just fly by.... su27-su33 are huge airframes compared to migs, f16 and others...and this makes the ''missing'' effect even biger. For SP perposes I realy aprisiate this simulated deferenses but for multiplayer its like cheeting. I dont mean to have same values evrywhere in the simulated data to make all missiles equal. I am talking only for this particular value (killdistance), and only in mp. for SP its more than ok for me.   24. I would also like to inform you that by altering config/weapons you will not be able to connect to any online server and you will get a message like ''connection interupted''. The only way to fix this (if you didnt keep a back up) until ED change the values themselves, is to rename the weapons folder eg. ''weapons_moded'' or enything, and then do a game repair from windows-start-EagleDynamics-dcs world- repair installation.... the auto updater will replace your ''missing'' weapons folder with an original coppy downloaded from ED (only 1.5mb) and you will be ready to go online again. For SP you can use your ''fixed'' weapons with no problem...
