  1. I just installed DCS Worlds for the first time. Also installed Combined Arms for the first time. When I ran Combined Arms after install. I don't see an option to play Combined Arms. It only gave me the option to launch the Su-25 as a Campaign. How do I actually play with controlling tanks, sams, etc? I also own A-10c but I haven't installed it yet, was going to do that next. Wanted to play with Combined Arms a bit first.
  2. I find this statement interesting. Considering Eagle Dynamic's A-10 is on STEAM for over a year now and "hordes of MW3 teenagers" aren't flooding A-10's servers. Probably because they are playing MW3. Besides, the DCS World is far too realistic and professional for them. I personally know adults who are on STEAM who have never heard of DSC World, but would probably be impressed and interested if they found it on STEAM. Or they could wait for months/years till they hear about it word of mouth. They nor I are interested in venturing out in the search world for the latest and greatest. Way too many sites to search or keep up with. We'll just stick with one company that has a huge gaming library and user base thats all tied to your user name and password. Convenience is why I use STEAM and is why I even heard of great games such as Eagle Dynamic's A-10.
  3. As BHawthorne has just mentioned, STEAM does have a nice growing Free-To-Play collection and I seriously doubt these companies paid an arm and a leg to get it on there. I've personally witnessed a few of the Free-To-Play titles explode in population when they were added to STEAM. "Tribes Ascend" for example added 7 thousand players online average just from adding itself to the STEAM library in the past week. It was already Free-To-Play. As for the Slow Patch Updating to A-10 last year. I'd like to add that I had contacted STEAM a LONG time ago about this issue, and they said patches are approved when the patch is sent to them by the Publisher or Developer. If they don't receive it, they don't add it. Even if its added on the Developer's homepage. With that being said, maybe Eagle Dynamics had stop supporting A-10 on STEAM for whatever reason. I seriously doubt STEAM would deliberately stop supporting or delay a patch for a fine product such as A-10. Besides, how else will Eagle Dynamic market DCS World if they haven't started already? I haven't seen it really being advertised, anywhere. Word of Mouth? Internet Searches? That could take months or even years to explode in population. The only thing I really want to happen is when Combined Arms is released I will find hundreds of servers, most of them full, lots of professional simers all in DCS World. That would be awesome.
  4. Im not sure, I didn't find anything about that on their site or wiki. I guess one way to find out is seeing if another game that you know of that uses the 64bit DRM is on STEAM. The alternative is to contact STEAM.
  5. Im sure Im not alone when I say that I discovered Eagle Dynamics and A-10c through STEAM. I think it would be great if Eagle Dynamics added their DCS World to the Steam library. This could open up their titles much better to the STEAM community. Especially with the upcoming "Combined Arms" and the soon final release of the P-51D. These games look promising but I feel the marketing for it will not be strong enough. Unless it can be easily found on game sites such as STEAM. I can honestly say I wouldn't own Flaming Cliffs and A-10C if it wasn't for me finding it on STEAM, and Im very glad I did. Can't wait for the release of P-51 and CA. Especially if its on STEAM. Does anyone disagree?
  6. Is it possible to view from External Aircraft to Threat? For example, I want my camera to be outside my F-15 looking at my F-15 in the direction a Missile is coming. The closes thing I found was "Padlock view to Threat, but this seems to only work from inside the aircraft.
  7. When I start up from the ramp, the wingman follows me down the taxi to the runway. But how do I tell him to line up next to me after I've been given take off clearance? Same goes for landing. He stays next to me when landing but breaks off before touch down.
  8. Ok, so I bit the bullet and bought LockOn and LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2. So far so good. But the training section is completely blank. Where do I need to go to learn to fly the F-15 in this game? Am I missing some files?
  9. Thanks for this link. I'll consider this source lol. But Im confused about something. I just noticed "LockOn" also has a flyable A-10. Is that accurate? If so, why was Eagle Dynamics able to create a separate A-10 game under DCS that doesn't require purchasing LockOn, but not the F-15? Even for the Russia aircraft in the game. I mean if the DCS version of the A-10 is completely separate from LockOn, I don't see why they just dont model a new F-15 game off it without using any LockOn code. I guess they thought of this and have their reasons they can't... Kind of blows.. I hate UBISoft.
