  1. im on briefing, i have all radio information, and i found tacan, going into mission planner, but i cant find ILS data. wheres it? thanks in advance
  2. i have this stick, and its fine, just have to assign the axis in game.
  3. thanks mate. I was going to read through all the pages, but it was late. so let me just ask you this: -is there a different board that supports potentiometers? -with digital axes, can i assign a knob that will control lights? for example, 0% or 100% of intensity only, no potentiometers. -how about 4 position knobs, like PAGE in the auxiliary avionics panel, possible? thanks, gonna read it now
  4. i have a question regarding the USB connector you bought on groovy game gear. can i assign axis to it? for example for a light knob, that controls the intensity, or even if i wanted to make my own throttle stick. also, is there a cheaper alternative to it? thanks in advance
  5. gonna ask here because its really a dumb question, but what's padlock, and what does it do?! is there such thing in real planes? i really dont get it.
  6. daniel, your tuto works, but axis are a mess, like joy_RX should control something else, and i cant figure out. all i managed to figure out is that camera is centered looking to the right side, i move my axis in the 6 degree,s and it doesnt seem to yaw at all, when i yaw my head, camera moves in X axis, when i move my head in Z axis, camera pitches, and when i move my head in Y axis, camera rolls. doesnt do anything other than that.
  7. how do i configure it? i have FTnoIR, ppjoy, everything configured properly, but idk how to configure it. thanks in advance
  8. great, thank you!
  9. dont want to hijack this thread, but where in the manual i can find information about the TAD? wanted to fully understand how it works, everything it can do, and how to communicate to datalinks, and download data into the TAD, whatnot. thanks in advance
  10. thats when you start using modifiers. i had to assign 2 modifiers to make everything fit in my buttons.
  11. no, you'll need to pause and read the manual only during the first flights. actual pilots take a long time to learn everything. we manage to learn in less than a month with the documentation presented to us. I ain't no pro at all, but will try to help a little. 1.if you have trackIR or some sort of head tracking system, you wont have to assign view panning/zooming to your joystick, that saves a lot of buttons. I'd learn all HOTAS functions first, then see what buttons you're gonna use, and assign them. I had a hard time configuring all hotas commands to a 12 button joystick, but it was worth it. 3 position switches, for example the pinky switch, you can assign to a single button through a cycle. i dont know if you can do it through saitek software, i personally use a program called xpadder, that you can program your buttons the way you want. for example, i have one button to cycle flaps, like F>F>Shift+F>Shift+F and then back. saved me using one button to expand, another one to retract. 2. don't you play any instruments? its like that, you have to remember zillions of notes, for different songs, but with practice, it sticks to your head, and you'll remember without even thinking.
  12. ok cool. last question. can i disable the wind on campaign mission files? eg, it wont affect the campaign, and i'll be able to complete it normally?
  13. question about TIR: when you stare to a point other than the center, lets say the battery switch on the right console. will the camera stay still enough to click it with my mouse? I tried both freetrack and facetracknoIR, and it's a bitch to click buttons. you might hold your head as still as possible, but the camera will always move. regardless of filters, curves, deadzones, thats just not useable except if you want it just for panning around, rather than clicking buttons. the deadzone is in the center, rather than where your head stops, and thats frustrating, because the center of the cockpit, is more to the UFC instead of the hud, so if you zoom in a bit, you'll see half the hud only. also, increasing filter parameters will only make your movements smoother - and "laggy'ier" - to a point that if you have too much filter on, you move your head, and ten seconds later, the camera movement reaches the place. that for nothing, because it still wont keep the camera steady at the point your head stands. thats why i ask about track IR. i had too many frustrations with free tracking systems, wich are fun, but not useable. i spent quite a few bucks. broke a microsoft webcam trying to remove the IR filter (now it captures image in green/magenta only!) bought a lame philips cam that has low fps, and not even a mic included (comes with a stupid headset) and then i bought a ps3 eyecam wich im satisfied with fps (30 steady, 640x480) and 4 internal mics. but it doesnt have an adjustable support so i can't place it over my monitor, but only over a flat surface like my desk (lame, because it has to point up to capture my head, and keeps showing my chin instead of my face) lol... that not to mention the clip widh leds i had to make for free track to work (or not). anyways, just to show how much money i ended up wasting with "free" tracking systems. track IR is pretty expensive, specially for me that will have to import it. but if I manage to be sure that it works exactly as I want, then I'll consider buying it. thanks in advance
  14. I have the exact same issue. I disabled wind, and got almost symmetrical loadout, except one side has the flir pod, the other side has another pod thing, but the weight difference shouldnt provoke that much yaw, specially without crosswind. my stick has its own deadzone so it doesnt tilt by itself when its centered, also i pressed ctrl enter in game to make sure it wasnt the cause. I'll try two more things, like inverting the loadout, to see if the plane yaws to the other side, and also completely removing loadout, or loading perfectly symmetrical loadout. will post my results later
  15. yep, its pretty much impossible for me to steer aswell. i added 25 curvature, but only helped a little. will try what you said. anyone knows how to remove wind? it seems to have too much effect on the aircraft.
  16. many questions, but they should be quick ones: -manual says that while MAV is SOI, DMS commands control the reticle. what reticle? i control the mav pointing direction with slew. apparently DMS did nothing. -DMS left short while in TGP does flir auto focus. focus like lenses focus, or it selects a target automatically? i tried, apparentl it did nothing aswell. -DMS left short while in a-a mode says target toggle. dont understand. if i have two enemies in my HUD, it will switch between them? -DMS left long says broadcast SPI. broadcast to who? -DMS right short while in TGP does laser toggle. what does it change from LSS? -TMS forward short stabilizes the hud when soi. i see no difference, what does it do? same thing with MAV ground stabilize and space stabilize. -TMS left resets wcn. whats wcn? -TMS right marks a point. how do i reset marked points? -NWS button in air says lase / ar disconnect. AR like aerial refueling? whats lase? -BOAT switch when MAV soi: black/white symbols doesnt always work. sometimes i press boat aft and it stays black. also, whats force correlate / auto? -CHINA forward while aim-9 as soi: uncage. what does it do? wheres it supposed to be caged to, prior to uncage? how to cage again? thanks in advance!
  17. cant turn NWS off. i'm usually pointing to the side of the runway when im at 70kts. if i turn it off, it becomes almost impossibly to regain centerline. srsly, its almost like a kid driving a car, you go to a side and to the other, but no way to keep center line. perhaps my controller is too sensitive?
  18. thanks! very informative guys, i really appreciate
  19. can someone point me what section on the manual explains better SPI? or even explain, cuz i'm never sure what's my current SPI, if it's the target i defined or what, sometimes there are 3 indications on my hud, idk, confusing. also wanted to know how to slave the mav tracker to my TGP target. the mav camera wont zoom in, so it's pretty useless compared to the TGP imho. thanks in advance
  20. I always have a hard time trying to keep the centerline when taking off. my controller is a thrustmaster t-flight hotas x, i can controll the rudder with stick twist or a boat switch behind the throttle, the two controls have different sensitivities, but i have trouble with any of them. its reall frustrating, such a simple task like taking off often ends up exploding my front gear tire, what will coplicate my landing later. idk what to do to make it better i was thinking perhaps the plane oversteer itself while on the runway?
  21. quick question, so i wont make a new thread for that. When I start the APU, whats a quick indicator to tell that it's fully started? e.g. hornet lights a green lamp
  22. let me jump on the boat and mention that i can't turn on the autopilot aswell. it needs the EAC to be on, or just need the NAV to be aligned?
