Nope. Go in editor, make the temperature cold. Drop an F-15C somewhere and set it as player. Set speed and altitude to maximum. Fuel to about 8%. No armament, no guns, no chaff. You are basically at empty weight. Then just pull up on full AB, head for 100k.

You know what flies alot like a Cessna 172? A Cessna 152. 20 years difference. Both are mach 2 energy-based multi-role fighters, if I HAD to pick an FM to use out of the ones available if I couldnt make my own, likely the F-16A or maybe the F-5E. Nothing in the game is like it, but some are closer then others.

Considering the other aircraft he could have chosen. The are both Mach 2.1 energy based fighters, yes?

The bottom 3 numbers mean red, blue, green. 255 is the maximum value you can put there. So if I put (255, 0, 0) it would be red. (0, 255, 0) is blue. (0, 0, 0) is white. Follow? Colours look kinda.. uglyish though. I just made mine grey. Learned this through a course forced upon me in school (grade 9 computer class, sucky course), so don't call me a programmer. Read it again. Change blue lines to "0" for tick marks only. Leave red lines alone. Disregard black lines.

This is for Flaming Cliffs 2, but I imagine it's cross compatible between all games. Changes view distances to realistic ranges for the human eye, makes the colour grey only. If you only want tick marks, just change the numerals for the units to zero, except the last one.

It's a lose lose situation. Labels on, cheap and ugly IFF and inhuman advantage that ruins immersion. Labels off, you can't see anything because it is nothing but a pixel until you are within crashing range. ED > Game > Config > View > Labels > Open (notepad) Mod view distance to something realistic (6000 for aircraft, 3000 for missiles, 4000 for ground targets, 8000 for ships) and make the colours grey (200, 200, 200) for both sides. There, perfect. Take matters into your own hands.

You guys were right about the model for this thing though, hot damn. Engines be spinning and everything. I thought they didn't spin on Su-25T, but I guess this problem was affecting it too (just harder to notice).

Don't it's fixed. Just changed the visibility distance to Low to Medium.

2 requests for future ED titles that I think are desperately needed. 1. Ambience I haven't played A-10C yet so I don't know if this was fixed, but in every ED title, I felt alone. The skies felt so lonely even though plenty of things were flying in it. Nobody but my wingman/tower spoke, and only when I acknowledged them. I can't hear any background chatter, as if my radio is dead. Sitting parked on the apron, you can't hear any birds chirping or wind howling or rain tapping. My pilot is completely mute and doesn't like breathing either. It sort of bores me to only have the sound of turbofans accompany me for 95% of the flight. For future titles, it would be nice to have ambience on the airstrips, it would be nice for ALL friendly units to make call outs when they, say, fire a missile even without triggers. Include the sound of the pilot breathing, a la Falcon 4. And before somebody says, "LOL! NO!", then just turn it off. 2. 'Aid' Labels When it comes to labels, you can choose 2 options. a) cheat by giving yourself EZ Mode IFF, and ruin your graphics with uglyness b) handicap yourself by not be able to spot and identify targets at 3km, even though the human eye could do much better So I think we need another label option besides on/off that allows us to realisically find targets, because in real life at 5000m, targets aren't 2 pixels that blend into the terrain. Here is what the "middle" option should look like. i) ships appear as tick marks at 8000m, names appear at 4000m ii) planes appear as tick marks at 7000m, names appear at 3500m iii) helicopters appear as tick marks at 6000m, names appear at 3000m iv) ground targets appear as tick marks at 5000m, names appear at 2500m v) missiles appear as tick marks at 4000m, names appear at 2000m vi) all labels, friend or foe, appear grey to remove EZ-IFF and not look terrible That is all.

Thats TAS, not METAR, a little more... uh... insane.

GASP! I like it! Will this replace another airplane? Not that it would bother me at all! FC2 is able to show a mouse cursor in the cockpit, can we use that to start it up? Will it have its own flight model? Sorry for being behind. I ask alot of questions.
