  1. It could be that they are above your FL32 scan hieght limit although not seeing any contrails means they would be at FL40 or higher.. Also it could be that they are outside of your radar angle. This is a vague guess cos i dont know the angle at which the radar beam projects forwards and up. i.e at which horizontal distance the radar can actually scan up to FL32 in your case (it doesn't start scanning between 8800 and FL32 from zero horizontal distance from your nose). I dont think this would be a problem though as they are most probably below FL26 (no contrails) and still at 8nm.
  2. Was my understanding that the angle is dependant on AoA and will adjust to get the best airflow at whichever angle the aircraft is at. So to answer you question both IRL just depending on the situation. On the runway they will be straight as the AoA is lowest and at a high alpha manouver the will face down so the oncoming airflow can enter as efficiently as possible. Not associated with the planes just my understanding from intuition and so if ya got a better answer or if im wrong:doh: then go 4 it.
  3. So I have figured out there is the meinint mod where you can just change the HumanCockpit=yes thing. This is cool for flyin with other skins but two problems have come up and it would be good to know if they can be fixed. 1. Can the defaulting red cockpit be changed so that it defaults to an F15 pit since im familiar with flying the american birds not the russian ones? 2. Can the power be changed to simulate the skin. i.e When i jumped into the F5 it was possible to accelerate to crazy speeds and then pull vertical and almost enter orbit at 60000 odd metres. Im guessing this is due to the size and weight characteristics being modelled with the same engines that default along with the russian cockpit. The planes are modelled in thier own sense when they are AI so why dont these characteristics carry over when you allow human cockpit?? Correspondingly the B52 was pretty much unflyable as the flanker engines tried to drag 150 odd tons (or however heavy it is) into the sky!
  4. What, where, when, huh????:joystick: Where is the answer to this one as I would love to fly it too, even if its an eagle pit which would be much preferred to being slapped with a red pit in a 14 by whomever makes this possible.
  5. And your source for 'knowing' this is... I understand if you believe that an apache is incapable of being downed by a rifle but you cant just right it off as another system failure. It may be hard for the defence department to admit but i just cant believe all the failures that occur in war are really what they say they are. Then again this is just my opinion and who REALLY knows. Another thing is im wondering if you got to inspect the apache close up all over for the damage which aint there or are you going off a few photos posted on the ever truthful internet?? Not trying to tear ya down and no hard feeling meant but I just cant understand comments like this unless ur a ranking authority to some high level info in which ill keep my trap shut. More likely its the denial that sometimes it would most definitely be possible (again i dont really know but it seems most likely possible although simply an extremely small probability) for an ill equipped arab farmer to get lucky with his AK.
  6. god damn that is ugly and im even wearin beer goggles..short n stumpy snout and a huge gob!
  7. What a great idea. It would certainly be good for online squads where new members must 'get thier wings' on a training type before moving to an 'active squadron' and then learning war fighting after the flying. Adds realism, challenge and would raise skill levels a great deal.
  8. Sorta off this thread but i guess its a gud thread to try find an answer.Well it is obvious that if you cant see ur enemy ur gonna get smoked.. But (and shoot me down if im way off the mark but I dont know alot bout this) despite the obvoius stealth abilities of the F22, the blue C&C must know where their assets are and so there must be some sorta link between the command and the raptors so they know where to dispatch them too (and where from) when needed. So, is it possible for the red side to try and find this link and use it to find the 'invisible' raptor.Or on the other hand, do you just send a flight up into a designated area and let them go 'silent' and cover the area all on there own without any awac support to direct them from thier known/unknown postion to a threat???
  9. R u in a squad? Im sure you will find it much easier to find partners for this request if you were since generally people join squads since they wanna be part of a team and fly as a team. But I get where ur coming from cos 4 ship sorties with ts really rock.
  10. That is one awesome find and the soundtrack suits it perfectly. Thanks.
  11. Add me too this one, but i think ill have to keep dreamin bout that one...Strike missions in a hornet...
