  1. At the base of the linked page it states in the post "UPDATE: I just found it right here at Avsim, why didn't I see this before? Off to try out the Tutor." So im guessing u can download it still. Y dont u give it a go and get back to us. /0
  2. IMO FSX is worth buying soley for the improvement in the multiplayer arena. It is extremely well set up and 'most' of the time the communication is excellent. The only thing lacking is the number of people in the rooms because people have been hesitant to take it up. Also the challenges/missions/adventures are great fun aswell. HUGE improvement in adding this section.
  3. Hey buddy I am australian and I live in Sydney. I fly online using Hyperlobby when I can (I hardly ever fly offline anymore) which is usually for an hour here or there in the evening or on a weekend morning. There are a few of us around in squads but not a whole lot. I am the only aussie in my squad so that makes it kinda hard but I still manage to fly with them. Head on over and check out the site cos I would love to get a few more aussies into the =IA=. Camoman PS: I hope to be going to avalon but will depend on the cash situation in the coming weeks.
  4. Welcome, and don't forget to upgrade to 1.12a and give hyperlobby a go. We need more aussies on the server at reasonable times of the night/day, and you wont be dissapointed cos its great fun
  5. That is sweet. Im hoping that the engines spool up in sync with the throttle in game.
  6. Hi all, Just a request for those of you who have the access within your respective squads. =IronAngels= have a new site up and running consisting of a few forums. Can you please update your links to the new address: http://forums.zis.com/iaforums2/ Cheers, Camoman
  7. Yeah I can see that bud. Works fine
  8. LMAO.. the day u ceasse to exist on these forums feedback will be a sad day for all of us. Keep it up and keep the laughs coming. I dont even think u need to try to think of the things u say...:smoke: somehow they just appear??
  9. Gotta feel for him. We all hate him cos he is a crazy MOFO as we have said. But he is also one of the ugliest looking MOFO's i've ever seen too....
  10. Nice photos, but are there larger versions??
  11. This would be wicked. Actually logging on to the server at a reasonable time and seeing more than 10 people flying... instead of having to log on and fly at really early or late hours whilst the rest of the world is up. Hope this goes ahead and it gets a great score. And get those movies in there.
  12. IronAngels are still flying. http://www.ironangelslockonsite.com
  13. Not sure wot model cessna u mean but a been flying the 152 (for my lessons) lately and i have found it is quite happy to fly straight for me. I would have imagined the 172 to be quite stable aswell. Aint flown gliders though so I cant compare that for you.
  14. Almost forged the tailpipe into a permanantely thrust vectored position.....
  15. Gr8 idea. U got my vote.
  16. I attended the Saturday. It was great and now the only downer is they only hold them every decade or 2 haha.. almost. I too was dissapointed that the eagles never arrived, nor the KC-135. Speaking to a mate on the Hawk display, and he said that as far as he knew there was some bad weather and that they couldn't get out when they were meant too. He said that they were gonna fly together and thats why neither came. Also i was a bit upset that the spitfire never went up on my day cos of some tech problems. Aside from that my favourite part was the hornets for sure with the conditions being just right for alot of ekto flowing of those wings when they pulled g over our heads. And the mirrored 'aerial ballet' display from the navy squirrels was sweet. Also couldn't believe that the c17 can fit 3 littlebirds and 2 blackhawks in that hold all at once...amazing. Too bad that roulette 1 recently snapped his leg in a moto accident and once again i missed the full routine due to them being incapable of it on the day (last time i was meant to watch the full routine they crashed one of the aircraft 2 or so days b4..). they have still got alot to do till they impress me. even the four ship hornet display blew them away.
  17. I dont understand how Alfa can bring up the topic of anti-starforce rants. Sharkypal came here with a genuine observation on something which he thought was an issue and you just blew him away. He never ratned about the issue in a negative way. He only said negative things about the attitude to issues of certain people. In the end we are all customers and the ONLY reason I will buy black shark now is in the case that everyone else does so I can keep flying online. Your single minded views are a real turn off and dont do good pr for the game and its creators. I understand you may have a job but there are nicer ways to say things. Bring people up for spreading rumours, starting rants, swearing, putting others down. But dont bring people up for voicing genuine concerns,.,
  18. I have not had any personal problems with starforce and will also purchase bs. But I just wanted to say that you couldn't have put that any better. Well said.
