  1. Hi Rugg, nowhere in the MiG mission but it was really bad in the Oil Terminal mission where there are hills...basically I've seen it everytime the hills were on the horizon.
  2. Will BS use SF? I'd bet the house on it...
  3. Ok I just tested it again...I still have advanced haze! In the A-10 Oil Terminal mission I gain 15FPS at the start which diminishes a good deal once I get close to the action but it's still prolly a good 5FPS better over the town. In the MiG-29 quickie I gain about 7-8 FPS. Also the annoying vertical bars are gone gone gone! BTW I'm using the 82.12 Forceware drivers and my screen rez is 1280X1024. I'm happy! :icon_supe
  4. You know that's entirely possible Mustang. I'll dive back in later and check the haze difference. Right now I'm nursing a :icon_hang over so it'll be a little while...last night was rough. :icon_toil :icon_frow
  5. Whiskey, I haven't gotten my DVI cable yet so I'm still using the VGA connection. Why what's up? :)
  6. I tried dis-abling it today and my screen size remained the same (I run 1280X1024) and my framerate went up. I also got rid of an annoying vertical bar anomaly that was in the mountain-regions of the terrain. :icon_jook What does it do besides slow my machine down and give me graphic-related artifacts?
  7. Yep I don't care for Norton's stuff...way too bloated and it causes problems in my experience. Besides, you should have as few progs running in the background as possible with something as system-taxing as Lomac. I wonder what component of your security suite was giving you trouble...AV or Firewall?
  8. RTFM or mebbe nowadays it should be more like RTFPDF:rolleyes:
  9. Yeah back up and runnin' woohoo! :horseback Hey Thomas...just wanted to also say a quick "thank you" to you and all the people who give of thier time and talents over there. You all have made Lomac much better! :icon_supe
  10. Hi Falcon, IMO that system of yours deserves a better videocard....everything else looks spankin'! :icon_supe I hope you get the lockups sorted.
  11. Yeah I just got a "This account has been suspended" message and I was coming here to ask if anyone else had problems...dayum. :icon_conf
  12. I'm gonna have to get some mileage out of the one I have for a while but yeah I'm going DC next time...Fighter Ops is supposed to be coded for it so that'll be a good incentive to upgrade when the time comes, imho.

    LOMAC sky

Well I was going to suggest using the digital vibrance feature if you had an Nvidia card but it sounds like you've tried that....it works wonders on the sky color but yeah, it also changes everything else. All I can suggest is don't build any missions around the 12 noon timeframe. :p
  14. Hey all my new monitor (in my sig) will easily go past 1600X1200 at desktop but in Lomac I can't get a graphics option past 1280X1024 which is my monitor's native resolution. I have the V1.11 FPS mod...do you guys think this is why I'm not able to choose a higher rez within the game?
  15. No s**t I thought it was available only through Natural Point! I got mine coming in the mail this week. :icon_supe
  16. Hehe seriously though, thanks for taking the time Wombat...it's much appreciated! :icon_supe
  17. What? Why foot in mouth? Anyway, if you do one Wombat please use a "windows for dummies" approach for my sake. :p
  18. I'd love to see a step-by-step sticky thread on this one. :icon_pray
  19. Lemme get this straight, the only time I'll see tearing is when my fps # exceeds my monitors refresh #? :o
  20. Hey all, I've noticed I get wierd texture tearing without v-sync enabled. It looks like horizontal lines across the upper middle of the screen when I pan around in the pit....most noticeable in the canopy frame area. V-sync fixes this but it absolutely rapes my card by about 18 FPS. I never ran v-sync with my 9800Pro and I didn't see this anomoly. I dunno if this might have something to do with switching to Nvidia, my driver (82.12 forceware) or my new LCD monitor. BTW, I ran the usual driver cleaner process when switching to the 7800GT.
  21. IMO, Lomac gives you the edge in flight models, aerial combat and formation flying...not to mention more realistic visuals. F4 has a clickable pit, better comms, it's a better all-around war simulator and it has that big, bad heavy stick...the dynamic campaign. I "feel" like I'm flying in Lomac so it's my fav of the two. :)
  22. Cali, just an update. With identical graphic settings I went from 25FPS (9800Pro)in the MiG-29 quickie mission (1st scene in-cockpit facing the MiG-31&MiG-27) to 78FPS (7800GT)!!! External shots of same scene are in the high 130's. Of course, this is just a quick glance at the differences but holy crap.......:icon_supe
  23. Luke, yeah man I exchanged several emails with him back when everyone was flying V1.02. He said he was going to update his mod for the newer version but I guess he just lost interest as he said he wasn't playing Lomac anymore. :icon_conf
