Is it even possible to...
aimmaverick replied to aimmaverick's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Your settings are 1600x1200, afx16 and vis. range at medium. Terrain preload is maxed out. But where do you have all the trees? -

Again im just wondering if any PC is capable of such punishment under conditions I wrote. Does anyone posses such PC and what are yours FPS? Nobody didnt post their FPS. Can you stay above 25 at such settings? Cmon folks! -

No no, i just meant you to post your FPS not the whole testing. Doesnt matter which mission just to be intense one. Sorry for missunderstanding. -
So folks after almost 3 years is it possible in Lockon to have all settings maxed out and have stable, no lower than 25 FPS or does such hardware doesnt exist yet? And i mean ALL settings maxed out INCLUDING vis. range, mirrors, heat blur, and water on highest settings AND of course AA at 6x and AF at 16x no FPS mods installed and flying over huge cities like Krasnodar? (1280x1024) The whole testing should me be made in intense campaign not some quick start mission. Does anyone of you posses such rig to run this smoothly ( Evil Scotsman maybe?) or such PC isnt born yet? PS: default scenario should be in SU-25T and 4 ship flight. Please send your benchmark data.

Well so much for fixing the AWACS/EWR stuff. And they said that they fixed this bug, BUT forget to mention it only works for HUMAN aircraft, this was told in fancy way it just proves how sneaky and hypocritical ED is. Shame on you ED!

I have been reading in these forums all over and over again that some people claim that processor is more important than gpu and others which claim that gpu is the most important. So what is it? I personally think that gpu is the most important part and particually its clock speed. I saw comparison on some site which compared several processors in game and the game rocked with fx-55 but improvement with fx-57 was minimal. Just 1 or 2 FPS. So it is my thinking that we will need fx-55 class processor to run everything maxed out together with EXTREME HIGH END graphics card or possibly two. This indicates that to run game smoothly you would first need high end processor which is preraquisite for all other things. And then it will be imperative that you have the absolute best Gpu on the planet. So I think that still gpu is the most important thing to have. You can have exellent processor, but without high end gpu (2) your FPS will still suck with full settings.

F16 in Lock On still planned?

I hope your words will come golden. If they do this than this will be the most all important thing they did from day 1. Go ED go!!! -
Tunguskas shooting down Mavericks?
aimmaverick replied to S77th-GOYA's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Still far less than 160 km. In general i think many missiles have their motor burning time shorter than in RL. The best example is Sidewinder. I saw live fire footages and i can say it had much longer burn time than in Lockon. If you want titles its called Falcon Attacks and 123 FS archer video which you can obtain at Patricks aviation site. (http://www.patricksaviation.com) and others too but i cant remember all names... -

So again at what "profile" should targets fly to achive published Max. range criteria? Maybe mach 10 at 40000 feet? This are just excuses sorry. -

You still havent answered my question. And second part of your post are really just your opinions which doesnt reflect real life. I have never seen mentioned from any source Strela, Osa, Buk... could engage anything else than aircraft or helicopters. Still you first have to detect small and fast target like missile. Cruise missile maybe.I dont know why are we discussing this thing in first place you should have tech specifications for all systems modelled in game. IT is published in many sources, and if it doesnt mention they have anti ARM capability than they DONT. End of discussion. You are just guessing what something can do etc... This is called wishfull thinking. Systems should be modelled according to known data&RL performance not just have fancy 3D models and then say you have many systems involved to promote gameplay and increase sales. Better less systems and these modelled realisticly. The game developers have made their hardware (Russian) more lethal than it really is. If you want lethality and realism than make SAMS having their correct engagment envelopes. (S-300 PMU 1: 150 km, Patriot PAC-2: 160 km) versus current 60-70 km???????????? Another example: Russian flyables have all bigger top speeds than stated, but US planes have smaller??? Su-27 faster than f-15? GMB. You just love your country( nothing wrong about it) and you want that your stuff is better than opfor. -

Developers, why does BUK system have anti-radiation missile capability if in RL cant do it? Only the latest version CAN do it. And how in the Gods name can OSA sam also have this capability? Does this systems have data links to exchange picture with other radars nearby? Even if so, the guidance accuracy of system and missiles it uses is the most important. -

