Pre-ordered!

Hi - I have come up with a solution: in fact it was part of my setup in my old home. I have the internet router downstairs, and to it have connected a Deco wireless hub system comprising three base stations - the first connected to the router. Anyway, my broadband into my property is rated at 52Mbps down / 17Mbps up (at my old place it was 950Mbps down / 120Mbps up, but hey, don't really notice it that much). In this new place, the second Deco connects wirelessly to the first, and this second Deco connects to my PC upstairs with an ethernet cable. Connection is rock solid and the ping is in the range of 6ms to 8ms, which is pretty good. Everything, including DCS in MP, works flawlessly. Before in my old property I had my PC connected with ethernet cable to my router which was in the same room and didn't use the Deco hub(s) at all apart from phone/laptop/ipad inet access in dead spots.

Superb interview: Wags is the epitome of calm, clear and sensible!

Hi, I've moved to a new home and here I cannot have an ethernet cable running from the main router in the living room to my upstairs office where I have my setup. I'm in the UK. I know there is a wireless solution to connect to the downstairs router, but ping will be high probably. Is a solution using ethernet through the electric plug sockets fast and reliable these days? Or are there other solutions that might work best. Hoping for fastest speeds out of the pipe coming into my new home as well as low latency, given my current constraints. As always, thanks in advance.

Thank you all for the contributions - and some fascinating new details here.

Quick question about the flight model: it feels after takeoff that there is quite a bit of movement in pitch, unlike the Viper or the Hornet, making it tricky to fly. Why is this and is it normal? Also, the aircraft needs to be constantly trimmed out, it seems.

That Harrier nearly lost its starboard wing wheel assembly there.

Yesterday at RIAT 2023 I climbed up to the cockpit of a real F-15 Strike Eagle. Delighted to say they replicated it perfectly from the one Razbam have created for us. Pilots getting younger too. I asked the pilot the radar's range. She smiled and replied: 'Far enough.'

One further question: even though I am seeing highish frame rates from the mid-50s all the way up to 90 in clear, low congested areas, when FPS are around 50-60 there is considerable stuttering of the image when moving side to side in the cockpit. How can this be mitigated? Also there is quite a lot of shimmering visible - how to lessen? And finally, would a 4090 deliver much better frame rates or am I CPU-bound (even though it is still quite a strong CPU). And yes I am using MT.exe.

Thank you - had not been using OpenXR Toolkit but it is amazing! Huge performance increase - now running up to 80FPS in VR!!
-
Thank you - where is the setting for FFR?

Running the MT .exe too of course with the command line thing in to run OpenXR

Hi - any advice on improving VR frame-rates ... even in quiet MP servers on the ramp in Sinai in the cockpit only getting around 30fps with MR on. Here are my OpenVR settings. Any advice? null

... to slew the radar cursors in A2A / A2G mode, what is the controller name to assign to my HOTAS? Also how do you make each MFD screen SOI? I tried both TDC and radar elevation but the cursors didn't seem to move.

Worth watching a few Max Afterburner videos (former Eagle pilot) and he makes a few comments about turn rates etc ....

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the developers of this map - it is SUPERB! Sorry Syria, a new product has my complete attention! Love fhe terrain, the lighting, the attention to detail. Also a massive shout out to ED for their FANTASTIC continued work improving the core product and stuff like the Viper and Hornet. It really is the best sim in the business. Now back to the cockpit ...

Hi - where are we at at improving the textures etc .. for this map?

Just for a trip down memory lane, is there a space where the Delphi forums have been preserved from 20 years ago? Flight sim related.

Hands up if you do the real salute to the Carrier Crew when on the catapult for launch in the Hornet. PS: 80% of public embarrassment is automatically killed if you fly in VR.

I wonder whether missions with huge numbers of units are really that necessary!

I have an AMD 5800X CPU ... presume MT works "natively" on that without any special BIOS setting?

solved Crash with MT and HARM heading to Target in F6 Missile Camera View
C3PO replied to C3PO's topic in Game Crash
I subsequently cleaned out the graphics folders and not had a crash since. Also updated after this crash to the latest nVidia driver. Been largely fine so far afterwards.- 1 reply
