&*@!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear I can get everything perfect, move right up into position, nice and slow... and then right as I connect it's like I automatically speed up suddenly. And with the TM HOTAS, I'm much more in control than I was with my old Saitek. Youtube makes it look so easy.

BFT03 - Fly Traffic Pattern Updated
kharne replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in User Created Missions General
Can you explain what is updated about the Batumi map? Just curious. Thanks for the missions! -
I guess my AoA must be wrong, because I CANNOT get this to work. I always think everything is fine, and then my wingman says "wheels up" and aborts the landing. 150 also seems slow, since the AI seems to be approaching at 160-170 when I watch him land. Can you post a track?

All I know is that I'd pay $50 for an Afghanistan or Iraq module for DCS A10, and so would everyone that I play with. New map, new missions and a campaign... I don't care who develops it!

HawgTouch - Free Panels & Gauges for A-10C

Does anyone have a profile they can share that has the radio switches already in place? I'd like to add a panel with them, but before I put the time into I figured I would ask :) Thanks! -

Has anyone setup the MFCD Day/Night/Off button in Hawgtouch? -
I have to agree here. Yes, I understand that a flight sim can't look like Battlefield 3 (yet!) or Arma 2 due to the MUCH larger scale, but the explosions really do look outdated. DCS A10 is still an incredible sim, and it's my favorite flight/combat simulator so far. But a *little* more eye candy when we let lose with the GAU-8 or when a bomb takes out a building would go a long way.

HawgTouch - Free Panels & Gauges for A-10C

Bump for help! Does anyone have an idea why my gauges wouldn't work on my second monitor? It's not the profile... I'm using several which other people have confirmed as working, and I've also tried a working main-monitor profile and simply moving them to the second monitor. It's like it can't send the information to my second monitor or something. EDIT: GOT IT! I wasn't using an Aero Theme in Windows 7. I was reading about how it affects FPS rates, and decided to change it and try HawgTouch. Worked like a charm! Sure wish I had thought about that earlier. Shame I wasted a while editing my profiles because I thought I was doing something wrong in them! Now to fill in the blank space on my second monitor.... -
Flight Qualifications Campaign
kharne replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Well I think the problem with my heading was that I must not have made the turn quick enough, and triggered the next waypoint. Just did the third mission with no problems on the flight. Twice now I've had "30 seconds to shut down" and then nothing happens. Is there something I'm doing wrong if it never tells me how I did? I shut down everything and waited, but nothing happens. -

Weird, I have no idea why. Can you just rename the file to a .miz extension and try it? -

1) I'm not sure where you're finding .man files, but the links on the first post of this thread have a download button on the left, underneath the A10 and the mission name. Then "save as" in your DCS A10 directory. The first mission is BFT01-Ground_Handling_V1.2.miz 2) If you don't have a Warthog HOTAS, you can't just use the throttle because there's no way to move it from "Off" to "idle" like on the real thing. You should be using "RightAlt + Home" to start the left engine, and "RightCtl + Home" to start the right engine. It's not instant, but it only takes a few seconds before you'll hear it start to spool. Good luck! -

I got the same problem that was mentioned earlier in this thread, in Mission 3. In what I think is the downwind leg, I am flying heading 300. I am never instructed to do anything else, and if I try to turn left and set up an approach, I am told to stay on heading 300. After 20 miles I figured something must be wrong... -
HawgTouch - Free Panels & Gauges for A-10C
kharne replied to ClearDark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm using Windows 7, i5 2500k, 8 GB RAM, GTX 570. My main monitor is a HP 24" and I have a 19" BenQ to the right for my MFCD's. The MFCD's work fine, and I did the Caution Panel last night with no problem. All the gauges/instruments (like in the 1.5 features file) work IF they start on my main display. But If I drag them to the right monitor, they don't display any data. If I change the x/y to put them on the right monitor at startup, the gauges don't appear when I load the .xml file. -

Can someone here chime and explain this to me? I used someone's profile and put the Caution Panel on my second monitor, and it works fine. Their original file had gauges to the right of it, and the entire thing was on my main display. When I moved the entire panel to my second monitor by changing the X/Y co-ordinates, I lost the gauges (just black space where they were), presumably because I didn't change each gauge with it. But when I tried moving a few gauges to the new space, they still don't show up. Is there something I have to do to get to appear on my second monitor? I can only get gauges to work on my main display. I found someone else's profile that had the gauges on my second monitor by default, and they don't work either. Just white or black spaces where they should be. -
Wait, your girlfriend plays DCS A10? I've met a lot of girls who like games, but I can't think of a single one who plays flight sims.

