Awesome and thanks! Muchas gracias!

I have been doing some investigation on the Mirage as I love the plane and is the only one I'm flying right now. Looking at videos I found one that shows some of the radar and HUD, 1- Here you can see how the Radar scope looks, I don't know it what mode is but it seems it says on the that only I can figure it out, (CVI or maybe Police? ): Is interesting to see that the TDC does not show the max and min alt of the radar antena. 2- On this it shows how the HUD looks when you have a target locked in PIC mode. Look at the distance tape on the right is different on what we have, also I think the size of the flight director ring is a lot bigger. that the one that we have. Also look at the ALT and speed are still showed at the top 3- On this part it shows how PIC mode is represented in the scope, also really cool when the antena goes over another contact that is no the one locked but cross the line of the emitting antena you see the eco, don't know if this can be modeled in DCS radar functionality. Is also interesting to see that the TDC on this mode does not show max and min alt at that point and the tracked target show info that I'm not really clear what these are. (20 alt? , 2 Closure rate? ) Also if you look at the eco of the second contact further away it has a value that I thing is the closure rate or vector speed? The other thing I was able to identify is that the scope always show in what mode is on middle top of the radar. Well I hope this helps the devs!. Thanks.

Yes I see what you mean, actually you have the same problem if you lock a "jamming" contact, I thought that was HOJ but has nothing to do with this :D Interesting, yes PIC is very susceptible to notching and to chaff don't know if this represent the actual performance of the RDI. One thing that I'm learning is that is best to lunch the 530 at range without going pic and when is close go to PIC and the 530 will pickup and guide to him. Regarding TDC over the target to go PID-PIC, Yes but It happened to me that likes to lock other contact that could over the TDC. A good question will be if you are in PID if a TDC is showed or you need to brake lock to recover the TDC. Regarding the IFF, right panel, just below the navigation and to interrogate you have to push the NWS:

Don't know if this shows the issue, but you see on the beginning on the first TWS you see how the elevation "jumped" Then it does no happen again, but I usual I have the issue that I loose the lock very easy specially when in STT. Edit: sorry I put on the youtube the time but I guess is not working, to look at what I'm saying go to 8m20s

Yes and yes... and you need a reason.. well location can give you a hint.

I anyone is interesed, here to me is a good opinion program from Reuters that general defense topics. On this one talked about the f-35. [ame= ] [/ame]

As I said several time, best experience I had with DCS! It was awesome to meet a lot of people from the red team and share long exhausting hours driving a chopper and from time to time the Mig21 Xcom , Greg, Crash, Ciribob thanks for making this!

Yesterday I woke up, 3:20 AM local time... Check the status on the web app an I decided to join to help with the 21. Awesome team work and Tibet you rock as GCI. I'm not sure who got the kill but without the teamwork the F15 will not be dead so to me is a shared kill.

Another day on the helicoper pilot life... I did carried fuel and also With Red we setup a KUB defense system close to Minvody!
-
Yes to everything ! Brilliant ideas! The only thing I will add and keep asking remove the f11 view! One last thing to add GCI should not see the enemy type of enemy plane and the pilot name.

This is a huge disappointment!! having to manage troops with CA module could be awesome on this kind of campaigns.
-
In 1.5.3 when I lock a contact and I turn off the radar with the contact lock the tone stays on.
-
Plus 100000000000000000000000 on this.

Arma rv engine is a totally different thing And I know and have vast experience on dedicated server. Arma rv I think does not have anything to compare with dcs.
-
Please do, I don't want to be the cause of people having a bad experience. As I said blue flag is the best thing that could happen to dcs and I'm ok ok to wait when the same mission is in another place. Hey I waited 11 years to have somethings like a dinamic campaign and can wait more ! I only dream that Ed will dedicate all the efforts on improving the engine and mp and leave the modules to third parties

Is not a bout quantity, is about what you need to do. First you need to close the FARP and then drop troops to capture it. But remember ... the FARP has engineers that will repair it if you don't drop troops. Is all in the SOP.

Dead I agree on what you said & I think Marverick / sirscorpion experience worth more than any theory. Going back with a "normal netcode" packet loss "should" only affect the player that is having it and not make everyone else warp like crazy. Maybe hear is were DCS netcode fails to id and make the CPU to spike... why beats me. What usually Network code does is when there are packet loss it predict the next position of the object base on the last know parameters OR flicker / warp until it receives a next valid packet. Ping is latency. Basically I live in ARG, I will always have 300 of ping with EU server because that what i takes the packets to travel. All our connections goes to US (180 ping) and from there we jump to EU. Now, I know the QoS of my provider is enterprise grade with a fiber connected to level 3 infrastructure http://maps.level3.com/default/#.Vs5PNigrKUk What this should cause is latency.. like I will se the missile on my screen 300 MS later that actually hit me and also the server will register my inputs 300 ms later and transmit that to everyone.
-
Thanks for explaining this is and is great that you shared this knowledge. I don't know if it make sense from the IT perspective but to me experience worth much more than any theory !
-
Maverick this is very interesting & thanks for sharing! So what you are actually talking is not "ping" but QoS and packet flows which are a totally different thing! What you need to monitor is fluctuation on packet flow. Side note: I can show the same behavior on the server after and hour on the session with most of the clients with and avg of 120
-
You have any valid metrics or explanation from ED that backs your statement above? Again I have no knowledge on ED network code but what you state from network perspective it does not sound right. Actually based on your stated above everyone who has a lower ping should see things in "slow motion", and I mean everything even moving from point a to b. PD: I don't want to start a flame war I Want to understand how it works
-
Agree, but let's keep the server crashing out of the equation.. is something that is not intended and BlueFlag guys are looking into fix it. I understand IT network very well but I can't pretend to know ED Network code. Logically ping does not affect the server it affects the client. What affect the server and everyone is "DATA LOSS" or packet loss or not enough bandwidth to handle the connections. THIS what cause warping. PING creates latency that means in your screen you moved away but still the missile hit you because on the server side did not received your command.
-
Now this make sense.. So High ping is not a valid measure for this, you can even have 40 ms ping but have a lots of packet loss.... and I saw this in many people that actually creates the WARP that people attribute to ping.
-
This is a problem... a Squadron.. needs to be aware that they need to move fuel too not only get into a plane and have fun. Please explain to me why the ping will change the server stability ? Usually this is related with scripts and the amount of thing throw into the mission. Also if you have any link to ED explanation that ping affects stability I will greatly appreciate. Suggestion I will place is make the crates disapear after X amount of time when they are in FARP or Base. I see crates pile up like crazy on the FARPs and Bases. Another one is limit the CSAR time available.

Awesome job guys and thanks for the effort for putting this up!
