Hello, could somebody confirm that either this is the expected behaviour or a bug regarding the CBU-97 employment on the SE? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5xYt9BSjnk If I aim at the target CBUs fall short, if I correct and aim ahead of the targets (2nd and 3rd pass especially) they fall on target. I'm aware that on the release notes it is specified there are problems above 1500ft, but apparently they are also present under that altitude, unless I'm doing something wrong. Thanks.

I will second this, it's my favourite module by far now! I own a good share of them but none has the mix of AA \ AG \ systems and sheer beauty that this F-15E has! And we are on the first early access version, great things will come, I'm sure! Keep up with the great work!

Agreed that it would be great to have some kind of DTC management, even before ED delivers its own solution. Honestly, wouldn't have to be complex, a simple save\load option would suffice. It would be even better to be able to save various presets by name!

Do you mean the altitude on George's in-game HUD? If so I think it switches from RDR to BARO around 1300-1400fts. I would like to be able to control that with an additional shortcut, since sometimes is useful to just switch from one to the other without having to keep the altitude UP button pressed for a long time. -

Agreed, amazes me how ED can think dots and spotting are not broken while they completely are, especially on higher resolutions. And what fascinates me, is that these are long lasting problems which would require a pretty easy temporary fix while waiting for a definitive solution (like the bomb splash damage) or even better, have already been patched up by the community. I'd rather have slightly too easy spotting, than the situation we face now where you can literally lose track of an object in front of you just because it has passed through your canopy frame for a second (problem is particullary bad in the Mig-21 and F-14 for example) or because you glanced at your instruments. And I don't buy the "spotting is hard IRL" thing, since living near an airport makes it pretty clear to me how "hard" spotting but more notabily tracking airplanes is.- 258 replies

Hitting a target at 600m is all but unrealistic. And I would like to see footage of anyone here making the same shots at least three times in a row.

It's not, I checked with TacView. The AI starts shooting at you at 500m, no matter what angle you are crossing its gunsight.

Apart from having different systems, how is FC3's Su-25A better than the DCSW Su-25T?

Seriously? A human making full 90°angled shots at 500m? Find me one. Honestly is one of the LEAST convincing to me. Just for the fact that it goes godlike with snapshots in a hard turn, its plane never feels on the edge, its engine never needs to slow down and it flies silk smooth during a dogfight it make me feel like I'm fighting a robot, not a human. Just check any gun camera of WW2 and tell me how many deflection shots at those angles you see. The greatest part of kills were made at a short distance, from behind, in a turn. I much prefer Il-2 sturmovik's AI with its endless barrel rolls, because at least, i makes mistakes, it crashes sometimes if put under pressure, it stalls its planes and it doesn't seem to have an unfair advantage the whole freaking time. On top of that, each time I get hit, apparently the gunsight is dead without any logical reason. Here you can't even try to escape to gain some distance, because its sniper abilities will get you killed at an unbielevable distance if you fly straight. I'm sorry, but I think ED should really work harder on the AI part, and I'm not just talking about enemy planes, but especially about wingmen in any of their products.

It might not be cheating, but it has abilities which probabily 1% of the pilots in ww2 might have had.

Do you have any material regarding E management in a WW2 plane, or even better, in the P-51? I would be especially interested in cornering speeds and such.

Same need to throw things here Viamanaman. Although I've noticed that the best way to fight him is like fighting a Bf-109 with a Hurricane in Il-2. You just let him build his energy advantage, then as he dives into you you slowly build angles on him. Then, at last you pull into him as he comes into firing range. The next step is to drop down two notches of flaps and start rolling scissors. You have to be really good then at snapshots, to land some hits on him whenever he crosses your sights. That's the only way I can manage to actually do some harm to the AI plane.

Also it has perfect engine management, no overheating, no lose of sight, no stalling and no spinning and apparently has as much energy as it needs to get onto the moon. As boring and frustrating as it can be.

Wow, that Flanker model is simply amazing! But it is still WIP, am I right? Also, the SFM is something that bothers me a bit, but I could overcome that. Did they improve it at all in FC3 or is it just the same as the old FC2?

Hi to everyone, I'm really thinking about buying FC3, although from what I read on the boards it seems that ED is really focusing on the F-15C, not working too much on the remaining planes. To me, the only interest I could have in FC3 is for the russian planes, the A-10 and the Eagle can be locked in the hangar for what I care. Now, I've seen some bad pictures of poorly modeled and textured Su-27 which was really a let down for me. Is this module of any interest for someone who wants to fly with the aforementioned jets? Or should I just wait for someone to make a DCS: Mig-29 module? (I would really pay heavy cash for that last option :P ) Regards.