Sabre, I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the hard work! I just got back into the A10 after a pretty long break, and had a blast doing the first mission. Almost failed... forgot about that pinky switch on my Warthog HOTAS. I loved the airport traffic in the first mission. Looking forward to trying the rest! -
HawgTouch - Free Panels & Gauges for A-10C

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, but I can't get any gauges to show up on my second monitor. Right now I have the MFCD's on my second monitor. I have the UFD as well, but I haven't programmed it yet so it doesn't really do anything. I wanted to just add one gauge to see how it worked. I tried cutting/pasting one gauge from the features file, but it didn't appear. Here's my profile with the MFCD's. I renamed to a txt file because it wouldn't let me attach an XML. Can you just add one gauge to me, below the right MFCD? Something like the flaps gauge or fan speed or anything. Then I should be able to customize it from there (I hope!) MFCD Display.txt -

And while I'm asking questions, how do I export data to the gauges? I have a second monitor with the Flight Instruments from HawgTouch, but don't understand what I need to change to give it the data. I have Data Export Enabled. Any help would be appreciated. Edit: It works fine on my main display. But the gauges on my second monitor don't do anything. -
HawgTouch - Free Panels & Gauges for A-10C
kharne replied to ClearDark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I've been using HawgTouch for my MFCD's, exported to my second monitor. They work great! I was thinking about adding a few gauges since I have some space under the MFCD's. Is it possible to export just a certain gauge (like Flaps), or do you need to add the entire pack? I tried adding one gauge in my existing profile, but it doesn't appear. I loaded the 1.5 features file, and saw that they are bunched together as "Flight Inst" and "Engine Inst" and that each set moves together. Thanks! -
I guess there's no fix for this year? I thought it was a problem with my HOTAS Slew, and remapped it to my Warthog HOTAS Trim (using the paddle as a modifier). Same problems... constantly have to "re-start" the slew. Somewhat frustrating after dropping $400 on my TM Warthog, and finding out the keyboard seems smoother for slewing my TGP and Mavericks. :joystick: Side note... the TM Warthog is still amazing! Wish I had bought one earlier. A co-worker got one (from his wife for Christmas... lucky bastard) and she said she didn't think it was worth the money. I told him my girlfriend said I would have been better off spending the money on her. He made a good point... "Our women have no concept of tank killing."

Smoky - What CPU do you have? Eddie - How much memory does your GTX 570 have? I'm about to upgrade :)
-
I've been playing DCS A10 for a few months now, but it's time for an upgrade. I currently have a Core 2 Duo E8500, 4 GB DDR2 RAM, and GTX 260. I play at 1900x1200, however I recently added a second monitor that displays my left and right MFCD's (at about 1280x1024). Gameplay is decent on medium settings, but it could certainly be better. With all the new PC games coming out, I am anxious to upgrade. I'm learning towards: i5 2500k 8 GB RAM GTX 560 or 580 My 3 big questions are: 1) Would an i7 2600k be worth $100 more than the 2500k? *Most* gaming benchmarks don't seem much higher. 2) Is 8GB of RAM enough for DCS A10, or will it benefit from 12GB? Memory is pretty cheap at the moment. 3) Can I run at 1900x1200 on high with a single GTX card, and if so, what is the minimum about of memory I should get? Is 2GB enough, or do I need a 3GB card if I'm not doing SLI? I want good performance, but I also don't want to waste money by going overboard. Thanks for your input :)

I never realized that. I guess I thought that Steam would sort of replace it, since they have their own keys and account system.
-
I thought that since Steam keeps track of what you have purchased, and since no other games I have use them, it wouldn't need activations. That's what happens when you assume though... Thanks for clearing it up :)
-
Do I have this right? Steam is only 32 bit, and if you buy it on Steam you don't have activations. And you can still download the 64 bit client and use your Steam key. Thanks :)
