  1. What is the drag impact of fuel tanks on the Viper in the tanks' different positions on the jet? How is it calculated?
  2. What was your system before? Your new one will last years!
  3. Forgive if already posted, but this is a great video on the comparison of a US Raptor pilot flying the Typhoon. Power to weight better than the F-22, but biggest negative was the radar (which he understandably didn't go into): Good bits at 18:10 onwards.
  4. Out of interest, why isn't this natively supported in DCS so we can do away with these workarounds?
  5. Hi, Can I "drag and drop" DCS from my old PC to a new one - or do I have to redownload everything again? If the former, what other folders would I need to copy too please?
  6. I run mine on "high" and get about 45-50fps which feels fine for me. These are my settings:
  7. Ordered this just now, beans on toast for me for the rest of the year...

    DLSS 4

Hi - got a bit lost in all the updates ... what's the simplest, definitive instruction set to get DLSS 4 working in DCS? I am not super technical....
  9. Hi - got the setup finally sorted, a bit more fiddly than the G2 but worth it. I'd say the image quality is ~a 60% improvement when you take into account the wider FOV and the extra detail....the G2 equivalent sweet spot is much wider in the CL and it is sharper. Also, massively annoying jittering of the cursor when trying to select buttons in the cockpit is gone with the CL ... feels generally a more cohesive visual experience. FPS on a par if not a tad better on my system. Interestingly, mission load times in VR are faster on the CL; the G2 chugged slowly on the setup screen. On the downside, it is less comfortable but I bought the extra padded faceplate and that works great. Also lets me wear my glasses! Takes more time to set up software wise than the G2 but once done it is fine. Standard installed sound is around ~80% of the quality of the G2 speakers, which is fine for me, but I might upgrade to the external pimax ones. Overall, definitely an improvement and feels more future proof.
  10. The 5080 Super looks to be a great card for VR
  11. Just ordered the Pimax Crystal Light - looks to be a decent upgrade over my HP G2 with my system. Anything I need to know to get it working well? How are people finding the visual comparison in DCS?
  12. Is there a way to turn off email notifications just for this thread but keep others?
  13. And here is a shorter version of my doco for international viewing...
  14. So compared to what I have got with my current system, my FPS in VR would nearly double.
  15. OT: popped in the 64GB of new RAM (3600 DDR4) and haven't noticed a massive difference but perhaps a bit smoother. One thing it has cured: the half to one second stutter that happened before switching between A-A and A-G radar for the first time in the jet. That switch is now smooth without stutter.
  16. Wow - the definitive comparison ismaeljorda, thank you.
  17. Thank you - actually I think I have since sorted it. Basically forced it to reinstall the driver and also I reset nVidia Inspector to default settings as I noticed problems happened soon after fiddling with that to activate DLSS 4. Swapped to another USB port too and set something in the BIOS to DCHP. Anyway, it seems much happier. Looking to upgrade to a 9800X3D or 9900X3D / 5090 / 64GB RAM system this year if I can ingress it into the house radar-silent.
  18. Hi, Seems my TM rudder pedals (those big metal ones) no longer want to be recognised, looks like an IRQ issue? Tried unplugging and plugging into a different USB port, then uninstalling device and reinstalling, to no avail. Any ideas what is the problem?
  19. I'm feeling hopeful a conclusion can be reached and we can see more improvements to the already amazing Strike Eagle.
  20. Looking forward to a resolution.
  21. And for viewers in the UK, here's how I got on: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0028cbw
  22. I know it was always better to have the OS on a separate drive, but is that needed now tyat we have super fast M2 drives etc ...? Thinking of one 8TB M2 drive at 7,000 by 7,000 instead of my two slightly slower ones. Any problems with just the one drive approach?
