  1. Update 1.2.3 without fix? Am I missing something, or are we left out in the next update?
  2. Hi battguano! What exactly don´t you get working? Beside the FFB bug my G940 behaves as expected. So if I can help you out with any files, let me know. In any case make sure, that you delete any assignments with controllers you don´t intend to use. I had some trouble with my connected XBox360 controller.
  3. Now grounded for over a month. I´m not into software development, but I wonder how hard can it be, to fix something, that worked perfectly before? I bought ALL modules, just to show my support, now please support me :helpsmilie: I would like to take to the skies again, without wondering, what my stick is up to :joystick: (at least, now I know, what this smiley really means!)
  4. I was thinking of the P-51 in that case :music_whistling:
Also in Ruhe das ILS-Setup machen.
ILS Training Kutaisi.miz
  7. With Flaps you alter the profile of the wing. You gain more lift, that´s correct, but nothing is for free and with increased lift comes increased drag and you don´t want that, unless you are in the approach and want to slow down. So flaps enable your aircraft to fly at slower speed, but with higher drag. That´s usefull for take-offs and landings, as runway length doesn't come unlimited. Because drag is not good for your take-off acceleration either, you take an intermediate flap setting. Usually you find that in your airplane manual. In flight you would use flaps only if you have to go really slow for a good reason. in RL commercial flying that would be an ATC instruction. Or if you are a tanker pilot and have some Warthogs to refuel, that fly slower than your minimum "clean" airspeed. In some situations you might use flaps in a turning dog fight, if you need just that little bit of extra turn rate. But that will kill your airspeed rapidly! And as EtherealN mentioned, speed is your cash and life-insurance while flying combat.
  11. Hallo Alf. Ich fürchte, Du wirfst da etwas durcheinander: Elevator = Höhenruder = Pitch Aileron = Querruder = Roll Rudder= Seitenruder = Yaw Nose up/down ist der Pitchtrim, also Höhenruder Left wing/right wing down ist der Rolltrim, also Querruder.
  12. Ok, I sorted it out. I leave this posting, maybe it might help someone else. What I did was simply erase the CA folder under Mods/Tech/ and reinstalled CA. Since my G940 still doesn´t work since the last update, I thought, I would try out CA, but I just don´t get it. When I check the missions, "pilot can control vehicle" is checked and blue force ground force cm is set to "1". I start up the mission, get the briefing, click "fly" and end up in my cockpit. It never gives me the "choose role" window, mentioned in the manual and in mrniels post. Any idea, what I´m doing wrong? I´m on 1.2.2 and even tried the "repair DCS World" function.
  13. Moin Bewolf!
  14. Same here. I think, the trim axis are mixed up and for the G940 guys it´s just more obvious.
  15. Like I mentioned here , I found a similar trim problem with the FC3 aircrafts, haven´t tried the other modules though. So it might be a "World-Problem". It seems, they somehow got the trim axis mixed up. For us G940 it just might be more obvious, as we get direct feedback. Maybe someone can try all the other modules to confirm it as a DCS:W problem? I´m far away from my gaming rig, at the time.. When you try out the keyboard trim commands, they don´t work they way you would expect them either.
  16. The ADI in the F-15 shows "going down", when you go up and vice versa. Left and right work. The trim commands are mixed up as well: RCtrl+; = left RCtrl+, = down RCtrl+/ = up RCtrl+. = right
  17. Yes and the engine starter of Anakin Skywalker´s Podracer, in Episode I, is the light switch of a Fiat Uno, early 90s model.
  18. Thank you Tyger, for that great workshop! I know, I really shouldn´t praise it too much, or next time I won´t get a free slot, because these things are going to be legendary! Being a RL fixed-wing guy, I started with the A-10, but when the X-Mas sale came up, I just couldn´t resist. Always had a special love for helicopters. After about 3h in the Ka-50, of which I spent at least 2h with cockpit fam, I joined Tygers workshop, somewhat apprehensive if I could keep up with the other guys. What can I tell? It was a blast! Tyger is such a great teacher und I just could listen to this guy 24h. He´s doing a very professional job with just the right amount of humor. So after 6! hours of flying I was pretty drained and hit the sack at 3:30 local, but with much more knowledge, confidence and experience than I ever had expected. Now it´s time for a lot of practice! Thank you 74th for sharing your wisdom and I´m looking forward to fly with you guys again! And NO, I won´t descend on my flight leader again, so he get´s kicked from his own server, sorry again for that :music_whistling:
  19. Yup! I had some centering issues, but it looks like it works now. G940 is up and running, trimming works and I didn´t use the profiler. Don´t know if it helps, but I never had any version before 1.1.1.1. I was busy with A-10, but couldn´t resist the holiday discount and wanted to support DCS a little bit. So maybe your problems have to do with some older configuration?
  20. According to the GUI manual it does the following: "Central Position Trimmer Mode. When selected, enables the alternate method of trim system implementation for non-force-feedback joystick devices. Using this mode, the player's control input is unrecognized after the trimmer button is pressed-released, until the controls are returned to a neutral position. This prevents the player from having to quickly return the controls to neutral after pressing-releasing the trimmer button, as is necessary using the default trimmer implementation." Regarding your joystick question: I have the G940 and use it with mixed feelings. What I absolutely love is the trim feeling. Like in a real airplane, you can trim "away the forces", which for me, as a RL pilot, just feels natural. And that´s the only advantage I can see for FFB. With BS2 it doesn´t work too well yet, but I´m working on it. When I trim, the trim point seems to be back of my current stick position. E.g. I trim for 10° nose down, than the stick will stay at 5° ND. But I have BS since two days, so I hope I get this working any time soon. And yes, the G940 comes with pedals.
  21. Just had to post this, haven´t it seen here before: AIRFORCE'S UGLY DUCKLING The Warthog fighter plane wins trust but no beauty contests ... :cry_2: It´s primarily about PJs, but with lots of A-10 footage. Here are the remaining parts: Part 1 THE SKY'S NO LIMIT Part 3 BLADES OF GLORY Part 4 BEHIND THE SCENES Enjoy
  22. Problem seems to be solved, just wanted to add, that there is a similar device from Lian Li, that might be easier to get..
  23. It blew my modifier, but after reconfiguring it, it works as before. Just noticed, my rudder controls are much more responsive. Snaking my way along the centerline.. :joystick:
  24. The main purpose of "getting started up" in civil aviation is to make sure, that ATC has a valid flightplan of your flight. You usually do that call with Delivery. If you just want to start an engine, lets say for maintenance, you usually call Ground. As mentioned above, for VFR flight you don't ask for Start Up at all, because you're not required to have a flight plan. Don't know the exact way it works in military flying though..
  25. @Scratchy: Must have overlooked the thread, or just entered the wrong keywords. Thank you for pointing it out! I'll try the TACAN volume control again, maybe it was only the ILS, I had both tuned at the same time and played around with the audio selector buttons.
