Due to the slow internet connection at the airbase, there will be no live streaming..... Tracks and streaming video's will be provided after the event. -
Also most expensive ;) Yes you are good with only the throttle, though you can not buy the throttle separate from the stick......it goes in one package.
-
LOL, never mind, the throttle is the one having the USB :D

Thanks for that link. Now we have a much better impression of the scenery. I must say, the sensation of speed through these mountains is truly sensational! :pilotfly: Still though, I think the colors and atmospheric effects can be improved. Would love to see it with more clouds aswell. Next to that, the bended screens there are not that nice. For the pilot they may seem not that obvious, though a round screen would be better. Wouldn't mind to have this one in my room though :D

With the X52 there goes a cable from the throttle to the stick with a pin connector. The stick is the device which has a USB connector to your PC. I do know that some people use a different stick with the X52's throttle, though I'm not sure how they did that (maybe simply leaving the X52 stick on the side).

I have no doubt that this new simulator is the best one out there, though seeing the picture there i'm quite disappointed. I think you can do much more with 120 computers? This still looks very simmy ;)

I had a cougar 6 years ago. After 3 months the pods got dirty and so I sent it back to TM. After 5 months I still didn't have the cougar back and the computer company gave my money back. This ofcourse is only one experience, though I just wanted to share it. As you can see there are people who have no problems at all with this stick. Learn more about the Cougar stick: http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=8

Here is an interesting CH FighterStick/Pro Throttle and Saitek X52 Review. Note1: They compare it with the X52, not the X52Pro. Note2: Click the little arrow down the text to go to the second page. Hope this helps with your final decision.

First, the X52 has precision issues. These can be solved easily, but its not the way it is supposed to be (strange but true, precision improves by pressing a button all the time). Secondly, the X52 wears out quicker. This has to do with the plastic rings which are replaced with metal ones in the X52Pro. These plastic rings in the original X52 also couse a very annoying friction after about 3 months. Third, the spring force in the X52Pro is a bit stronger. Overall, worth the upgrade (I'm happy I did). About other branches like CH, TM and Logitech, also worth to take a deeper look at. In my opinion though, the X52Pro has the best price/quality balance and is all you really need.

If found this Flightsim Store rather expensive. I would try to find a cheaper place to buy your setup. ps: The X52Pro over the X52 is well worth the money.

It is great fun to fly drunk (you simply don't give a damn). :D For some reason, I prefer rolling right....but I learned it the hard way....my crash counter is pretty much equal to the number of flights. :smilewink:

Just a note from with breaking rotorblades :P I don't agree with preventing hard right turns and right barrels. It is important to know that the chance of rotor collision is bigger with right turns but it is much more important to coöperate cyclic and collective inputs. You can (even with 100% fuel and some payload) give full right cyclic at high speed instantly, once your collective is down. Just my two cents :joystick:

You guys are cool :D

joystick and throttle physical position

Interesting how people find their own solutions to things ;) I'm too lazy to do even that though :D I'm *thinking* of building a pit for about 3 years now......I think it will never come lol. -

Simple but effective. I screwed the HOTAS on a wooden plate, took two chairs, drank two crates of beer, put them on the chairs and there you go. As most tables and chairs have the same hight, you always have the HOTAS in the right position, no matter where you go (just bring the HOTAS plate and two crates of beer, not a big deal :smilewink:). As you can see I use skateboarders pads. This is for two reasons; At first, you can slide it over the chair as you go in for a pull, preventing "arm locks" due to friction. Secondly and may be even more important, save your elbows. Next to protecting your elbows, it also allows you to fly much longer without fatigue. -
The LockOn sound system is simply very buggy......there are more bugs which you may not notice atm. I can tell you 10 more bugs right away, although I don't want to spoil the fun so I better not. :smilewink:

Yea they work correctly in LoFC. I will take a look at BS and see if there is a way to solve this issue.

That shouldn't couse crashes anymore these days.......
