I am on the verge of purchasing an Obutto. I have the Saitek Combat Pedals but I really want the Obutto. I know I won't be able to use the pedal plate or whatever it is it comes with. Did you ever find a solution so you could use the Saitek pedals with the Obutto. This is the only thing preventing me from buying it. I really want to get this thing. Just have to find a solution to the pedals issue first. Any tips would be great. Thanks.

Great video. I've always had problems working with markpoints and this clarified things for me. All your videos have been very, very helpful. I constantly refer to them.

Excellent post. You make all good points. Some people such as myself don't necessarily like to seek out groups or be part of a squadron (or clan if it's FPS's) and just want to jump into a quick game and play with some other people. There are definitely irritating players that will join a game and be a pain and it's understandable locking servers. A nice balance of locked vs unlocked but well administered servers would be nice. Your point about using voice vs typing is so true. If someone asks a questions I always answer it even on approach for landing and it's bad taking your hand off the stick. Having voice chat built into the game itself would be great instead of having to use a third party program all the time.

Agreed. Just have to avoid the servers where TS is required I guess.

Cool man. I have actually been on your server many times I think. I don't believe I have ever joined TS on it. I prefer to use TS too for coordination and such. Your server is quite reasonable (not dissing other servers though). Exactly how I would run mine if they come out with a dedicated server. Next time I'll check out TS when I join yours.

I was typing out a long post till I read yours. You basically said what I was going to say in reply to the post above yours. I was in no way discouraging anybody. Some players, such as myself prefer not to join such strict servers. There are good ones out there, just hard to find on a regular basis. All I was saying is that I wish there were more casual servers or the ones that are locked and require TS aren't so...well, I don't want to keep saying hardcore but I can't think of another term at the moment.

Just want to chime in here. I too agree there are far too many passworded servers. I have all but given up on multiplayer. I have tried passworded servers before but I was forced to use TARS on team speak. It is a nifty little add on but far too hardcore. Additionally people in team speak I have encountered force me to use the military terminology for everything. I know this is a study sim and I like that but there is a point to where it ceases to be enjoyable due to such serious players. A lot of people like that and I understand and it's cool but I just wish the were some more laid back servers. I rent a server from a company called feral hosting and they provide command line only access to a unix based o/s. I host team speak from it as well as "other things". I wish there was a way to host a DCS server on it. I'd make it a little more laid back (i.e. radio communications). Oh well, I do find a great server that is unlocked with great and less hardcore people every once in a while. As for now I'm trying out the campaigns. The default built in one is pretty repetitive. I'll check out the other ones that were removed to see if they are any better. Again, love the game, just too many passworded servers where people act like its life or death.

Hahaha, that's hilarious. Definitely see how that would make sense based on what I described. I was thinking more along the lines of this http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=63908 This setup is perfect, just need a cheaper version. That desk and a similar chair. Something under $500 is my target. I will find something eventually...I hope.

That chair is awesome. I need to find a chair with large platforms on each side. That would work perfect. Don't want to center mount mine because it'll be irritating getting in and out of the chair. I also need wheels on the chair. Some sort of wrap around desk would work. I definitely don't build things unless it comes with a manual. Anyways, thanks. I won't derail the thread anymore.

I was having the same problem. Found a temporary fix, it is not ideal but useable. I used some weights I had to block the movement of the pedal and had to raise the pedals using an Amazon box. I'm short (5'6") so I have to have my chair high to reach the desk comfortably thus having to raise the pedals. Now I need a way to mount the stick and I have no freakin clue how to do that. I am usually MacGyver like with this stuff but the TM Warthog is proving impossible for me to find a solution to without building something.

I too had the same problem when I got these pedals. I kept trying to taxi and would keep popping my tires or when landing seriously screw something up. Once I discovered curves, it helped immensely. Wish I knew what curvature is closest to the real A-10.

Ooooh, nice. I've had that done to my ears like 3 times, it feels really weird. I have some custom in ear monitors (IEM) and it really is superb sound, you cannot hear any external noises with them in. Pricey but worth it. http://ultimateears.com/en-us/products/11-pro I never did ask what was wrong with the radio calls when I was speaking with him. What exactly is wrong with them? Give me an example, I'm curious now.

You probably are correct that is why the engine sounds how it sounds in the game. Personally, if I had a preference I would like to have it closer to what a pilot hears. Makes sense to me as it is a sim but there are probably more factors as to why it is the way it is. Meh, oh well. By the way, Woodbridge, eh? I'm right over in Springfield.

Hey guys, For what it's worth, I demoed this game to my uncle who used to fly A-10's. The video was of some take offs and landings as well as some ground attacks. He said everything was realistic from what he could tell, especially the sound of the gun. He said "The Gun was awesome- sounds just like that!" However, he did say that "We wear earplugs under the helmet so it is very quiet in the cockpit.", meaning the engine is too loud in cockpit. He also mentioned the radio calls weren't realistic, at least based on his many years of flying the A-10. There were some other minor nitpicks but that is off topic. Bottom line, it does seem like the engine in cockpit is too loud.

I figured the response would be "use pen and paper". I understand that pilots have a kneeboard or something but man that seems just going a bit too far, even for this sim. Even the sim makes compromises in places, I think message history should be an additional one. Also, I have zero room left on my computer desk for a pen and paper. The TM Warthog, MFD's, keyboard, 24" monitor, mouse, etc...takes up a lot of room. Just saying.

I was searching the forums for an answer to this. I was hoping there was a way to recall radio messages and scripted messages such as in the mission Smerch Hunt. Simply can't type in those coordinates fast enough before they disappear. Hope some option to look at previous messages is added at some point.

Slack on TM HOTAS Warthog?
Fuzzysham replied to LostOblivion's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have the same exact issue on mine. It was solid when I first got it then it became a little slack in the y axis. Just like the video posted. I emailed thrust master and they said that it is normal and all their sticks in their shop exhibit the same trait. It is a real pain in the ass when trying to refuel by over correcting. I had to add a minor deadzone to the stick. Oh well, it's still an amazing stick. This was Thrustmasters response:
