Ladies and Gents, In the world of mission building it is important to add as much immersion as possible to a mission. I lot of time and effort goes into building a quality mission so one might as well make it the best possible. Voice overs for missions, builds this immersion and I am looking for people to to provide those voice over files. I have the required scripts for these that are properly punctuated to create the right mood so one can manipulate his voice accordingly. If you are interested in helping with this there are several mission builders on the forums that would appreciate your help. Please post me if you have time to help (we need quick turnaround) on these files. I will post you the scripts in order of sequence, all you have to do is save each voice file with the corresponding number as per the instructions. No special effects required all these are added when we get them back. In your post to me please state Gender/Approximate Age/Nationality - Accent. All information provided will remain confidential. You only need to down load a free program like gold wave and have a mic to build these voice files. I can help over Team Speak if needed. Hope some of you can help thanks in advance. Rob

Just upgraded the PC with a Ivey Bridge 3770K, 16GB Ram, ASUS 670GTX, P8Z77-V deluxe Mobo.... CPU over clocked to 4.4GHZ Intel 520 Series 240GB SSD Drive. Now its not to say the FPS are bad but something is not right. With custom settings Vis+Texture etc to HIGH, AA on 16x, Vsync off, HDR off, Tree Shadows off, Water medium the PC will pull about 40-50FPS, If I turn everything to absolute max with all settings on I get 35-45 FPS. If I put the setting to medium using default tab I get 45-55 FPS. There always seems to be a consistent jumping up and down of 10FPS. Rumors have it the the current driver build 301.42 are not tuned to well??? Does anyone else have a similar setup and what are you getting on average. My old PC E8500 O/c's to 4.2Ghz, 4 GB Ram, Zotac 570GPU would get 55-70FPS with settings on a mixture of High and medium. But it would drop at times to 20 or below when things got fired up on the battle field. Like I said the FPS are not bad, it runs smooth, does not drop below 30FPS and looks very good. The tests are run using the Instant Battle builder so there are lots of units and its quite busy. I just think I should see a bigger range between the FPS counts when the setting are moved up and down.

HawgTouch - Free Panels & Gauges for A-10C
IADC replied to ClearDark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
In HT1.5 would anyone have any profiles they have built using the MFCD's with a selection of gauges for the A10 that would happen to fit 1280x1024 touch screen. Being a rookie at this I have no idea where to start with making my own. Thanks for any help -
Great and thanks. Thats what i thought but you take no chances with this bloody thing these days....

Same issue as well. Running 2 PC's under same router. One of them I run as a server. They cannot see each other in the Internet gameserver list but will appear under the LAN connection to each other if eaither one is running as a server. My mate can see my games on the Internet server list though with no problem. Once this was understood we managed to all connect, him through Internet me through lan and fly a mission that was until it crashed. Once it crashed we reset the server and the client PC could no longer see the server under internet or lan and would not connect through IP either. This may have been another issue. Definately something fishy going on.

After Installing DCS World full version 1.1.2.1 the P51 1.1.2.1 Install is just a single file of around 150mb. When I Install A10 module 715mb do i need to have 1.1.1.1 installed or just the 715mb A-10C_1.1.2.1_EN.exe into DCS World?
-
A few thoughts...... The current engine sound in the P51 seems not to portray the stress noises an engine makes when taken through its power range. I have not been in a p51 so i would not know but having flown small fixed wing aircraft there is definitely a range of harmonic frequencies one will sense when moving from mid range power to full power. It might just be my old deaf earols but what it sounds like to me is that there is only one engine sound and it seems the only thing that changes between half/reduced power and full power is the volume, no real pitch change. Being as nimble as this little plane is and of course the G effect/lock i seem to constantly live in, it would make a big difference to SA if there was more feel to the sound we hear. A difference in cockpit and engine sound between doing 200 300 and 400 knots and when that engine is screaming at full power as opposed to mid power would help to keep you in the perfect speed and power range without having to refer to the instruments all the time. Just a thought…………….. I looked in my rear view mirror again and that guy is still there, getting very suspicious now :joystick:

Hi, I was wondering if anyone is working to produce a set of Gauges for the P51 that we can render to a second monitor. Air Speed, Altimeter, Fuel, G-Meter, Bank/Turn Indicator, Rate of Climb. What also would be cool is to render the rear view mirror as well as for some reason i always have someone following me and I am getting suspicious:lol: Cheers

I purchased this app the other day only to find out its screwed with 1.09. Eventually it will be fixed I am sure but it pisses me off when you are not warned by the developer till after you have made the purchase. I am sorry but an email from the developer stating its broken since the last patch and he is not doing anything about it in the hope DCS will fix it in the next patch does not cut it. Very Disapoinyted indeed.....