ALL I CAN SAY IS OMFG. LOOKS LIKE REALLY ALL SAMS HAVE THIS CAPABILITY OR JUST MOSTLY RUSSIAN MADE? WHATS YOUR REPLY TO THIS DEVS??? -

aimmaverick replied to S77th-GOYA's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Well the Buk system modelled in Lomac shouldnt intercept anykind of missiles unless it is the most recent version with added anti ARM capability. Obviously you gave it such capability to be more lethal. -

I like this new feature of SAMs i have been missing it from all the beginning. The problem is that after this radar "optimizations" all SAM sites have got this sideeffect capability. Which is now confirmed bug btw. only s-300, Patriot, Tunguska and particuly Tor can do this but not "old" Hawk and Kub sites lol. This here is a simulation not some fancy movie. PS: Is S-300 command post which has been missing from day 1 finnaly in game? -

aimmaverick replied to S77th-GOYA's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
OK. What about Strela shooting down them also? Whats A-10 role gona be? No standoff capability. And its much easier to intercept a missile on sea that on land. Sea doesnt have any geo-obstacles other than radio horizon. Its perfect 3d space. As you said ships have very advanced 3d radars and they detect threats soon enough to react. The problem is quantity of threats heading towards them at speed from different direction or altitude. Whilst AGM appear all the sudden this gives you much less time to react we agree? -
Tunguskas shooting down Mavericks?
aimmaverick replied to S77th-GOYA's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
True, but Anti-ship missiles are anything but small while AGM are and also fast and have short flying time combined with clear practical reasons- AD site cannot know which missile is aimed at them and which is friendly. They are meant for ARMs not AGMs. -
Tunguskas shooting down Mavericks?
aimmaverick replied to S77th-GOYA's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Im just wondering what chance of survival A-10 has right now... Thats right zero. Before, you could destroy Strela or even Tunguska with Maverick now thats not possible?!? Strela shooting down AGM? Thats f..... bullshit. I know modern AD system have anti-AGM capability, but Strela is anything but modern. How on earth would it destroy missile if it doesnt have radar? With EO or IR system? And target is very small and fast? 0% chance. Serbs had plenty Strelas, AAA etc... but i never heard they managed to shoot down Maverick class missiles. If this was the case flying A-10 would be suicidal, it would have no defense against short range sams. To bad that they implemented this feature because otherwise patch is great. -
Seriously, this needs to be fixed
aimmaverick replied to D-Scythe's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yep thats very sad but unfortinatly true story about how dumb Lomac AI is. Its even more sad because the developers are behaving completely ignorant to such painstaking and serious problems and invest all the time in new project but AI is weak and campaigns are almost unplayable. There is no neeed for dynamic campaign unti AI is wastly improved. -
Definetly you would need dual 7800gtx to enyoj the game in its full glory. Its just how demanding this game is. And the ram is not much important here. 1 or 2 Gigs should be more than enough. I would give focus also on rising Cpu power the game demands because of AFM and other complex computations it uses and willl be using in future.

This is a desperate request to ED team. I would like to see overhauled more functioning cockpits with adjustable ILS frequencies, fully working PACS, navigational switches, adjustable settings to fuel gauges and in general more features. IM NOT ASKING FOR FULLY CLICKABLE PITS NOT EVEN FOR ANY MOUSE INTERFECTION WSE. I know this would cost to much time and it isnt wise to do. All im asking is, if you guys could make in version 1.2 simple animated switches as seen on A-10 ( when toggling master arm on/off). Personally i think that A-10 is a plane which would have the most benefit from this. Not being able to pull big yelow switches which scream into your face to put out fire are simply not something that this kind of simulation deserve. Please ED dont focus just entirely on new projects but improve models already in game hence its strange to see flyable planes with one having fully functioning pits, others have just basic working switches. And in the same game. So ED please would you take that into account and spend some time also on "old" planes?

EVIL-SCOTSMAN do you also have mirrors set to HIGH and what are your FPS when flying over very large cities with all settings maxed out? Do you ever get under 25FPS?
