The Virtual Red Arrows VFAT 2009 Movie
Frazer replied to 2IAE-CrashBG's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Once again, great movie! Can't wait to see you guys live again! -
Well, the ejection system saved my life pretty (too) often :D If you have a big bank....yeh, then you are doomed but heck, no ejection system can save you (helo or jet) if you are at 30 meters up side down right?
-
Once I upgrade my computer, 3D will be a sure thing! :) What are you system specs Ryleh?
-
Well I thought I was a into flight sims but.....

[27], I think the "Spare Time Pilots" is the squad you are looking for. Very friendly guys and very willing to teach anyone, anything, from newbies till expert. I learned a lot from them! Teamspeak 3 IP: 193.192.58.7 Port: 5430 Password: stpTS3 Mostly flying between 16:00 GMT till 01:00 GMT -
Looks very simular IMO. One of the military contracts of ED maybe? :P Sponsored by Saitek? :joystick: :D

What kind of aircraft do you wan't to see next?
Frazer replied to d0ppler's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
What would make sense: Ka-50 >< AH-64 Su-25 >< A-10 Su-27 >< F-15 Mig-29 >< F-16 And then, driving tanks would "complete" the war scenario. Thing is though, what we need most is a new game engine in my opinion, but that is off topic. -
The mod replaces the following sounds: EngineTV3117.wav EngineTV3117_.wav EngineTV3117In.wav EngineTV3177.wav RotorKa50.wav RotorKA50Dyn.wav RotorKA50Hi.wav RotorKA50Noise.wav So, yes, only the rotors and engine sounds. You can install this mod over other soundmods, as it only replaces the ka-50 sounds.

HokumSounds_v1 Features: - Replaces the Ka-50 rotor and engine sounds. - Sound.cfg has been tweaked. The "HokumSounds" are tested in "DCS: Black Shark 1.0.1c" and can be installed with ModMan 7 or replaced by hand. LockOn FC 1.12 is not 5.1, lets hope FC 2.0 (with the new sound engine) is!

I tried to solve this issue and I couldn't find it, I think this limitation could be one of the "anti cheat" measures of ED. Can someone from ED/testers confirm this?

Thanks takamba! I have got my answer here: Link

Correct flight Path I have a question about the gimbal under the artificial horizon. When flying at high speed the helicopters attitude seems to be slipped to the right if you keep the ball in the middle. What is the reason for this? Note: There was no wind in the mission Examples:

Ka-50/bin/stable/DCS.exe is the one

Awesome sounds! I did some little tuning on the cockpit and rotor sounds. You can download the tweak here: Deleted [EDIT] HokumSounds_v1 Features: - Replaces the Ka-50 rotor and engine sounds. - Sound.cfg has been tweaked. Awesome movie! And damn, you run fast! :D
-
Well, you are free to choose ofcourse. ;)

Well, for lockon there were some explosion fps tweaks though not sure if they work with BS. Still need to test that.
-
Still though, it is the love-hate relationship with LO/DCS that makes the sim so special :D :joystick::helpsmilie::huh::cry::bored::surrender::poster_ban::unsure::weight_lift_2::no_sad::hehe: :drunk: :holiday::pilotfly:

The biggest FPS (CPU) eater are structures, reducing the visible range gives FPS boosts but still, if that city is in range and fully in view the same amount of structures will be calculated. I would like to advice you not to test only one area. If you still demand higher FPS the only solution would be to fly with scenes on medium, or delete structures from the high scenery. I found out what the most ugly and not important buildings are and so you could delete (after backing up) the following structures in Ka-50/bazar/terrain/structures/high BUFET BUFET_crush CAFE CAFE_crush ceh_b ceh_b_crush F_ceh_b ceh_c ceh_c_crush F_ceh_c cinema_b cinema_b_crush dom2c dom2c.LOM domik1a domik1a.LOM garagh-small-a garagh-small-b home2_a home2_a.LOM home2_b home2_b.LOM hotel_c hotel_c_crush F_hotel_c hozdomik_crush hozdomik1 hozdomik2 hozdomik3 kazarma2 korpus_c korpus_c_crush kotelnaya_a kotelnaya_a_crush RESTORAN1 RESTORAN1_crush saray_crush saray-a saray-b saray-c saray-d saray-e saray-f saray-g school_a school_a_crush stolovaya1 tr_budka tr_budka_crush It is a lot of efford for only little FPS increasement, but heck, for most of us every little FPS increasement is welcome. With this tweak you will barely notice any buildings are gone. @jermin, I think you can be a very happy camper when you got 45 fps as your lowest.

First of all, ED developes their sims for future systems (a bit too much if you ask me) There is not even a system that can run Lock On fully smooth (fixed at 60FPS) with all settings on max. It is the same story with Blackshark, so even if you have a system like you do, don't expect it to run perfectly all maxed out. You will have to do some tweaking. I would start with setting your water to medium (it is rendered also under land), put mirrors off, and tweak your visible range. Go to Ka-50/Config/graphics.cfg (open with Notepad) ---------------------- High { near_clip = 0.1; middle_clip = 4; far_clip = 80000; Subjects will be rendered (popup) between the first and second number. structures = {75, 5000}; (all structures + city trees) trees = {2500, 8000}; (trees in hills) dynamic = {300, 8000}; (structure "activity") objects = {5000, 20000}; (military activity) mirage = {2500, 5000}; (civilian activity) surface = {10000, 20000}; (certain surface details like airbases) lights = {75, 20000}; (all sorts of lights) lodMult = 4; (range of object high detail popup) lodAdd = 0; >>>>>>>>>>>> LandLodDistances (LOD = level of detail) { LandDay ( { L01 = 10000; (roads, rivers) L12 = 20000; (distance terrain fades out) } LandNight { L01 = 10000; L12 = 20000; ---------------------- What also helps a little is Ka-50/Config/Producer.cfg ---------------------- ForceFeedbackEnabled = false; ForceTrackIR3ProZoomAxisToXAxis = true; ---------------------- For the ones having less than optimal systems (like me), you can edit Ka-50/Blackshark/data/scripts/options.cfg where you can put water to low (0) and control effects and lights. And for those nasty frame drops during extensive flaring I added a very good flare mod (forgot who but was made by ED) Flare Trail.rar

It will run....after some little trouble shooting. Buy it, you can't go wrong with the upcoming FC 2.0 update.

What is the price on his head? :D

Although 3D isn't new, it is going to be "the next big thing". I have read though, that if the vision of one of your eyes is less than the other it can give headaches as well (just a note). And the eyes certainly must get used to it. Also coming on the market, 3D TVs with which you don't need glasses at all as tiny lenses in the screen give the 3D illusion :)
-
You get pain in the eyes/head because the frames were not optimal. Nowdays you have "3D" screens with 120hz, so 60hz for each eye.....the same as most LCD screens have these days. The glasses which come with the Nvidea package are also much more comfortable then these ELSA glasses.
