1. First weekend was great, looking forward to the next weekend!
2. you make it exciting :smilewink:
3. Difficult to say. I'd say no because I broadcast SPI very often. In this special moment... I don't know. "Operation Bactria" uses 12 random missions
4. I think it was the exact moment when I broadcasted SPI. Then the clients reported "DCS is not working anymore..." and seconds later I got the same popup
5. Liked your whiskey missions and it's good to know you didn't stop working on more.
6. You have to push the lase button (same as NWS) and then you'll be able to see it with your night vision goggles enabled.
7. I don't know what this thread is about. I flew IL2 from first beta till last year and state: netcode is much better in DCS. Formation flying is a blast in DCS.
8. Tested it, too. Quite impossible to rendezvous with the tanker. TAS=403kt @25k ASL. Just open the mission editor and edit speed of the tanker more to your likes.
9. Legs = way between waypoints. From takeoff to first target is just enough time to get in formation and fence in, then the action starts. I'm aware that a lot of people like it this way. Personally I would prefer a larger distance between homeplate and target area. For example: t/o in Vaziani, divert: Kutaisi What I really like: the pressure you're under when the 2 convoys are closing in to the crashsite. Even when you attack them they don't stop to get slaughtert.
10. I flew the mission yesterday with two squad mates. We had a lot of fun with it. Good design, good story. Recommend it to everyone. Legs are a little bit short for my taste. Will surely fly again. And again.
11. Annoying my squad mate Mav with low flyby's :pilotfly::P
12. Have a look at the speed your a/c yaws. You can neglect the additional speed one wing has over the other. The lift of the wing on the side you yaw to is reduced due to vortex of the fuselage.
13. Stunning. Excellent, mates! Thanks a lot.
14. 33rd would encourage postponing the event until we have a more stable release. Thanks for all the effort so far.
15. At 33rd we keep in sim coms in english, too. I am confident that won't be a problem. But reading technical military stuff in a foreign language is more challenging. No worry, we will ask if we find something unintelligible.
16. ...not to mention the translation to foreign languages :music_whistling:
17. Posted it here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1375598&postcount=67
18. Let me hand in our badge for the 33rd
19. Superb idea! 33rd Airbasewing -a german squad existing since the beginnings of LOMAC- is looking forward to such an event. If there is a way how we can support you let us know. Please be so kind to include us in your mailing list for further information: info theATsign 33rd.de Wireman www.33rd.de
20. You should make your decission in first place by what you prefer: fixed wing or choppers. Then buy either DCS A10 or BS2. FC2 offers a variety of fixed wings, but its not compatible with DCS and FC3 (which will be compatible) is on the way and will be released in 2012. FC2 is "arcade" compared to DCS. After that decission, both DCS modules offer a stunning experience of immersion while you study the basics and get more and more sophisticated with the aircraft and its habits. It is very helpfull to join one of the squads that fit your needs best and have nice people. Some squads offer step-by-step training from the first hour of flight to LCR (limited combat ready) and CR (combat ready) and beyond. DCS is no exception: most fun is to fly together in a team with nice people you would also drink a beer with in the evenings. Don't expect to be "king of the hill" in 3 weeks... it takes lots of flight hours even for the basics, but you will enjoy every second. If you like flightsims and are willing to spend hours and hours of learning and flying, DCS is by far unrivaled in combat flight sim.
21. Before entering the OA I help myself with the following: 1. Acquire wind heading and speed in briefing and/or CDU (WP page) at low alt 2. Set wind heading on HSI with "Heading Set" or "Course" knop (if not needed otherwise, I set "Course" in wind direction and egress heading with "Heading Set") 3. Crosscheck with indication given by smoke from chimneys or burning targets 4. When desired target is point in TGP check with north arrow indicated in TGP right top 5. interpolate wind heading and speed to achieve new TGP point Setting the wind in the HSI is an easy way to visualize wind direction at a glance. As a pilot you always want to keep things as easy as possible to have highest possible (brain) resources available.
22. Could work the same way as with rockets in CCRP. But it's not in the real a/c so it should not be in DCS.