Support for more types of Head Tracking Software.
IADC replied to jireland607's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
As mentioned in other posts this is a noble form of complaint but it might not bare fruit. However I have signed it as many others have and I am sure will. Does NP have ED by short and curlies here? Time will tell. Next action will be to burn my TiR at the stake in a public display of protest. Well i will start with the stupid antlers first which i have two broken pairs because they are made shoddily. I do know one thing for sure, I have a good friend who is developing another fine helo sim and I will be sure he pays close attention to this to make sure NP products play second fiddle to anything else out there when it comes to his code. -
What is the Future for Head Tracking Technology
IADC replied to IADC's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Your spot on there Some1..... Its upto ED to manipulate their code so another door is opened.... -
No no no, this will not address the immediate issue. even if it does cost less than a curved monitor build I will have to buy a bigger house to fit it in... hehehe
-
Another piece of technology that seems to be long in the coming in terms of affordability is new gaming specific displays. Over the last few years we have seen several curved monitors developed by various companies but all of them want to charge us 6K plus for this technology. Would anyone know of something that’s coming to the market in the near future that might address this cost issue? We basically need 2 or 2.5 screens warped into a curve. I have seen three screen setups and they are two large.

Anyway Genius can made Kinect work on PC?
IADC replied to BBQ's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I can’t believe some of the crap you read on these forums. No offence Border2 but where do you get your information from? I have setup and tested the PS3eye Camera with Face Track Noir 1.6/DCS A10 32bit release and it is as good as track iR but does not work with DCS A10 64bit because it was blocked. Seriously people get proper facts that are proven and tested before writing on the forums because it leads to disinformation about product capability. If we don’t support newer technology then we will never see any development. You will still be sitting there with a pair stupid antlers stuck to your head in 10 years from now. Good Point from BigBANGtheory, Why are Natural Point staying silent. Believe me this does not help their cause any and makes me want something else even more. -
Today I came across a petition that has been setup to request DCS to kindly consider incorporating support for other Head Tracking software and hardware in their 64bit versions of the DCS series currently available and including future series. Currently we are limited to one choice being Natural points Track iR which has been the forefront in Head Tracking Technology and still is an excellent device with good support. However we are all aware newer technology has started to show its possibilities with systems like face Track Noir. Currently DSC only supports Natural Point products leaving no room for competition when it comes to bringing new technology to the table. Competition is healthy and it’s a win win situation for everyone especially the flight SIM enthusiasts. Without it old technology is allowed to remain in the arena unchallenged and over priced and we are the only losers. The petition can be found at http://www.petitiononline.com/Tracking/petition.html Please take 5 minutes to fill in a few details and give your support. I am not bias to anyone of these available technologies and I am doing this for ME and also those of you who like a little choice and like to see technology kept on the edge. One small thing to consider; Imagine head tracking with no restraints, no cables, wires and other such things attached to your head. The kinect technology coming soon to the PC supports lip reading and syncing technology, this would remove the need for having to mash the F keys when using radios. The Kinect also provides directional sound recording, it senses your head position and captures sound from in and around your facial position. No more head phones. Guys this is called moving forward and if we sit around waiting for someone to do this who has no urgent reason to do so because they monopolize the market then we are the only losers. I don't want of these” L” on my forehead…..

