  1. I've got it working now. I unchecked 'Disable Aero Interface'. Unfortunately, upon exit, Windows Explorer crashes and has to be restarted. Windows Explorer will thereafter periodically crash until I restart my computer. As for hardware changes affecting activations, the only thing I've done since installation is remove 8 gb of RAM (8 gb left) due to a bad memory module. I'm waiting on a replacement module. Thanks for your help.
  2. In World w/A-10 I am unable to click on anything in the cockpit. The brakes (on rudder) do not work at all and the rudder control is poor. Also there are some graphical glitches. Besides these issues itjust seems 'sloggy' and 'laggy'. Another thing I noticed last night is that when I tried to exit I brought up the exit menu with 'Escape' and was unable to mouse-click on any of the options. I had to do this several times (maybe 10) before I was finally able to click on 'Exit'.
  3. I uninstalled all of my DCS stuff last night. I then installed DCS World (1.2.2) and the same problems as the first time. I then reinstalled A-10 (there goes another activation) and the stand-alone works fine.
  4. I have the same concerns. I tried DSC World many months ago and the A-10 just did not work out well for me. I went back to 1.1.1.1. I've been hesitant to try World again because I've been happy with just the A-10.
  5. I agree with this. Make this thread a sticky. I can't believe DCS hasn't yet put out a printed manual. This thread shows that there are many people that want one and that would buy one.
  6. So sorry to hear this, rome. My sympathies to you. John
  7. Thanks, guys. Sorry about that. I appreciate you moving it. John
  8. Diamond Multimedia, ATI Radeon HD 4890, MPN 4890PE51G, UPC 757448008173 Perfect working condition and excellent physical condition. Both bought at the same time; two years old. They've been run in Crossfire mode (obviously) since I built my current system. Originally used with Vista, I upgraded to Window 7 when it was released and they work with no problem in Win 7. I've replaced them with a HD6890 and I plan to add one more HD6890 to my system as finances permit. $70 each or $60 each if you buy both at the same time. Crossfire bridge and various video adapters included. Shipping from Georgia (USA) additional. John EDIT: Please don't hesitate to make a reasonable offer. These are great cards.
  9. TMWH vs X65F Mower - no worries... it's all personal preference anyways. I thought long and hard before buying the TMWH... I thought it was too specialized. But I plan on flying the A-10C most of the time. At $500 I couldn't do it but at $350 it was a no-brainer. I also fly other sims. I'm in the process of making a paper template that will go over the base of the throttle. I'll be able to change the labeling of the switches/buttons using that overlay/template. With the programming capabilities of TARGET I'll set the switches to whatever I want. Along with that template, I think the TMWH will make a superb HOTAS for any sim simply because of it's excellent touch and feel. I've been flying with it for several days now and I can say hands-down that this is the best joystick/throttle I've ever flown with. It will be difficult for me to go back to anything else after this. But, again, it's all personal preference. I've got my X65F (which is the second best HOTAS I've ever used) up for sale on Craigslist. If you're interested, I can give you an excellent price on it... I'd rather it go to a dedicated simmer like you than someone else. John
  10. I've owned an X65F for a couple of months. I've been trying to love it... there are a lot of good things to say about it. However I had centering problems that made flying the 'Hog difficult. Yesterday I found out that Frys was selling the Warthog for $350. At $500, it was too much for me. At $350 I could not pass it by. The build quality and feel of both the throttle and joystick are superb. There are no doubts this is the best HOTAS I've ever owned. I've been a Saitek user over the years. I don't want to disparage the X65F because I really like it but there is no comparison to the TM. I flew a number of flights last night and they were much more smoother and easier than I've flown before. The buttons on both the throttle and joystick do seem much harder to press than I care for. The slew stick on the throttle is also touchy. Otherwise everything feels fine. I haven't flown it with anything other than DCS A10 so will have to wait to pass judgment there. Though I haven't programmed in TARGET yet it looks much more comprehensive than SST (which I hated). I'm very happy with the Warthot HOTAS. For $350 there's really no comparison. John A. 11. I picked up the TM Warthog yesterday at Frys. At $350 I could not pass this by. The build quality and feel of both the throttle and joystick are superb. There are no doubts this is the best HOTAS I've ever owned. I've been a Saitek user over the years including getting the X65F a few months ago. I don't want to disparage the X65F because I really like it but there is no comparison to the TM. I've been having centering problems with the X65F and it's made flying the 'Hog very difficult. I flew a number of flights last night and they were much more smoother and easier than I've flown before. The buttons on both the throttle and joystick seem much harder to press than I care for. The slew stick on the throttle is also touchy. Otherwise everything feels fine. Installation of drivers and TARGET went without a hitch. Updated firmware on both throttle and joystick with no problems. DCS A-10 picked up the HOTAS with no problem and populated all of the buttons in the right spot. The only issue was the trim button was set to POV so I had to change that to trim functions. Also the pinkie button (#3) was set to change the stick to trim... I changed that to nosewheel steering. I got member/serial #00016! How'd that happen? Throttle: 00016, tag barcode = 501T108A000016 Joystick: 02790, tag barcode = 500T108A002790 John A. 12. I got one yesterday from Frys in Atlanta. What a deal!
  13. Toby23 - I don't see the document pack at the link you provided. Am I missing something? ~John
  14. It took me hours too to resize/rescale my controls after 1.09. I'm hoping for Icemaker to get Easy Monitor Configurator updated. 8-)
