Triple monitors, FOV for the Spit,
Gpruitt54 replied to Gpruitt54's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Point is that it works as a single display. No matter how, I only care about the results. -
Triple monitors, FOV for the Spit,
Gpruitt54 replied to Gpruitt54's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
I've been using triple displays with DCS since forever. -
Excellent post. I will change my display settings to 1 screen instead of 3 screens. Got it. Now, about the FoV. I've looked at every setting, and I have not seen any settings for Field of View. Are the FoV details located inside an .LUA file? If so, which .LUA and can you talk about what kinds of FoV numbers work best? Thanks for your post. It really helped me move toward what I've been trying to resolve.

Can't fly level (trim not working?)
Gpruitt54 replied to JG4_Sputnik's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
I recently bought the Spitfire also and discovered the same thing with the up and down trim controls. When changing the trim settings, I can see the trim wheel moving, but the plane upward movement does not change. Additionally, when viewing trim tabs on the ground, only the elevator trim tabs move. The trim tabs that control up and down movement on the tail horizontal surface do not move at all. Although, the trim wheel does rotate. -
Interesting in that this thread was posted 3 years ago. 3 years later, I find that I am having the same issue with my three monitor setup, with a completely different module. I guess this mans this issue has not been addressed at all? Note, this is only an issue with the straight wing WWII planes. Is this a Field of View issue, zoom issue, or is it something else? Is there a solution for using triple monitors and eliminating the fish eye lens affect?
-
I am running Triple monitors driven by an EVGA 1070. In settings, I have selected my displays as a 3 screen setup. Resolution is 5760X1080. The aspect ratio is 5.666666667. Here is what my screen looks like in the Spit Fire: As you can see, this is very wrong and I cannot see a way to fix the field of view. If I use the zoom keys, it only makes things worse; way too close to the HUD, or way too much fish eye effect. This happens also with the P51. My guess is that this goes for all the straight wing WWII area planes. Is there a way to fix this FOV issue.

I too am trying to fix an issue with Field of View. In my path "C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Config", there is no "View" folder and no "SnapView.ula."
-
Thanks for the post. Yes, I was able to resolve the issue with your input.
-
Thanks!

I am looking in the options.ula file. I am using using note pad. The content is a real jumble, not formatted at all. What is the best application to use with .ula files?
-
I have been trying to resolve an aspect ratio issue. while experimenting, the software has allowed me to create a situation where I cannot get my self out of. As shown in the photo, I cannot access the button to initiate any corrections in the settings. How do I fix this? How does the software allow this to happen in the first place?

Thanks DCS for making the F18 available for the free weekend trial. I was able to try out the awesome plane, and I even managed to land on the carrier a couple of times. Amazing fun. Though I dog fight like crap, the F18 is great fun to fly. I would love to buy the F18 module one day.
-
Can that be done using a simple means?

Are you aware of any mods to change how long to display the text box in the upper-right of the screen during tutorials? Currently, the text fades out even if you don't press the space bar to continue the tutorial. I would like that content to remain on the screen with no timeout, and remain until I press the space bar.
-
This question is for all DCS flight tutorials: The text that displays in the upper-right of the screen displays for a very short period of time, and goes away even if you don't press the space bar to continue. I would like those screens to remain visible for a much longer period of time. Is there a parameter in some .INI file where I can change the display time of the text boxes during tutorials?

What new feature of the Hornet are you most looking forward to?
Gpruitt54 replied to Wags's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
A more attractive module price would be an excellent incentive for a lot of us setting on the sidelines, wanting to buy this module. -
Thank You Thank you for doing the F-18 guide. I believe it will be very helpful.
-
OK great news. I will log into DCS, look in the module manager, and initiate the installation of the free weekend F18 module. Does that cover it?
-
SU-33, Persian Gulf, and F18 are communicated as being part of the free weekend content. The communication about the free weekend offer does not indicate that these are separate items.
-
How should I install the free weekend content if I already have DCS World with an existing SU-33 and Persian Gulf maps modules?
-
In the beginning of the installation process I pointed to my default DCS World folder. In response, there was a message indicating that installing to the default folder may overwrite some content in that folder structure. I was concerned about overwriting existing content with these free weekend module items. I should halt the installation and instead point to my default DCS World folder for the installation of the free weekend content? Bty, I already have the SU-33 and Persian Gulf maps. What happens when I install the free weekend version of these modules into my existing folder, will I not overwrite them with the free weekend files?
-
I just started the download. I wanted to install into my existing DCS folder, but a message indicated that it may overwrite existing content. I did not want to jack-up my existing modules. So, I started the install of the free weekend content into a separate folder. I am assuming the free weekend content is a stand alone version of the material that does not depend on an existing installation of DCS World; Yes/No? I am excited about getting the change to try out the F18. This free weekend idea may be the spark that gets me to buy this rather expensive module. DCS, the price may be preventing many of us from buying this module. Just saying. Maybe a holiday sale price reduction?

I like to use the training tutorials. During the tutorials the text panel only displays for about 1 minute. This is IMO, far to short. The text panel should remain displayed until I press the space bar to proceed. Is there a way to make these panels display for a longer period of time?

During game launch, I am getting the following message dialog box "Authorization failed Failed to get authorization data. Error code is: 409 No saved authorization found" After this, I am asked to provide a serial number for every module I own. I've owned DCS for many years, and I've never been asked to provide all of my serial numbers. Has anyone experienced this, and what is the solution???