TIR Question...thinking about buying
IADC replied to cichlidfan's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
TiR hit on FPS is negligent. I think the point here for all to note is this hardware/software option is just around the corner for us simmers. I have been mightily impressed with the free software by Face Track Noir running with the PS3 cam. It’s not good for everyone as most people don’t want to muck around setting stuff up but hey TiR out the box still needs some tuning. Another point to take into consideration is when I spoke to Wim who developed FTR he was not developing it for DCS series and therefore no specific considerations had been given to those SIMS. Another thing to consider is, The Kinetic can lip sinc/read. It could be used within a sim to give radio commands, Radio switch pushed forward (WHHOTAS), call F4 for JTAC, and continue on giving commands for all the read backs. No more mashing the F Keys, no more goofy antlers stuck to side of your head, built in directional mic for voice comms. Seriously how good can it get? It might be an idea to throw $50k at the Face Track Noir developer and get him to implement the above using kinect technology.... -

[ QUOTE=WynnTTr;1201824]When all those other technologies catch up to the precision of my TrackIR 5 then I'll gladly switch. Once tuned in which takes about 45 minutes, or it did me it is as precise as the Track iR. Does that facetrack work with the same precision - if I snap my head will it lose the tracking? What if I have a darker face? Do those others support 64bit? When it comes to holding the track it actually works better than TiR and the PS3eye camera works very well in a dark environment. Unfortunately no they don’t support 64 bit yet unless you use ppjoy but then again this is all free ware right now but i am sure the first one to bring out a retail product that has been tuned properly will bury TiR. -
I was looking at the PPJOY but some people were compalining about problems with it. Also what is the Trojen Virus all about, When I down loaded it the AVS system detected it straight away. Can someone provide a clear listing of the process A-Z of getting PPJOY working? Cheers

Hi, After the initial success with the 1.6 FTN software and Sony PS3EYE I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the XBOX Kinect. There is a driver of sorts for the Kinect to run with WIN7. What i am wondering is, will the Kinect with its array of sensors provide a more accurate head movement capture? Although we are limited to 32bit for the DCS productions whilst using this sort of technology for now, I can honestly say that using a core i5 processor the performance is above and beyond anything that you could remotely refer to as poor and there for negates the need for 64bit performance when it comes to usage of RAM. Can someone list the all the Pro's for using 64bit over 32bit (DCS SPECIFIC) because I can no longer remember. cheers
-
Hi, I have just installed FTN on my kids computer to give it try against the TrackiR and before I drop 100+ bucks on a new Tri5. The bonus here was if it did not work to well the camera could be used for the SONY PS3 game consol. At a cost of 39 bucks for the camera and a small donation for the 1.6 release of FTN I have it up and running for fewer than 60 bucks. I am running it with a SONY PS3eye using TrackiRfix in both Black Shark and DCS A10 albeit only with 32bit (x86) mode (Although PC runs 64bit). Although i have a TrackiR and use this on my main PC in 64bit I am seriously considering moving back to using 32bit because this latest release of FTN blew me away. It runs VERY Smooth no jitter and is as good as if not better than the TrackiR in performance and of course having no crap strapped to your head makes it absolutely outstanding. It uses around 130meg RAM and CPU cycles are 10-18% but with the core i5 2500k (Not over clocked yet) and a GTX570 the puter is still pulling 65+ FPS on average with the occasional drop down to 40FPS and a high of 90+ with all settings on max including heat blur. The set up was very simple Down Load CL Eye Driver 4.0.2.1017 and Install Plug in PS3eye Install Latest face Tracking API from Seeing Machines Install Facetrack Noir v130 Patch v130 with 1.5 (copy and paste overwrite) Bug Fix for 1.5 (copy paste overwrite) Patch over 1.6 (copy and paste overwrite) Execute TrackiRFixer for both DCS A10 and Black Shark No hassle no issues and both games worked right off the bat. The only tricky part was calibrating the curves and the transitions to get it just right. This took me about 45 minutes and 3 beers. I say hats off to the gentleman who has put the time and effort into this as free ware. I think it’s totally unfair to have the software blocked from running in the 64bit version just because Natural Point wants to monopolize the game for them. The petition idea is the way to go so I suggest everyone get signing or we will just end up paying Natural Point 300 bucks for the same thing in 12 months time once they get off their butts and build a product. This type of technology has been available to us for some time now and NP should have taken up the challenge.