  10. Thanks for all the great feedback. So is there a digital download version? Someone provided a link to Amazon but that and the purchase option on DCS looks like its only Box versions of LockOn. I haven't bought a boxed game in like 6 years. Since I don't plan to go backwards in evolution, I'd like to find a digital download version. Any suggestions? By the way Eagle Dynamics, the fact that you're forcing me to purchase something with the UBISoft logo on it angers me. I swore to the God's of simulations that I would never disgrace myself again... But I really want to try Flaming Cliffs 3 maybe even 2.
  11. If I wait for FC3, will it be a Stand-alone? Or expansion pack that requires LockOn? Would be nice if I only need to buy FC3.
  12. Thanks for the response! Im not in Russia. Im in Texas. This makes more sense now. I was confused about the Flaming Cliffs 2 thing, it looked like it Requires LockOn, and LockOn as you said was Published by UbiSoft. For the love of God, please tell me Eagle Dynamics has cut all ties with UbiSoft? I never want to purchase another game from UbiSoft but I do want to play LockOn under Eagle Dynamics development. It looks like I can only purchase a "boxed" version of LockOn for 8.99 from DCS. Then buy Flaming Cliffs 2 for 29.99. Then Im able to fly the F-15 in a realistic environment like I want. Is that accurate? Basically what do I need to do to enjoy the F-15? Should I wait for Flaming Cliffs 3?
  13. Hello, I"ve been playing DCS's A-10 since last summer and I think it's great. I've been considering getting LockOn to fly the F-15 only, but haven't because the game appears much older and not as detailed as A-10 because it was created by another company. Is that accurate? Basically if I buy LockOn now, can I play it in a world as detailed as A-10? Also, does this DCS World allow me to play both of these games if I buy LockOn now or would I have to repurchase it later? Thanks!
  14. My original post was addressing exactly what ENO has been describing. But if this issue has been resolved in an unreleased patch, great. Thanks ENO for explaining in detail better than I did.
  15. I've seen this in online videos. How do you quickly zoom on the HUD. So when you're doing a gun run your eyes aren't way back, you can press a button to see closely into the HUD for greater accuracy on targets. What's the shortcut key?
  16. What the hell!? I've never seen a CBU do that before. Very interesting. What will they think of next. Thanks for clearing that up for me with a video. It all makes sense now...
  17. Before the most recent patch my CBU-97s were behaving correctly. Bursting a few hundred feet into the air and spraying grenade size droplets on the ground at the right speed. Now when I drop CBU-97s, they burst a few hundred feet into the air, but they release what look like smaller bombs with a parachute that slows them down, and they BOUNCE when they hit the ground about 100 feet into the air, come back down, and does nothing. No explosion or anything. What's going on? Are the CBU-97s broken or is it just me?
  18. Thanks for the link. It's interesting that they were purposefully removed. If its a version conflict it would be nice if they were updated or recreated to match the current version. I enjoyed the other two campaigns... Hopefully the ones I downloaded on the link you provided aren't super buggy.
  19. I haven't played since the year started. Launched the game tonight and the only Campaign in my list is Georgian Hammer. What happened to my other Campaigns? I know I have version 1.1.1.1 installed. Did it remove the other campaigns or something? I checked in my A-10 folder and in Missions > Campaigns the only files there are Georgian Hammer Push 1-1, etc. Any way for me to get my other Campaigns back??
  20. Why is the status of Nevada a big dark secret?
  21. 213 is correct. Photoreal only means that the rendered output looks like a photograph. That's basically what the end goal for an artist is. The more photoreal their images look without having to use actual photographs, the more professional they are.
  22. It's because of Steam that I even heard of this game. I don't think the lack of 1.1.1.0 patch on Steam is Steam's fault. It feels like Eagle Dynamics has to officially send them the patch or something. Not exactly sure how it works. But it's strange Steam can update all other games that have updates, but not A-10? My opinion is, if you're going to put your product on Steam and support it. Then don't stop supporting it.
  23. I live in Nevada, not far from Nellis actually. North Vegas. I can't wait to see the detail they put into Nellis. Maybe I can bomb my house when its done?
  24. Man, that's deep. I need to smoke a bowl to process all this info.
  25. Some real world A-10s use binoculars. Is it possible to zoom in as if you're using Binoculars? I often find it difficult to spot ground targets.
