  1. I believe the post you were looking for is this one... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36246
  2. Unfortunately, there is no basic flight mission. You can easily create a simple flight by loading the editor and placing a helicopter on an air field. Be sure its a ka-50 from the drop down menus and is set to player. You can also choose how you start the mission whether airborne, start from ramp, or start from run way. This will be just a simple free flight type of mission.
  3. You should try turning on civ traffic in the map options :D
  4. Black Shark2 has been released, but is not available on steam. It is available here on Eagle Dynamics website. Upgrade right now is 19.99... I highly recommend the upgrade. LOTS of changes over bs1 including the ability to fly in the same game as the Warthog. It also supports a new trigger system that allows for interactive cockpit training, which I am in the process of creating.
  5. I would love a trigger that could target a specific unit to "set failure." Currently, the set failure command only works in single player mode and does not have an effect in multiplayer.
  6. I honestly do not know why they did not include training missions like in A-10C for the Black Shark. It would have been nice however, I am grateful that my time and efforts have helped so many people learn to fly the aircraft. These missions have even helped me learn to the fly the aircraft better. As for the job, I have recently found myself without one and could really use it haha.. but seriously, I doubt they would offer me a job doing this  Thank you for your support though!
  7. It is possible to do with the trigger system but difficult. It would not be so much highlighting gauges, but checking the aircraft's speed, altitude, whether its in the zone or not. It would require some skill from the pilot to do. I have been looking into doing an autopilot training one. It will require some flight skill of the pilot too because they will have to be in control of the aircraft and still follow instructions. But its a work in progress.
  8. I was thinking about doing a datalink mission as well. I am open for suggestions however.
  9. I am working on the countermeasures system first. The ABRIS is a bit more technical as there is a lot of information. I'm still doing some research to figure out how to properly relay relevant information and still keep it simple. The countermeasures will be up later tonight or tomorrow. I will keep my first post updated as I go.
  10. First off, welcome to the game. I would highly recommend upgrading to black shark 2 though. It is unfortunately not released on steam. But, you can find it on sale here at the eagle dynamics web page. The new release has upgraded a lot of the textures and other things in the game which makes it look amazing. I have created several black shark 2 missions that are non video, in cockpit training exercises for the black shark. -Happy flying!
  11. Hmm... Are you having the same problem in the start up procedures? I am not sure what could be causing this issue to be honest. I will try and look into it some more. Which file is it that you are overwriting out of curiosity? Thanks for the feedback.
  12. My goal is to create an in cockpit training environment to help you understand the systems of the KA-50 Black Shark. I'm sorry, but these missions will only work for Black Shark 2 and appear to only work in World 1.2.0 or later at this point. These Missions have been integrated into the core game and will be found under the training menu by default instead of the old videos. *TIP* It may be necessary to hold down a button such as the ABRIS buttons for the trigger to take affect. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/173790/ *File contains ALL current training missions* Thanks PeterP for the menu integration. **Known Issues with the missions** - The advanced ABRIS training when it asks you to input the airdrome, none of the airdromes listed in the flight manual return. They all say "not found." I have fixed this issue but I will leave this error here for the time being to ensure that it does not break something else. The fix can be found here http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/646047/ Simply extract the folder into your DCS World folder and allow it to overwrite. Now you should be able to make those RAIM calculations. The correct code for Kobuleti however is UG5X, not KBLT as the training mission states. I will be updating the training mission soon with this information. Thank you everybody for your support with these missions. Your feedback is welcome and encouraged to make these even better. In a somewhat related note, you can also view my A-10C JTAC coordinate training mission http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/99424/ *FUN FACT* Some of these missions have been downloaded over 3 thousand times! Thank you all for your support and encouragement! WARNING: If you don't want to listen to a history lesson. Stop reading here. A lesson in History? Ok, maybe not so much. I absolutely love the DCS series and I am was blown away by its complexity and beauty all at the same time when I first sat in the cockpit of the A-10 and to this day. It was my first re-introduction to the genre from many years ago. I was immediately drawn in by the training missions walking you through the various steps of the cockpit and the true depth of the simulation. But I learned it in no time because I was able to see and follow the instructors instructions step by step and move the components myself. Then I found out about Blackshark2 and was very eager to have a helicopter to compliment this amazing A-10. Sadly, there were no training instructions, only videos which I have a hard time learning from. I watched a few a few times, picked up a few of the mandatory steps, but in the end, I got her started by flipping on all the