  1. What would be handy is if we could get an official group who would commit to testing missions, ED Missions Testing Team so to speak. Another idea would be to have a chat room in the multi-player GUI so Mission Builders can go in and ask people who want to mission test to join them in testing a new build.
  2. In practicing what I preach I will definitely DL the mission this weekend and give it spin. Once done I will let you know. Cheers
  3. Blooze, I dont know if you have tried any of my missions but they are all available to down load. They may not be the kind of mission you prefer as my missions are very dependent on completing taskings in a limited amount of time or the mission is lost. They are also mostly built for 2-4 players. Although I have turned some of them into SP missions they are difficult to win with just one A10 in the air as most people end up with sensory overload as you cant share out the work load. I have another mission in the build which will be out this weekend called Operation Draugr which is a little more like what your looking for with a central Holding station and several taskings being issued from it. On my next mission I will take your liking's into consideration and see what I can come up with.
  4. Blooze there are several mission builders out there including myself and we tend to release missions every few months. The thing with building missions is they have to be flown many times to test their play-ability and the builder needs feed back to get them working properly. Unfortunately on this forum feed back is next to non existent. People play them and if they work they move on and if they don't work they move on. All this said it sometimes leaves the mission builder thinking why do i bother spending 30+ hours working on something that will never be properly completed because no feed back comes through. What happens next is mission builders start keeping them to them selves and playing them with friends. If the mission plays out well without glitches they sometimes get released to the public but if there are glitches that prevent the mission from playing out they mostly just get left on the shelf because after 30+ hours of mission building and testing on your own your just sick of the sight of it. So in nut shell your plea to "cough em up" may not mount to much i am afraid.
  5. You know i never even considered weather conditions apart from making the wind direction changes so the take off runway was closest to the parking ramp. Feel free to change to your liking. As mentioned its a practice mission only for those who are new to the SIM or those who are a bit rusty especially using the CDU it was not intended for active pilots. Play Smoke that Thunders or one of my others for a challenge. Thanks
  6. TRAINING MISSION I have added a simple training mission to file location in the post above. This is a simple mission for someone to practice the use of the CDU input of coordinates and a selection of various targets to attack with a wide range of weapons. TRAINING Mission - I created this mission based on flying with a friend recently who had been out of practice for several months and was struggling to remember stuff. The missions allows for you to take your own time at engaging each target without getting pressure for your flight to defend or protect any form of asset. Practice data input into your CDU and setting up an appropriate attack run depending on the TGT your engaging or weapon your deploying. Change load outs to suit your practice needs. Weapons Practice Mission. (CAUTION TARGETS ARE LIVE AND WILL FIGHT BACK) Boar 11 flight will hold station and receive TGT tasking from Challice at mission control. The first TGT has a SA19 embedded with them. This unit can shoot down MAVS so you might have to knock him out first with a GBU or get your wing-man to get his attention then shoot him. The Second TGT is a convoy also with SAM air-defense so hunt him down first before you get too close. Target 3 is a mountain top radio mast with limited ADF assets. Some high level LGB bombing can be practiced here. TGT Co-ordinates are not precise so you will need to practice searching with your POD. Default weapon load out: AGM65H CBU 87 MK82 GBU12 GBU38 CM GUNS

Well on average it seems to take 3 MAVS rippled fired to take him down. By the time you get within the range with the MAV you are also in range for him to shoot back. You first MAV is almost instantly taken out once launched, the second one gets with in around 1/2 mile before he launches a second defensive missile and your third MAV is right between the eyes. Taking munitions efficiency in to account and if you want to make a decent impact with your time over target its more economical spending the time to take the fat HOG up to angels 18 and dropping a GBU on his head. Whats goofy is why cant he shoot down the GBU? Its slow and floats to TGT like an ambling elephant and is a bigger target than the MAV. Maybe the SA19 operator gets neck ache looking straight up. I am still not not convinced the SA19 would be good enough to maintain a 100% kill ratio as he does in DCS.

Otto that's interesting info. My observations are also based on limited knowledge and maybe the bugger does shoot down MAVS who knows. Maybe ill try the double tap on the sucker.

