  1. Just get over the airfield and *EJECT EJECT EJECT* :pilotfly:
  2. I had to disable the mirrors when on ground and back off the trees from 10,000 to 5,000. Once those two things were done I gained back ~15-20 fps.
  3. Realistic based on your extensive knowledge of how the A-10C really sounds? If so I'm sure they would be willing to work with you to get it sorted. Personally I think it sounds great.
  4. Yes turning on EGI instead of HARs on the MNSP after alignment of the CDU/INS and timing out on 4.0.0.8 and selecting NAV mode.
  5. Yeah that's what I was trying to say in so many words.
  6. TrackIR isn't a have-to......it's more like a "NEED-TO" when it comes to this, it makes flying so much better.
  7. Yeah I tried patching it, it works fine, unless you play online like me. The single player version was flawless, but once you try to play online you get an error "Integrity Check Failed" and it boots you out of the server. Other than that everything else worked fine. Not sure what kind of issues you will have in the future like that. However I found it simplier to just grab the files for the game and the update off ED's site and install it using the CD Key from Steam and it's been a joy ever since. And yes at least another week from what they are saying, it could be longer, but nobody knows and no firm date has been given.
  8. You're looking too close, don't you have a tank to drop some bombs on?! lol.
  9. Does that include using the throttle. If not you are using the ejector seat "stick". lol
  10. They commented in the forums sometime next week at the earliest for Steam to get updated. As far as deleting this and that you don't have too, all you need to do is download the files and install, I mean honestly downloading a patch and installing it isn't that hard. I had issues trying to 'cheat' the system and get it ahead of time. Lesson learnt that sims like these don't belong on Steam.
  11. Or just look down the posts on the 1st page of this forum. There is another one covering it too! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=74842 ;)
  12. lol yeah I think it's self explanatory lol. If you setup a custom profile or want to use the same profile for everything you use the trackir for, you can also check mark the exclusive box, which will make it always use that profile instead of it pulling a different on per game.
  13. I hit the speed I need at the angle I need, then trim the aircraft to match. Simple reason do do that is so that you don't have to concentrate on more in the cockpit besides watching airspeed and altitude on approach, in perfect conditions in all reality there is much more going on at times depending. You never adjust trim for vertical velocity, unless you are trying to maintain climb at speed. I think we just had a misunderstanding, we are talking about the same thing in two different ways lol.
  14. Ok thanks for the link. So essentially if I upgrade to an SSD, which is only one change, it will not make me reactivate as long as the machine is the same. If I deactivate it on the old machine, and active on the new machine it doesn't cost me anything, other than 1 of the deactivations? So essentially you can go through 10 complete machine changes before you would run into an issue, right? If that's the way it works I'm fine because I don't think I'll be building 10 new machines anytime soon lol. That's the only hang up I've having. So in reality, nothing is costing us anything unless you are putting it on a completely different machine, and this last activation was only because of a change in the protection which I knew about. Now it's starting to click with me. Is there anyways, besides going through the motions, that we can see how many we have left? Thanks for the links!
  15. I've got the trackclip pro which makes it a bit different, but I use the default DCS-Warthog profile with different action keys setup. I have Yaw, Pitch,Roll,X,Y,Z, and Trueview checked. My speed is setup to 0.8 and smooth at 28. Those two settings are largely user specific.
  16. LOL you mean I can't go 600!!!
  17. I don't think he knows that 20 degrees is "DN"(Down) and "MVR"(Maneuver) is 7 degrees for takeoff. I would suggest checking out Page 105 in the manual for the flap position indicator and what each setting is for, along with airspeed requirements.
  18. That's what I said "You have to reactivate your product once installing the 1.1.0.8 patch stated by ED because of the changes in Starforce protection"....You have a certain numbers of deactivation? Is there somewhere straight from ED I can get what happens when you run out? I mean I understand it's to protect against piracy but if a paying customer can't reinstall their sim at some point and have to repurchase that's pretty sorry. And if this is the case, has it ever happened that anyone knows of? Ok so it only does that after you use up all 10. Well what happens when you use up 10. Two months later you reinstall. You stay at one? Permanently? What happens if you use it then decide to go ahead and build a new machine due to say a hardware failure, like a hard drive failure for instance? There would be no way of deactivating, you only have one key left, now you've lost it? I'm thinking a few years out from now because I re-image my machine at least once a year and so far this year since I've purchased this sim have already used 2 activations and no deactivation?
  19. Umm exactly, I trim out to ~800-1000fpm(VSI) which holds the airframe at the right AoA and speed for approach. It's what you are supposed to do to maintain glideslope without need for throttle or pitch adjustments. Then the plane, in clear weather, basically flies itself to the runway where you only have to flare and chop the throttles. Least that's the way I learned to fly, maybe new flight training is a bit different but I doubt it. You can't adjust height in level flight, when you apply or decrease throttle it changes your angle of attack, hence the reason you trim for speed.
  20. It does feel like, on my end, that the model isn't dead stalling in turns quite as easily. So maybe they tweaked it a bit?
  21. I normally trim out constantly on landing just like in flight. At the initial point of descent into the airport, 3500ft., I'm trimmed out flat and level. Once I get to that point and start my turn to final I trim it out to make ~500fpm nose down. I do that because once you hit the glide slope it takes between 800 and 1000fpm to keep you in the right area without touching the stick too much. It's basic pilotage, I would think if you plane is becoming unstable you are going too slow. On approach try to stay between 140-150 with any kind of load. If you dropped and fired everything and are lowish on fuel come in around 120-130. Another thing to keep in mind you need full flaps dropped as well, as it gives you more lift at slow speeds when you are on your final.
  22. Which is what we are talking about, a straight forward install. You have to reactivate your product once installing the 1.1.0.8 patch stated by ED because of the changes in Starforce protection and what not, which is why they have 'added' an activation to each serial. From my understand if you deactivate and reactivate it still costs 1 activation, least it did for me on my other machine this morning.... Nothing has been left out from what I have done, I just reinstalled. NOTHING changed no hardware, software, or drivers changes. No machine name changes, hell I didn't even reboot. Either way after reading up a bit on the topic of activations this seems kind of a moot thread anyways because the activation that you burn is granted back to you a month after activation right?
  23. Well funny thing is I've reinstalled two more time, testing out Steam and patching etc. and it has quit asking me now, thank god. If its going on the same machine your not supposed to have too.
  24. The guy you quoted above told you heh. "C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Saved Games\DCS Warthog" folder. You will see in there a logs folder etc.
  25. When I activated it I didn't have the same as before. I lost one......2 down 8 to go.
