It's part of the L.O.D. (Level of Detail) system. Usually games have about 5 different levels of detail ranges. It appears when your camera has reached a certain distance, the damage LOD is being excluded, but pops on when you come into range of a LOD that accepts damage detail and graphics. It's just a way to help take stress off of your video card, but apparently they need to include the damage model to more levels of detail ranges.

I've had a few occasions where I've lost hydraulics due to damage taken. The best solution I've found was to eject. Still alive baby, still alive. Don't worry, Uncle Sam gives you a new A-10 so fresh and so clean.

I haven't done the CA version, but what about the mission forces you to fly at such low altitude? I can't imagine you're required to fly at very low Altitude for this mission. I've also found that some of the default flight plan mission Altitude waypoints are set at unrealistic levels. For example, in the Georgian Hammer non-CA version, I was sent on a mission to destroy a bridge with GBU-10s (2,000lb) bombs, yet the bridge waypoint was set at about 500ft. No way I would have dropped the bomb at this altitude.

I recently reinstalled A-10C and I noticed the default Campaign for the A-10C now starts your aircraft on the runway. Since I want to practice Cold Starts, how can I make this campaign start me up at the Ramp instead?

First, the training videos do not teach you everything. Second, you may run across how to do something in the training video, but when you start a mission, you might have forgotten how it's done (In this case, nose steering). It could be faster to turn to the forums or teamspeak for the answer, instead of re-watching a 15-20 min training video hoping this is the video with the answer.

Let's say I want to have the default weapons profile when I have 6 Mk-82 bombs under my wing. But then I want a NEW Mk-82 profile that is set for ripple release. How do I add multiple profiles for the same weapon? The tutorial doesn't show this, but does mention I can have up to 20 different custom profiles. Thanks

So is DCS going to actually start making one of the aircraft on the list flyable? The POLL has been up here for quite a long time. Are they starting to program it or is development on hold until they complete WWII Europe 1944? Looks like the F-18 is winning. Would love to see it become flyable. Status???

Really? Yea that's most unfortunate. Guess I'll have to wait. I only learned about Flaming Cliffs 3 a few days ago.

Flaming Cliffs 3 is $49.99 on DCS's website. Is this game cheaper anywhere else or any sales going on?

First, I've been away for about a year, thanks for fixing the bugs on the CBUs since last year. I use them on almost every flight now! I ran a few mission on the Georgian Hammer campaign (CA) and ran into a few problems. Would be nice if this is addressed, or if Im missing something please let me know! First, I had a mission where two armor columns were waiting for me to give them orders to advance into two different sectors. I know since this is CA, this is done by selecting the units on the F10 map and creating a waypoint for where they should go. The only problem is, I had forgotten where exactly those locations on the map for them to go to was, and didn't see any reference to it. The DEBRIEFING after starting the game only showed one location and it was barely visible. Would be nice to reference where I need to send the armor columns while in game. Second, My mouse failed to rotate my camera in F2 view. Is this a known bug? It worked for awhile, but I think it broke after I gave an Armor column and waypoint to advance. I had a third issue, but forgot what it was, no big deal, thanks for updating this game. It's amazing.

Have you tried turning on the Weapons and Gun's Mater Arm switch, then using "M" to cycle between Guns and Weapons? Also, make sure your SPI is set to the HUD and use (I believe) PageDown key to cycle between rockets, bombs, etc. Hope that helps!

Evil, can you tell me where you found GH with CA enabled and how I can get it?

It would be extremely awesome if you can jump back into your aircraft after it despawns and becomes AI. I can see a lot of cases where I would want to take control of a ground unit, but not do so because I'll lose command of my aircraft. That's basically what will happen correct?

I finally started a pre-installed mission (Overwatch.miz to be exact) and was able to use commands as Ground Commander when I edited the Mission in Mission Editor. But it appears when I chose to play as Ground Commander when the game starts my Player A-10c never spawns in the game. Thus, ruining the Mission. So I started the same mission again, this time Playing as the A-10 Pilot. My A-10 spawned, and when I jumped into the seat of a ground unit, my A-10 converts to an AI aircraft, and Im unable to give it orders. It goes off on its own and is done with me. How can I have my A-10 Spawn with out me in the pilot seat, but still be able to give it orders such as waypoints?

Does Combined Arms work in Campaign mode? For example, I have A-10 running and Combined Arms installed. When I launch the Campaign - Georgian Hammer, It never ask if I want to play as Game Master, Ground Force Commander, etc. Pressing F-10 after game launch does not reveal any Command Options for me.

OHWHY, I just sent a message to STEAM. Hopefully I get a professional response. As for the Multiplayer. I haven't played in quite sometime, but when I did play the Multiplayer was mixed. I've been on servers where people were just awesome, helpful, and did some really cool coop missions together. Then I've also been on servers where people didn't want to answer because you were new, or were doing their own thing and ignored you all together. Not sure how it is now, but Im hoping the Multiplayer population has increased. From my single player experience this is an incredible sim and I only wish more people would play online.

Thanks Burnette! Only problem is, I just downloaded the game, only to find that I've run into the same problem the other people have with the Serial from Steam. What makes my case different is that I recently installed Windows 8 so I don't have my A-10 serial in my registry. How can I get my key from my STEAM A-10 account? I have a feeling I need to write them. I don't want to install A-10 twice on my computer just to get my serial key from Steam, if that will even work. p.s. The menu on my A-10 Library on Steam does not show my key when right clicking.

When I click on "A-10c" inside DCS world, it opens up a popup with "BUY" text. I click on this and it opens up the Shop page in my browser. But I own the Steam version, where do I download the A-10c module so it works with DCS World? (The Steam version is not currently installed).