switches. My buddies would say, "How do I start this thing?" and all I could say was. "I dunno, just flip all the switches". I began asking questions on the forums here and reading about other people asking the same thing. I began to see the same thing over and over. "How do I do this?" In all honesty, I put the game down and went back to A-10. Though at the time there was a lack of missions available for the sim so I took it upon myself from my group of friends to get into the mission editor and design some missions for us to fly. While trying to teach myself the mission editor, I was dissecting the trigger system through the missions provided by ED. I began to see how the mission editor worked and then BAM!!! A stroke of genius hit me, I opened an A-10 training mission to see how it was done and realized that these same triggers and settings were available to me to use. After much more research and videos, I began creating my JTAC coordinate entry training because the forums were awash of "How do I enter the coordinates the JTAC gives me?" Once I had released that mission, I thought I could apply what I had learned to the Blackshark and set out to do just that. I watched the official videos over and over again laying out the mission verbiage and style on paper then more research to figure out how to set the triggers to see the various components of the cockpit. After many long hours of research and asking questions here on the forum, we have the missions as they are today. While I personally feel there is always room for improvement, and I am all ears, I feel these missions are complete. Each of these missions took about 20 hours each with the cold startup taking approximately 40 hours due to a lack of knowledge to complete. The Advanced ABRIS training also took about 40 hours due to the amount of information and complexity it has. In the end, I am always open for suggestions and above all else, I hope this effort has been helpful in helping new pilots get flying sooner and enjoying the game faster.
  13. Hehe, I knew that was eventually going to catch somebodies attention. I have that one qued up already as something to change in a future version. I am currently working on a verison of both of these, but will probably be some time before I release them. Lots of triggers and lots of steps to program in the editor. Keep a look out though! Hopefully they will include these in a future patch. Who knows. I have created another thread to capture all suggestions and comments related to the training missions here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84612 so that i don't clutter the forums with multiple threads.
  14. Thanks! I have gotten really good at triggers and working with the editor so it did not take too long. But all in all, I would say probably about 20 hours or so from start to finish and working out the bugs.
  15. For those of you who find the training videos a pain to use and remember all the start up procedures, I have created this training mission for you. It follows the steps outlined in the video originally put out by Eagle Dynamics but in the cockpit step by step with highlighted gauges. Please feel free to provide any feed back suggestions, or improvements! Enjoy and I hope this helps get you and flying around faster! I am aware of the difference of 2 of the voice overs sounding different. Primary mic died in the making of this mission. **** NOTE**** Please leave all future comments, suggestions, feed back at this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84612 so that i dont clutter the forums with multiple threads.Thank you for understanding!
  16. I appologize it has taken me a lot longer than I had anticipated to get this out.. Life has turned upside down and gone sideways and every which way. I will do one more quality check through tomorrow and it upload to the user files. I will post a link here when its done. *Edit* I have uploaded the mission to the user files section and will post the link once it has been reviewed and posted. *Edit* Here is the link... http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/144189/
  17. Thanks for your help! I have it all figured out. The flat 2d suggestion is a great one.
  18. Hmm, alright. Is there a way to find the coordinates of the guage? Or is more of a trial and error kind of thing?
  19. I am Currently creating a training mission similiar to the training missions found in A-10C. I will upload to the user section when its done. Please keep an eye out! (will probably be later this week.)
  20. Can anybody tell me how to highlight a read only guage such as engine temp, or RPM? I have looked through the Device_init.lua for an indicator ID and I cant find one. I have also looked through the main panel.lua stuff and I cant seem to find what I need there either. Thanks!
  21. I noticed while I was running some missions out of the Kutaisi Air base that the lights for the runways are just terrible.. just balls of color... Attached is a pic of the kutaisi (balls of color) air base, and batumi with correct lights. I will check out other air bases to see if this issue exists there too.
  22. Looks like subtractive magic is at work in this world :P
  23. It has been brought to my attention that a few people have experienced a problem with pushing spacebar to advance the mission. If its not working, chances are, you have re-programed your space bar with a different command. In these cases, pressing the button you have set for your second stage gun trigger will work. In most cases its pulling your trigger on the HOTAS.
  24. win 7 64
  25. I created a training mission down loadable from the user files section http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/99424/ It will walk you through how to input coordinates from the JTAC 9 line command into your CDU computer. I hope this helps out! Please be sure to read the mission briefing. Happy flying.
