The counter-intuitive thing for me is how even at high speeds it feels like the SU-25 just wants to float down... I have to give it a fairly high angle (5+) to keep level... am I just imagining it? Also, Youtube is weirdly empty of decent SU-25 tutorial vids (the eagledcs channel simply repeats the slow and boring in-game voiceover tutorial)... I've learned how to fire SEAD but not Vikhrs (which I imagine isn't too different to the Shark). Is there a good text-resource? Like, "Shift+L, then Right Alt+Home... etc.." but for weapon and navigation and so on?

Hiya, I haven't flown since 1.1.1.0 (A10) and thought I'd come back and check out the 'stamg and refamiliarise myself with the shark and hog. So I uninstalled both A10 and the KA50 and forgot to also delete save files. Installed latest DCS world from the download page. Grabbed the a10 module and installed that next. I got confused with which BS2 file I needed, it stated to grab the ugrade if already installed, but I'd deleted everything so I grabbed the 455Mb version which I brlieve was the full versiom(the other version is a few meg different). Then I loaded up DCS World (absolutely love the nature of it as a hub, highly approve) and started the stang. Activation key worked fine. Tried BS2 next, didn't recognise my activation key. Once I'd hit exit thiugh it let me into the game but I wasn't in the cockpit. Tried A10 next and it asked me for the BS2 key! Now after several PC restarts, I cannot load A10 and BS2 as it keeps stopping here. Do I uninstall BS2 (and if so, how) and try the BS2 upgrade module?

I'm a hardcore DCS pilot, but even I was stunned by TKOH, it's one of the finest flight games out thanks to the core narrative and just how involved it gets you with the gameplay. Finally got it working! For some reason, Singleplayer worked straight away. Multi still doesn't display it, but the multi.exe path looks like this ""D:\Games\DCS A-10C\DCS A-10C\bin\DCS.exe" --net-mode gui" would the modifiers on the end be a problem? Anyway, was just incredible to be able to use the iPad while flying, it's the closest I'll now get to a simpit. The suggested size of 300 by 300 was too small and background movement appeared on all sides so I'll crank the size slightly. Also, occasionally one of the MFCDs will freeze and when I look at my iPad it's dropped the wifi signal.. a quick restart of the app and reconnecting to wifi fixes that.

Deleted my message trail as not fair on boarder that my stupidity might put off potential customers. Am communicating with boarder by email, will edit this post with full issue and resolution once it's all fixed. Can't wait, this app was the main reason I bought my iPad!

I read those threads after I'd ordered it and felt a bit sick at the thought of having bought a dud product. Very pleased to say I was wrong to worry! It's been plug and play since day one and continues to perform well. It deals with being connected and disconnected from the USB frequently and it's the greatest stick I've ever used. Recently, my trim toggle has stopped working, but I think that's down to my in-game settings (just mentioning it in-case it sparks anything with anyone else). Just make sure you update the firmware and software for it straight away!

Is there any progress on this? I just love my BS bound manual and would love to add the A10 to it.

The instructions for operating it need to be an awful lot clearer. As in... what order to do things, click what and when before what. So do I start bonjour before searching for servers? Just now my iPad showed a green light when I used bonjour to connect, but my iControl server exe shows no connections. Now, I can't find any servers at all, still have no connections in the server exe and so on. Just a little confusing mate, as much as I loved working out the complexities of the A10, when it comes to homebrew stuff like this I'm completely hopeless.

Huge thanks to JimMack and Groove, my bound manual arrived in the post today! All flights into Tasmania have been delayed due to volcanic ash in the atmoshpere so that kept it away for a while but here it is... in perfect condition. Great response, thank you gents :)

Thanks for the fix! I was wondering what the hell was wrong with my machine until I read this thread. Finally get to finish my rockets/GAU tutorial! Now if only there was a fix for the start where if you don't press pause/break quick enough the tutorial won't begin. Is there a fix for that?

I run an Asus P6T and so far it works fine. I run my rig through a pretty hefty UPS, I wonder if that's helping. Nice to know that if it bricks the Thrustmaster support is A1. Glad I didn't sell my X52 like I'd planned.

Hi everyone, I purchased the bound KA-50 flight manual from kengray.co some time ago. I've sent numerous emails that haven't been responded to. At the start, I had to prompt them (with an email to bev@fighter-collection) to accept my paypal payment. I thought I'd check these forums for feedback and can see that Groove (community manager) has that site as a link in his sig. This alone gives me a lot more confidence in my purchase. If anyone works for kengray.co or can tell me anything about it, I'd really appreciate some info. I sent a rather heated email this morning because my patience has all but worn out... but seeing that Groove is involved has calmed me down. I'm hoping this thread will elicit the response that my emails have not. Cheers :) Murray

The biggest problem I have is seeing any of the targets at all! I've replayed this mission many times and the only thing I can spot is a tank on a wide open main road. Is everyone scanning using just the shkval? I've spent hours peering through that thing and can't see shit :( I think I generally have a problem though.. I joined a multiplayer server last night and couldn't find the battle, even using the mission briefing map... no-one to be seen.. yet the top of the screen was littered with kill messages. Sadly, no-one was typing back when I asked. Probably need to learn how to handle wingmen as well, I can't see a 'recon' option when I bring up the comms menu. Has anyone ever written a guide to the in-game missions? That person would earn a lot of fans!

Absolutely love RoF, it's that immediacy of dogfighting and the intensely pretty and super-massive draw distance. Coming down through a cloud completely disoriented with water streaming over your goggles then bouncing a plane below is a truly magic feeling. I'm sure he's been mentioned in this thread already, but I cannot recommend my friend Requiem10NS's youtube channel highly enough. He'll teach you all the tricks of the WWI pilot's trade. I'd link his youtube channel but it's blocked from work. (I knew him from bf2 and had no idea he'd become such an ace. Went flying with him a few times and he led me to my first multiplayer kills). I too would love a two-seater, working as a unit with another human being in the one craft would be a truly sublime sim experience.

I'm getting to my point, bear with me; I remember buying Black Shark on release then returning it as I had no idea what was going on. Now, I've rediscovered it and am ridiculously addicted. That and A-10 (and LockOn Platinum which I purchased today) are, in addition to ArmA 2 and Rise of Flight, a real happy place for me to visit every day! I also never thought I'd like Jet sims over my beautiful planes in Rise of Flight... I'd tried IL-2 1946, IL CoD (which still doesn't run properly for me) and Wings of Prey.. they were okay but didn't match the freedom of a biplane dogfight with TrackIR. But now, I do enjoy Jet sims courtesy of A-10C. One thing I thought I'd DEFINITELY never enjoy was a helicopter sim. After trying a chopper out in FSX I just wasn't convinced that they were enjoyable. But now with BlackShark I'm completely hooked. My DCS wish would be a new combat chopper, they are just ridiculously satisfying to fly... especially when combined with weaponry... and a two-seater chopper would be the bomb. Imagine co-op with that?! Get to know both seats really well then take to the skies with a friend. But that isn't going to happen I'm sure... there's so many jets out there that it will inevitably be a jet that's modelled next and here is my actual DCS wish... the F18. I don't know what the variations are, but that is the jet of my youth... in the 80's and early 90's all we knew about the tools or combat were M16 rifles (or machine guns as we called them) and the superb F-18.
