Do you cover radio navigation at any point during your videos? I have flipped through a few of them but have not found anything yet, a lot of material to sift through hehe. Awesome videos by the way, I can already fly the huey decently but still enjoy watching these =)

Ah ok that helped, took a little exploring in the mission editor but figured it out - thanks for the help folks!

I placed a fuel truck down but could not find anything called "Explode Unit." Could you elaborate more on this, please? I apologize for my lack of knowledge - I am still pretty new to mission building... :(

I am designing a mission that is centered only around the UH-1H. In the mission I am building an enemy HQ that will have lots and lots of soft targets that are easy to take out. The problem is I am trying to find one enemy structure I could use that is relatively easy to destroy and makes a large explosion with lots of secondary explosions that continue to occur after the structure is destroyed. I tried using the Ammo Storage structure but I could not seem to make it blow up - I used over 5 salvos of HE rockets and did not seem to put a dent in it. Could anyone with mission building experience provide suggestions?

That sounds great, please no rush I understand you are busy with your job. I look forward to downloading your skins - but please take your time and enjoy your holiday. Thank you Skull!

Where can I view and download all of Skulleader's skins? I went to user files on the DCS site and there are only 8 different skins but it seems he has done considerably more than that, based on this thread... any help is much appreciated!

Me gusta! Thank you and awesome job!

You can also change the zoom on your shkval to unlock the target . =)

After takeoff and transition into level flight is the rpm lever supposed to be pulled back into the green or is it ok to keep it at max rpm? I usually pull the throttle back into the green but I never really adjust the RPMs and I never seem to have engine problems.

People are saying it's a 1.3gb update but I only seem to be downloading 1061mb. I used the update launcher under the Start menu. Is there something else I am going to need to do afterwards? Edit: is it for the Huey module maybe? I haven't purchased that yet so could that be the missing 300megs?

It's pretty exciting to see how things will change once we can use unmanned systems for commercial purposes. Also here's an interesting fact most people don't realize: Drones were invented just fifteen years after the Wright brothers achieved flight!

That was it! Thanks a ton Quax456 for the easy fix!

Whenever I am trying to connect to a multiplayer server my game starts loading the world then when it reaches 100% percent DCS stops working and it crashes. Here are the details whenever I get the crash message: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: DCS.exe Application Version: 1.2.2.7286 Application Timestamp: 50a29fa7 Fault Module Name: Weapons.dll Fault Module Version: 1.2.2.7286 Fault Module Timestamp: 5090fcd4 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0000000000035579 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: ef90 Additional Information 2: ef901436457765b6474382f66f411586 Additional Information 3: 031f Additional Information 4: 031f0c1fdc72c32484af38225c616897 Any idea what causes this? I never have any problems with singleplayer, it's just on MP.

So if I wanted to avoid all the BS2 upgrade mumbo-jumbo I should purchase BS2 full, correct? Because I just might haha.

I noticed just now that the Laser standby On/Off switch does not make a sound when flipped.

Hey everyone, sorry to have to bring this up but I did some searches and wasn't totally satisfied with what I found - maybe I missed something obvious. Anyways, I'm updating my BS2 Upgrade Version but need some help with installing. To be on the safe side, I deleted all my Eagle Dynamics files (BS1, BS2, World, saved profiles etc). I have downloaded all the necessary files I just needed some help on the correct order for installing. Do I install the original Black Shark, then DCS World, then install the BS2 Upgrade patch? Also, I remember in the past there were problems when installing anything into Programs Files (x86) and should, instead, be installed into a new folder on C: drive. Is this still necessary? Finally, do all the setup files need to be in the same location before actually installing the game? For instance, should I put all these files into perhaps a "Games" folder on C: and THEN continue with the install process? Sorry for being such a newb, never have been any good with computers. :(

Can't assign left and right wheel brakes...

Ive tried these things and still no luck PeterP, thanks for the help anyways though I truly appreciate the effort. Im thinking I might just delete everything and reinstall the game to see where that gets me. -
Can't assign left and right wheel brakes...
starkey817 replied to starkey817's topic in Bugs and Problems
I've tried both these things but it still will not let me assign new key commands for my pedals. The odd thing is it WILL let me assign new commands for everything else (keyboard, CH throttle, Fighterstick). This has only started happening after I installed World 1.2 - before that when the beta was first released I had no problems with the rudder pedals. Thanks for yall's help so far though, any other thoughts as to what it could be? Do I need to reinstall everything? Really trying to avoid that cause my net here is horrible, so bad I originally downloaded all the new DCS modules at a friend's place. -
When I go under options and start setting up my controls for the P-51, I go to Axis Assign to set up the wheel brakes for my Saitek Pro Pedals. Except when I go to the slot to assign the individual pedals the game won't let me assign anything to either slot. Instead, the only thing I am allowed to assign is just the "Wheel Brake." If I click on "Wheel Brake Left" the option to add a key command is totally grayed out so I cannot assign anything at all to it. Any thoughts?

Install Help - Setup asks me to insert Disc 1
starkey817 replied to starkey817's topic in Installation Problems
Fixed, apparently downloading one file with google chrome and then downloading the other files with internet explore will not work. I redownloaded the world.exe file and everything started working. Sorry for wasting thread space. -
When I try to run the world.exe the setup asks me to insert disc 1 or to click on browse and specify where the folder is located. I select the folder that the 5 downloaded files are located and it tells me that it cant find the first world.bin file. What am I doing wrong?

Thats a good strategy noc lol, if I'm not flying a practice mission then I'm only on multiplayer missions. Its where the juice is at :pilotfly:

Eh no worries Daniel, like others have posted... if he's not into it on his own now that you've told him about it then he's just not going to enjoy it. It's a study sim, meaning you have to motivate yourself to learn how to play it. There are plenty of people within this community that you can enjoy the game with instead. I tried getting my brothers to play this but it just wasn't going to happen heh, oh well =)

Daniel M, try to explain to your friend that the reward for this sim goes above and beyond just grinding out your next unlock. The reward is learning the start-up procedure, successfully taking off your first time, finding a target and deploying your weapons system, or simply showing off on a multiplayer server how low you can fly before demonstrating a controlled flight into terrain (CFIT) accident haha. There are soooooooo many things to learn with this sim that the reward becomes knowledge. Just learning how to fly the Ka-50 proficiently is quite a challenge. I spent the first month playing this game nearly every day just learning how to take off, navigate, and land before I ever fired a weapon. I've been trying out plenty of games since I started this sim (BFBC2, BF3, MW3, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Skyrim) and I keep coming back to this sim. I've been flying since last June and I still find myself flipping through the manual or reading the forums learning something new to do with the shark. I've also spent countless hours playing around with the mission editor to create practice missions where I can try different things and master techniques. This game is amazing, and if your friend has any interest in aviation (along with a pc that can run it hah) then its worth checking out. Hope he joins the community and have fun flying!