I took a look and yes agree its not a building problem just an annoying problem. I have never heard of the SA19 having that capability to shoot down a MAV. Load of bollocks in IMO. Dropped a GBU on his head from Angles 18 and that sorted him. Also tested it using a SA15 and he started shooting them down as well. One i don't even know if he could track it and second get a lock. Maybe he could knock it out with a guns but then again only if he could see it.
  10. Was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why my Mavericks in a training mission I build kept blowing up. I only come to find that the SA19 is shooting them down. Has anyone else had this problem? Mission Attached Weapon Deployment Practice.miz
  11. Totally agree a good variety of missions makes sense for sure. It is a shame we cannot save the MP mission in progress, a friend of mine managed to to do this once with certain coding but it was unreliable and DCS did not like it. I remember the old days with Falcon 4 where you could do it and it was great. I personally enjoyed the long Ingress in Talons reach as you said when you invest the time in getting there you tend to take care of what you are doing. In some missions I have made I will however drop a couple of flights that spawn near the AO just in case someone gets nailed. Its funny I can sit their quietly building a mission for many hours at a time without the wife detecting :music_whistling: I may be getting some sort of pleasure from it but as soon as I start the engines :joystick: she knows Im enjoying myself and must intervene and put an immediate stop to it.
  12. I hear you Charlie, I am waiting to retire so I can have more time. I like to think I wear the trousers in my house but when the wife gets ferocious a flee for cover dropping chaff and flares all the way.. We will see how the poll turns out. There is either a lot of brave men out there or they are single.
  13. Would just like to run a quick poll on how much time on average do most people have to fly DCS when they have the chance. I find on many occasions by the time i even get airborne I've been goofing off for 45 minutes getting setup and then it seems 9 times out of ten I've run out of time before I even get to finish the mission. This removes the good feeling of satisfaction when you complete a mission and the whole experience becomes a bit like ground hog day for those who remember that movie. Missions such Operation Bactria and the more recent Operation Talon fix this issue by allowing you to check in and out and having taskings randomized so you can take up the mission again and it will be slightly different not having to go through the whole senario again especially the boring parts. The Poll askes for average times people have to play allowing for the mission builders to consider this when designing taskings.
  14. Spectra yes that C17 drove me mad but there was nothing I could do to change it. It must be something to do with any slight damage to the runway or debris I dont know. Some days it works fine others it goes goofy. Maybe I should remove the SU27's from the mission and keep all other targets away from the runway. Something I might come back too at a later date. Another mission on the build now so I am busy with that. Cheers
  15. Joyride, thanks for the mission bud. Played it yesterday for an hour or so before we got the old CTD treatment for DCS. Nicely done. We only got the first 3-4 taskings done I think and we were wondering if they become more difficult as the mission plays out? I have not cracked the .miz file open yet in the mission editor as it would be a spoiler but how many taskings in total have you included and are they randomized so each time you fire up the mission you don't know what will be coming at you? Cheers
  16. Again I know this is old but trawling through the forums looking for the key words is not bringing up anything on Radio Message menu and how to move it across a multi screen setup. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. Guys I know this is old but since I set up a 3 screen display my multiplayer UI screen is now stretched over 3 screens. I have had a trawl through the forums but cant find what im looking for. Can someone please direct me on this. Thanks
  18. Would someone be kind enough to point me the direction of how to disable the view ports in the cockpit view for the MFDC's? As I have these running on a 4th monitor on Helios they are not needed. Will this increase performance by doing this? when panning around the cockpit and the MFDC's come into view.
  19. AVZ I have not had your issue but there is definitely something fishy going on with mission editor and it is random. My issues are the save button does not always save so I have to make sure I use Save as and give the mission a new version name. The other is when I add sound files to mission build. Sometimes I come back to find the sound file is gone. Not that it just wont play the whole file is gone and the proof f this is the miz file reduces in size.
  20. Now that I am riunning 3 x 1920/1200 monitors the cockpit zoom is now only really view able when the HAWG HOTAS slider is in the full back position. Any guides as to how this can be adjusted? Track iR gets a bit jittery as well, Are there any recommended smoothing settings that one would recommend to eliminate this?
  21. Its all well and fine having a surround monitor setup on three screens and 4th screen running Helios but unless one can crank out acceptable frame rates its worthless. I have had this issue before when I first upgraded my system and was only running a single monitor. I would get hardly any difference on FPS between the highest settings and lowest. I am now running 3 x 1920/1200 and 1 x 1280/1024. My frame rate has dropped as expected from around 60FPS to 30FPS once the 3 monitors fired up. Helios on the 4 th screen sucks about 3-4 FPS. Once again regardless of what setting I run Very High of Very low I get minimal performance change in the FPS. PC is 3770K O/c @ 4.5G - 670GTX Card -SSD HD - 16GB Ram Sorry about the crap picture but I spent all my money on monitors and not a camera. Anyway in a nut shell here are my questions. 1) Those of you with Similar setups as in monitor sizes and array, could you provide some setting tweaks. 2) What are the best GPU drivers currently for DCS? 3) Any ideas as to why the performance change in FPS is so minimal between the highest in game settings and medium in game settings. Difference is around 3-5 FPS
  22. Layers in Helios. I have noted that some people have created switches to bring up other panels when required. I would like to do this with the CDU. No problem in bringing up the CDU panel by switch but how do I get the CDU view port to layer over the other view ports and 2) only appear when I switch the CDU panel on? Help appreciated..... Thanks
  23. Can anyone tell me where in relation to your main monitor is the iPad in iControl. I am working on a 3 screen setup with a 4th screen running helios. I want to add the CDU view port to the iPad and will need to modify my monitor setup.lua file. If i spent as much time flying DCS A10 as I do screwing around building crap I would have about 50K in flight hours
  24. 5 stars Bahger, Finally got to fly the mission. Played the SP version and it was great. I may have learned a thing or two about a balanced SP mission, I think my builds are in some cases too hard when converted to SP and from now on I will use your missions as bench mark for all future SP versions. Mission progress went very well and was smooth. I think I left it a bit long before I called in Big Dog as he needed no support from SB to NB as I had killed everything after searching the AO for 30 minutes taking out what ever I could find. Voice comms we precise and provided a good feel of being part of the team effort. Great mission, please make some more. I would like to build a joint mission with you if possible, a bit of your style mixed with mine would make for something interesting. PM with an email and we can arrange to hook up on TS to come up with some ideas for a build if you would like to do this. Again thanks for your efforts...................
