  1. Thanks, tried that but didn't work. Well, cable is at the side of my PC and nothing has struck it, I don't think. Weird because the little white light comes on the power box.
  2. Hi - not used the VR for a few months and now it won't start. The light comes on the black power box but nothing from the headset. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting the USB and video cables into my machine and still nothing. Is there anything more that I can / should do?
  3. Full map instant purchase. Looking forward to it.
  4. Can't wait for a unified map for Syria / Sinai and Iraq and Afghanistan ... many missions possible....
  5. Thanks - found this!
  6. Apologies, completely forgotten the format to assign co-ords etc to a waypoint in scratchpad in the map view .... there was some characters IIRC beforehand to make it specific to a SP/WP?
  7. I think DLSS quality is actually very good.
  8. All your points are great, and yes I might hold off for the 5XXX series.
  9. This looks a decent upgrade from an RTX 3090 for VR - even though there is less memory. https://www.theregister.com/2023/12/28/nvidia_4090_returns_to_china/?td=keepreading No direct comparisons performance wise yet, but this compares the 3090 with the older, slightly slower 4080 vanilla:
  10. Hi - so just a single lighthouse and the headset for the Aero then? I am interested too and moving from a G2. What about sound?
  11. This DC is going to be amazing. I cannot wait as I enjoy SP stuff.
  12. I wonder if there is any more on how object / AI calculations would be handled by the Dynamic Campaign as ‘full fat’ AI for entities will bring CPUs to a crawl.
  13. In 95% of lower fps situations, I am GPU bound in VR, so maybe the 4090 is the way to go.
  14. Hi - but what margin of improvement could I expect the following upgrades when using VR in DCS compared to my current 5800X system with the 3090 FTW3 Ultra card etc..: Option 1: The same 5800X system as per my sig but upgrading the GPU to an RTX 4090 Option 2. Intel Core i9 14900K, 32GB DDR5, 24GB NVIDIA RTX 4090, 64GB DDR 5 5600MHz Clearly option 2 will be much faster, but by how much and by what compared to Option 1?

    Selling My Setup

Hi - selling this still powerful setup as I am going to upgrade. Scan 3XS System bought in 2021: Water-cooled Ryzen 5800X + 32GB DDR 4 3200 RAM + EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra 24 GB + Add-on PCI-e 3.1 card No drive(s) included as I am migrating to them to the new machine - but the whole rest of the PC is included in this sale. System works perfectly and the nVidia card has never been overclocked / stressed. I would say it has had below average use. Open to reasonable offers. Would prefer collection - live in the West Berkshire area.
  16. Scratchpad is to DCS what a dishwasher is to the kitchen. Indispensable.
  17. Out of interest, is there any CPU hit with it?
  18. This is superb - works like a charm, thank you.
  19. Thank you!!!
  20. Thanks - the manual inputting is a real PITA.
  21. I might have missed it, but is there a quick way in-sim to get target co-ordinated into the Viper without the laborious inputting of numbers via the ICP? Hoping to have some quick mechanism from the map view.
  22. Update seems superb, MP a very smooth experience now. Great work all.
  23. Sorry to hijack - but is there a direct comparison with the HP G2 someone has done - image quality / performance etc ... and what specs they were running with both?
  24. Thank you all for your replies - was only thinking of the AV-8B in the Falklands within the capabilities that it has … ie no A2A etc apart from Aim-9s….could still be fun.
  25. Hi - been trying to find offline campaign and mission files for the Harrier in the South Atlantic map - focusing on the Falklands conflict ideally - but there seems nothing around, unless I've missed it? Would love to fly this combination as I am re-reading Sea Harrier Over The Falklands by Commander 'Sharkey' Ward.
