Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 5
gregzagk replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Yes this is how it works (or it should until we see the opposite :D) For example in airbases there are 5x groups (Interceptors, Bunkers, SAM, EWR, Ground units). If you destroy the EWR group completely (it is consited by 3 units) then it enters the repair queue. When EWR's group gets first in the queue it will get repaired after 15-30mins. Will check it later to see if everything is ok. Thanks again. Greg -

Yes it was a coincidence... :D Airbases should have enough KA-50's to operate but will check again. If you notice specific airbases please let me know. Greg -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 5
gregzagk replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
We were running for our lives :D Slots in Vody are the same since round 2 as this specific airbase has not a capable number of available parking slots to host more than 1 squadron in. Squadron slots were tweaked in other airbases to get more general slots free for both sides. Greg -

PLEASE POST IN THIS THREAD IN CASE THE SERVER CRASHES - OR REPORTED DOWN. Thanks in advance

There is now a limit on how many SA-6's you can build during a session. Greg
-
Can you please remove the file and test during the weekend to see if it occurs again? We will remove this possibility that way. Thanks in advance. Greg
-
Yes, name it bad luck but even if we were going for a scheduled shut down, the server crashed before we bring it down. So I suppose it stopped working cause of that :noexpression:
-
Can you please tell me if you remember what aircraft you were using and from what base/farp ? Maybe it's cause of mixing group ID's. Greg
-
Do you remember if this is happening when the mission runs more than ~3 hours etc? Or can this happen also in the start of a mission? Yes reviewing the chopper situation. Greg
-
Ah yes now I got it. Will check how to improve it. Greg
-
If I am not wrong I think you misunderstood the function. Choppers won't lose lives in the campaign from now on in order to be more active. This is cause their role is very important now and the available slots are not many due to limitations. They have to refuel/repair the airbases, capture targets, provide CSAR, transport JTACs, build SAM groups. For all other aircraft the limit of lives is 4 from now on and it resets every 6 hours. Greg

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 4
gregzagk replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Mission planning and preparations of real wars need a lot more details than the sorties we have in DCS World or other sims. There is no respawn there :D That is normal as there were a total number of 1503 DCS World pilots connected to the server in Round 2. (unique id's) They had to fly with something. It would be a complete different event if we used other numbers, which of course can be available in the future. Greg -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 4
gregzagk replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Yes the Rain and Overcast versions are still in but have been tweaked in order to be more "operational". They will be available from tonight. We are going to look more on the transport capabilities as this can be also heavy for the server along with the ability to spam systems around. Greg -

Sorry I missed it before. Unfortunately we woudn't like to have moving ground units again at this point as it definately causes lag. Greg -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 4
gregzagk replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Hey, the repairing time starts when the last unit of each group is destroyed. In FARPs there is only one group in total. So you have 15-35 minutes (it's random each time) to place troops after you destroy the last unit of the specific group. So the choppers can plan their way along with the attackers. In airbases we have more groups that enter the repair sequense (EWR, SAM, TANKS, BUNKERS, INTERCEPTORS). Again the time of repair starts when the last unit of each group is destroyed. It can take up to ~2.5 hours to get an airbase completely repaired. Greg -

Yes, the 2x bunkers are implemented in the repair system. So they start repairing each time they are destroyed like the other groups do (SAM, ground units, Interceptors). The aircraft slots are disabled during the repair. Greg -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 4
gregzagk replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. This was the thread of the previous round (4th round) so please post in the buddyspike thread to avoid confusion. (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=145416&page=82) @Sierra99 This was an old post, when the 1.5 was first out and we faced many bugs. The tests are going well now and we try to add some administration tools through the API. As Frostie said, moving groups etc cause lag in the server so we have to balance bettween nice-realistic ideas and limitations of the current built. As far for the repair system we try also to think of new features but we have to keep in mind also the gameplay on a 24/7 campaign. We should finish with the concept this week. Current changelog/testing: - Optimising many scripts in the backround (Xcom & Ciribob on fire :D ) based on the server performance & feedback to increase stability. - We implemented the fuel consuption system which calculates the fuel capacity in each airbase. The fuel is decreasing depending on the number of sorties from each airbase and can be increased if you transport a fuel cargo with Mi-8/UH-1H from another airbase/FARP. This is working through the CTLD script and it uses the simulation of cargo transport and not the actual sling load in order to avoid server crashes. You can see the fuel capacity of your side's airbases through the PAK info menu (F10 radio) - Removed some squadron slots in order to decrease the mission file size and to improve the available aircraft slots in some airbases that had problems. - Tweaked ground units positions in Airbases, FARP & Cities. Additional work has been done in the FARPs through a FARP template to avoid spawning units underneeth them etc. - AI JTAC can be transported through the CTLD script. It will start lasing and marking with smoke enemy targets automatically when in range (LOS) - Added fortification units in airbases & cities (bunkers, road outposts). The bunkers in the airbases simulate underground fuel warehouses that if you destroy them you can temporary disable the airbase (aircraft won't be able to takeoff due to low fuel) The positions of these bunkers will be available in pictures in the SOP file. - Added the time & weather rotation during the mission seasons - Added coordinates on the real time map website for FARP & cities ( http://opblueflag-buddyspike.rhcloud.com ) - Working, as previously mentioned, on some administration tools through the API which can improve our ability to maintain the server 24/7. The SOP file is updated and will be uploaded when we finalise some features. You can get information about: - Starting/Ending date - changelog - rules - how the capturing, csar, repair, fuel system, JTAC etc works - coordinates of FARP & Cities - Ground unit types - Threats (Air defence units etc) - Skins used Greg -
All points except 5 & 7 are ready or being worked right now :) More details in the upcoming sop file. Greg
-
Hey guys, thanks for registering. Sorry for not replying earlier. We are working on some changes to increase stability and avoid some Server crashes we faced. About the ground units type, positions etc, we are going to release the new updated SOP pdf file for the new round asap. Added also weather varieties in each mission restart and also morning, midday & night versions. Right now the Server runs the overcast version of the campaign :) Both sides should plan their tactics based now also to weather conditions (e.g. more fuel transport during overcast etc) Greg
