  1. Just wondering if in a real world scenario why wouldn't you load 3 AGM 65's everytime rather than 1 or 2? I know it would be specific to the mission but loading 1 on a rail seems plain silly. Is it a cost issue or just what's available? Also... would it be unheard of to load up 6 AGMs and 10 GBU 10's for tank plinking? What's everyone's prefered weapon mix?
  2. Thanks for the advice will try that in the future.
  3. Somewhat off topic but when advancing tanks (Razor and Elm I think) how do you know when to order them to move? I destroyed everything JTAC had to offer but still failed because a group I told to advance didn't make it.
  4. I use RagTags Saitek profile that uses the Pinky Shift and TMS/DMS when TGP is SOI. Highly recommend the profile, very well done. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=58795&highlight=.pr0 Opps, misunderstood. I use TrackIR which again I highly recommend!
  5. Thanks Eddie. Did the google thing, guess I was doing it right. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cpus/2011/01/07/how-to-overclock-the-intel-core-i5-2500k/5 Seems strange that it doesn't show up in Windows System properties.
  6. The new MSI mobo has that new BIOS thingy that's all graphical and I much prefered the old style for over-clock, hell even the jumper pins were easier. How are you guys overclocking? Do you overclock in the BIOS or do you use windows software? The BIOS shows I'm overlocking but Windows properties still indicate 3.3 GHz although I've set it for 4.2 Ghz. And this new Intel turbo indicator jumps up and down although its disabled. So what settings do you change and where?
  7. I bit the bullet and damn, it was worth it. I set the C2 duo at stock speed and was getting an average of 15-20 FPS. Overclocked at 3.8GHz I was getting 25-30 FPS in FRAPS. I haven't even overclocked the Core i5 yet and I'm seeing 60-70 FPS. Thanks for everyone's input, much appreciated.
  8. Cool thanks Eddie, odd that you went with the Trooper and not Aces High. I guess my Core 2 duo and old motherboard are the bottleneck, the GTX 470 is pretty new but I only get around 30 fps.
  9. I've been thinking about upgrading to an i5 (Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz Quad-Core Unlocked) from a Core 2 Duo overclocked at 3.8 Ghz. My understanding is that A-10 doesn't take advantage of multicores. Just wondering if the newer technology (FSB and Memory) would increase framerates or would this just be a push as I wouldn't be upgrading video cards. Has anyone made the leap and noticed improvement?
  10. Thanks Aldega I'll give it a go.
  11. No, I do read them especially with all the other flight chatter and wingman communication.
  12. I've noticed sometimes I hit the right HOTAS combination to extend the radio log (JTAC, ATC,Wingman) which fills the left side of my screen. If I contact JTAC it usually clears when he responds but sometimes I can't get it to go away which makes it difficult to see where I'm going for the landing. Is there a key to hide this or shorten the list back to what it was?
  13. Thank you, I've been meaning to get around to the autolase functions but kept forgetting to look it up until I was ready to drop one. Nice job!
  14. Come on man! fix that link!
  15. Do you remove or uninstall the previous version first? Do you lose your Pilot log?
  16. The Easy Quick Training missions are excellent, you can do Guns, GBU, Mavs, Wingman, and JTAC training and you skip the startup process. Missions \ Quick Start \ EN \ Easy East Georgia Spring.miz
  17. You forgot the ham and cheese sandwich and cup holder!
  18. Thanks EtheralN, I'll try the buttons. Coolie hat down only seems to work when both MFDs are active.
  19. When I realized ED wasn't an actual person or programmer but rather Eagle Dynamics.
  20. While flying a campaign mission my right MFD was taken out and damaged. I have inadverntly swapped MFDs while they were both active in the past, is it possible to use one MFD for and switch them if one takes damage?
  21. I've found that if you enable Nose Wheel Steering prior to starting the engines the hawg moves around far less.
  22. I wonder, is there a good way to counter AAA or SAMs? Some Sims had AGM-88 HARMS. Is there something to quickly lock on to a ground target that is tracking you? Does LSS do that or is it only used by friendlies?
  23. There might be some gimicky software that "extends" the memory but it's no replacement for 64 bit. "By definition, a 32-bit processor uses 32 bits to refer to the location of each byte of memory. 2^32 = 4.2 billion, which means a memory address that's 32 bits long can only refer to 4.2 billion unique locations (i.e. 4 GB)."
  24. Thanks, can't wait to try it!
