  1. Does model viewer still work under dcs world? Is it enough to directly launch .exe file only?
  2. Ok, glad to know that. Today good news only: first of all the autoupdater has been very fast (2 min.) since files downloaded yesterday seemed to be still into temp folder :) Then autoupdate has suceeded too! The issue was caused simply by firewall blocking. It prompted before what he had to do but I didn't see it because I was busy and I left d/l completing alone since it was very time consuming. So I didn't say to procede with applying the update and after a lot it left the error message I said, i.e. unable to APPLY the update... :music_whistling: Anyway thx again for every support c0ff.
  3. Thx. Just one thing more: my installation is modded a lot. Could this affect the autoupdate? I remember that Falcon 4 AF patches didn't apply if mods were present: is it maybe the same here?
  4. Not now!!! The autoupdater made the d/l in more than 2 hours and I'm almost to going bed now, since I'll wake up early for work tomorrow. I'll try again tomorrow after I'll be back home and will let you know. However the error message was exactly the one I quoted in my first post. Thx for support anyhow.

  6. I still have 1.2.1 and the update attempt failed ("unable to apply update:error?"). I 'll try to d/l the files and launch 1.2.2 by myself. But have I to uninstall 1.2.1 before or owerwrite just like updater does?
  7. Ok, done by myself. It was the sky.fx file from the mod "realistic sun 1.2.4", made on v. 1.2.0. So it seems not fully compatible with v. 1.2.1, but the training mission now starts again since I've restored that file only, leaving all the others modded files. Not yet tested if the whole mod is out now nor ,if still working, what are the effects of a single no-modded-file presence.
  8. I had CTD every time I tried to play an A-10 training video. Su-25 and Ka-50 training videos not yet tested but hotfix readme said that thei issue would be fixed in the next patch, the 1.2.1 I suppose... :huh: Maybe su-25 & ka-50 videos hotfix could be good for A-10 videos too?
  9. Ok, and what if I had BS1, then installed dcsWorld+BS2 upgrade: could I uninstall the old useless BS1 to save some HD space? This would affect how BS2 u.g. works in dcs World?
  10. What about A-10's new module? Can I install it into DCS world's folder holding the old WH's version beside? And, most important, what about WH's activations limited number? Updating to 1.1.0.8 I've already lost one activation more besides the addictional provided with that patch so I don't want to risk of burning another one.
  11. I'm thinking about a trigger to activate for JTAC vehicle at all, with its own advanced action "FAC-assign group". But I never tested that, so I'm not sure it's possible... :huh::music_whistling:
  12. I'm trying to make my own USAF numbers for A-10 WH editing ones from existing skins. I want to make white numbers with just little less transparency than "tactnumbers-usaf-light_white" I've found in other A-10's skins. I'm using gimp to editing for and I couldn't do it. As first step I've copyed white numbers as new layer, then I've given more transparency (but less than "light-white"). Following skin tutorial I've converted template to bmp, then to dds file, but after the first step I had a bmp file fully white. Trying again the best I could do is only fully white numbers. Could someone please suggest to me the right way to make my own white numbers with no full opacity? Thx in advance for any help.
  13. I've tested ship/sub sinking in SP and it causes CTD also using strafing or mav. Now I want to test GBUs asap to see if they are useful as you say.
  14. I believe it would be impossible heading all laser guided weapons without targeting pod. Did you try to edit values on detection.lua and skill factors.lua in scripts/AI folder?
  15. I don't believe it's possible. I've read a lot of time ago a post from someone ED guy (I don't remember what is the thread at this moment) and he said big planes can't be in more-than-one-ship flights due just to their dimension. That could be show graphic overlays most of all when they taking off together side by side or maybe when they taxiing too. I also made a self-made mission using a bomber squadron, but I could get it only putting them in as four coordinated but distinct 1-ship flights: that seems to be the only way to manage a lot of big planes together on DCS A-10WH, now and in the future... :(

According to limit set into training mission BFT 01 http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/38337/ you would have to be ready for t/o into 8 mins starting from cold & dark and making full system check&set. :smilewink: At the beginning it's a great challenge:joystick:, but after a lot of failures now I usual am ready for t/o into 6-8 mins. :smartass: :thumbup: The secret is to make some weapon & defence settings only in the first part of the flight.

  18. Thx very much!! This is very useful for my purpose. One thing: I already have gimp's dds plugin, as I've written in above post. So have I to edit the template anyway? Or maybe could I open an existing .dds file, editing and directly save it again as dds? Is the conversion into bmp a really needed step? And another thing more: have I to open A-10.EDM? In which way? Maybe using modelviewer's prompt opened by the batch file?
  19. Yes I did. Didn't I do? Tried to deselect the "import mipmap" option when opening .dds file and actually I had just one layer. Is it really something wrong? And one more thing: why tutorials always recommend to convert .dds files into .bmp before editing and then save them agin into .dds? Is it really needed to edit skins for? I have gimp's .dds plugin so I could open directly the skin from dds, edit it and then save without any conversion. Is it another wrong way? Why? Thx for any help.
  20. I'm trying to make my first own skin. I'm using gimp to edit and, as I read in some 3d here, it should work fine. Into skins tutorials I read also I first need to save .dds file into .bmp to edit it for. However the skin I have into my DCS A-10 have a lot of layers, one for each resolution and .bmp don't support multiple layers, so I'm not sure what have to do now. Turorial seems not to consider multiple layers for multiple resolutions, but only about the same resolution... Need some help, please!!
  21. Would be nice too ships and boats were featured as far as ground vehicles... It's really spectacular when a M109 is setting to fire: gun support opens and then turning down... gun rises... It would be enough to see the wakes at least...
  22. Did someone try to make speedboats landing? I wasn't able: they everytime stop when are 1200 m from the shore. Does someone know how to lead a speedboat to the beach?
  23. I'm trying to simulate a spetsnaz landing from speedboat, why I cannot make the boat to reach the beach? It stop everytime at 1200 from the shore: is it normal? And one thing more: all ships and boats haven't any wake. Is it normal in a sim where raindrops' circles on the sea surface are featured too?