  19. Heya, I have been following this one for a while and am gettin more excited since each time I looked at the site there has been an extra plane added to the list. RAAF: F111 FA18 Hawk Caribou Hercs 707 Orion King Air 737 BBJ Roulettes FACDU PC9 RAN: Seahawk Squirrel Army: Blackhawk Kiowa RSAF(singapore): Puma USAF: F15 C17 KC135 Warbirds: Spitfire Kittyhawk Mustang Neptune Meteor DC3 Canberra Should be quite a show and looks like the weather is gonna be kind to us also. I expect all the RAAF jets to take to the sky and the warbirds also but im not sure if the Eagle will fly for us..I hope im wrong.
  20. I reckon it looks awesome. I like it heaps and the black colour looks sweet 2.
  21. Well I found another article which gives cost indications. Just bought the Oct 06 Australian Aviation magazine the other day and it has a good article about the gap in fighter capability australia potentially faces. Besides that it mentions that: " When asked how much the F-35 will cost, Lockheed Martin officials have consistently quoted an average unit 2002 dollar cost for the CTOL F-35A of US$45m and US$55m for the more complex F-35B STOVL and F-35C carrier version." If you do the maths using dollar inflation of 3%/year which is what I have been told is the standard rate. The 2008 dollar cost off the line will be around US$53.7m for the F-35A. This doesn't include all the development and support costs and stated in my previous post which bring it up to $100m. Aside from this it is predicted by some that by the time the RAAF is ready for purchase post 2012 the unit cost could push A$115m off the line due to all the future upgrades which are planned and infaltion, etc. So if you want a raw off the line 2008 cost - US$50 mill+, but if you want a figure which includes all the costs the US government has and will have put toward the program by the time of purchase in 2008 (hopefully) it will push US$100m.
  22. There are lots of figure's for what the JSF will cost when it finally begins to become available. The hoped for cost at the beginning of the program was about US$30-35 mill. By now the reports are that the cost is up to $45-60 and could push $70 mill. I have read this in a few places and wiill try find links if you want. In the end though we should all have expected blowouts in the cost since we all knew it was going to run overshedule. As costs raise numbers required will most probably also drop and this will push up the cost further again. Another point I have seen is that according to: http://www.ausairpower.net/DT-Fighter-05.pdf "The Selected Acquisition Report to Congress for December 2004 covering the JSF program indicates that the average unit flyaway cost across all JSF variants for a total build of 2458 aircraft is US$87.11 million each. This cost would be achieved some time after aircraft number 1,200 rolls off the production line." (pg3/4, top right) Source SAR Report: (by dividing total cost by number of units- US$104.4m, so this varies from 87??): http://www.acq.osd.mil/ara/am/sar/2004-DEC-SST.pdf "The total program cost estimates provided in the SARs include research and development, procurement, military construction, and acquisition-related operation and maintenance. Total program costs reflect actual costs to date as well as future anticipated costs. All estimates include anticipated inflation allowances." So could this be correct. That is a very high cost to be anticipated for the program when it still has a few more years before the first production run even begins... And the latest available SAR (Jun06) gives a cost of $US112.47m per unit. I understand that this includes all costs so the way i see it is that this is a more accurate representation of cost to the US for the aquisition of the JSF than the numbers per plane figures that float round from article to article. If anyone knows more in depth about the SARs and what they exactly mean then speak now...(although they do quote what they mean as I have quoted above).
  23. :megalol: always good for a laugh..
  24. And the caption reads: "UFO video taped while I was paintballing. By UFO I mean B-2 Stealth Bomber" He obviously knows what it is unless the guy going off his brain is a different person to who posted it. Either way da guy is an idiot. Nice clip though.
