  1. Found some, thread may be closed :)
  2. Hi all, I'm looking for a pair of rudder pedals to improve my DCS experience. I don't care about the brand, as long as they are in working order. I live in the Netherlands, so due to import and shipping costs unfortunately only European sellers are an option for me. If you have a pair of pedals that you are willing to sell, please contact me :) We'll talk prices etc. through Personal Messages. Thanks in advance! Koekemoeroetoe
  3. I understand why you thought it would exist and share your thoughts. I think that it doesn't exist because there is no real need for such a high PPI on 'normal' screens. With a lot of portable devices, you sit so clos in front of the screen that a higher PPI has it's advantages. On a normal screen though, the user stares at it from such a distance that a higher PPI is barely noticeable. The only notice might be that you get lower FPS in games, since your GPU has a harder time keeping up with the relatively high resolution (compared to a regular 1920*1200 display). It's a Dutch website, but I'll post it anyways. Clicking the link should get you right into the right webpage, with searchfilters. http://tweakers.net/categorie/344/monitoren/producten/#filter:JYw7CoAwEETvMrVIIoKaAwgWVp4gxFUW4odoIYbc3Q1W83nMRBxhptAz-RkG10mOF3b25mNH8cNJykFo0xU47UoTvwSjlZIY2NHIO4yEPO7Z3xQumAhdVyrrljGqspW_zT7Z16VCSukD If not, adjust the slider that says "Schermdiagonaal" (Screen diagonal) to max 24" and at "Sortering" (on top of the result list) select "Resolutie". This will sort the list and put the highest resolution on top.
  4. +1 Double checked it and, at least in the Netherlands, the highest resolution on a 24" or smaller screen is 1920*1200. Smallest and cheapest 2560*1440 screen available here is 27" and costs €440 (roughly $570).
  5. Thanks ddocg! Unfortunately the seller only ships to the UK, but I live in the Netherlands. Even if he's willing to send it over the me, I'd probably have to pay huge shipping costs + some extra duties at the border.
  6. Yeah, a clever system should be able to use the X/Y axis for the rudder... Will see if I can get a cheap joystick somewhere...
  7. Hmm, looks good. Now I come across a second problem: the cheapest joystick with a Z axis will cost me 40 to 50 euro's. So after that, I need to buy materials to modify it + find time to modify it... Maybe 100 euro's for a complete set of pedals, including toe brake, isn't that much after all... Still have to find that amount of money somewhere though :music_whistling:
  8. Thanks for the reply, interesting topic! I'm not that much of an electronics man, studying Mechanical Engineering, so mechanical systems are more 'my thing'. To avoid having to solder my own chip etc, I figure I'd be able to use an old joystick with twist functionality as a sensor, right?
  9. Hey all, I'm looking to enhance my DCS/flight sim experience through adding a rudder/pedals set. I'm currently flying with TrackIR 4 and a Saitek X52, using the X52's stick twist as rudder. Now, my problem is that I don't have a lot of money to spend, probably something like €50,- (being a student sometimes sucks...), but the cheapest rudder set I can find are the Saitek Pro Flight Rudder pedals, which cost €100,- Are there any other, cheaper, rudder pedals? If not, can I make my own relatively cheap (I've got the possibility to use an CnC mill, lathe's etc.)? I've already looked, but the 2nd handed market in the Netherlands is really small, and those selling 2nd handed rudders still ask like 80 euro's for them. Although I love flight sims, I don't have the time to play them for hours and hours, so something cheap will work out for me. After 1,5 years, when I graduate and get a job, I'll buy some real Flight Sim gear (TM Warthog etc.). Hope someone can help me out. Thanks in advance! Koekemoeroetoe
  10. Well, that sucks... Any idea what it might cost? Same price as the DCS modules, or more than that?
  11. You can buy it on Steam, retrieve the CD key, download the module from the DCS site and then activate it with the Steam key. Source for that ED is charging us for the new terrain? Might be that I missed something, but I thought that EDGE/Nevada map (I think you mean that with 'new terrain') will be free for DCS module owners?
  12. I don't think you can compare games like Battlefield/Call of Duty etc. with DCS products. I play Battlefield ever since BF1942, and looooooots of other games, but those games are just not comparable with DCS. The DCS devs probably have to put the same, maybe even more effort into building a DCS title a la A-10C Warthog, than that DICE has to put into the production of BF 4. IMHO that rectifies the (what some people find steep) prices, and IMHO those prices aren't steep at all. That $50 is a lot of money, of course, but it's more than worth it. If $50 is too much for you, no problem, nobody will resent you. Just wait for the DCS product to go into sale and then buy it.
  13. You'll have a lot of fun with the Warthog, Mavericks are cool, but that GAU-8 is a beast!
  14. Bought my last missing piece: Black Shark 2. Now I'm the proud owner of all DLC's, including Flaming Cliffs 3 :pilotfly: Played the original shark for hours, fired BS2 up and is still my favorite... Now with all the modules in my possession there's just one thing left; find some spare time :D
