  1. That would be a dream come true!!!
  2. If I was in Tampa, I would buy you a 32 oz Cuban coffee! Thanks for your hard work.
  3. I had a Matchbox Viggen when I was a child and always loved that aircraft. With that and knowing the superior product that Leatherneck offers I would buy it first day.
  4. Never said they were a better fit, but thanks for paying attention.
  5. All of my posts have been speculation. OV1 has radar and unique (constant speed turbo-prop) propulsion. MV-22 definitely unique propulsion. Honestly, I don't think for a second that either of these is the aircraft in question but the thread had settled down to a couple of planes and people arguing about them. I'm just trying to keep it fun. My wishlist on the other hand is long and lies between 1965-1985.
  6. OV-1B with side looking radar.
  7. How about another carrier aircraft... a Soviet one...
  8. Pure speculation here but couldn't "new and unique propulsion" equal MV-22 Osprey? Not sure if that had been mentioned yet. Of course the part of a larger project statement combined with a new and unique propulsion system makes me think Millennium Falcon...
  9. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/35/C-12_Huron_in_flight.jpg Mystery solved.
  10. Yes, oh yes. Cruise speed somewhere under 100 knots. Does three radials count as new propulsion system?
  11. Turboprop with constant speed prop and reverse. :music_whistling:
  12. Actually all of this could describe a P-3 Orion as well... Imagine the excitement of searching for subs on the waterfall display while turning circles in the middle of the Pacific.
  13. USMC Aviation is closely connected to three main fixed wing aircraft. The F-4U Corsair, The Phantom and the AV-8. I would be pleased as punch with any of those aircraft, but the Phantom IMHO makes the most sense as it is a rival to the Mig-21. Rotary wing wise the H-53 would be great fun, as well as the CH-46.
  14. The only problem is with the GIUK gap is size. I would be surprised if we went up in area that much from the relatively small map we currently have. I do agree with your points on the Falklands, with my only counterpoint being that many proxy wars had no real strategic advantage for either side. Mostly I was just trying to make sure we didn't leave out somewhere cold and oceany in our discussion.
  15. The question to ask is what location would make for a good fictional mid 1970s to 1980s theater? Historically it would have been the Med, but given the "very cold" this seems unlikely. The Faulklands? Select Warsaw pact nations come to the aid of Argentina against the British. The US follows in support of it's ally. The Baltic Sea (someone else mentioned this too) post Soviet, Latvia, Estonia, or Lithuania start in-fighting and NATO sends in peace keeping forces including a carrier group. This also works for a possible Saab.
  16. 1. How did you learn about DCS? From A-10C 2. When did you first learn about the F-14? The Sim? From the forum or Newsletter. The fighter when I was a kid, had a book on all the worlds planes. 3. What made you fall in love with the F-14? The movie, Final Countdown 4. Any backstories of seeing the Top Gun movie for the first time? Large part of the reason I joined the Navy and Naval Aviation. Ended up working on the P-3C (when do we get it :) ?) 5. Did any of you really fly/RIO in an F-14? No but I launched one (Line Shack work) out of GTMO (back before it is what it is now) "You can be my wingman anytime."
  17. Cold and ocean? I like the idea of Norway, Sweeden, or Finland for a theater but when compared with the size of our current map size it seems a bit large of an area to be likely. I still think the Korean peninsula is a possibility. You could do a large section of it (not as large as F4.0) in a similar size as the Georgia map, and it is cold with a lot of ocean. Another possibility and a real world area of increased operations between east and west is the Arctic. With the melting ice sheet, there is more and more interest in the extreme north and not a lot of cities and other features to bog down play. The distances though are extreme except for the narrow straight between Alaska and Eastern Russia.
  18. I grew up with the low level training route between MacDill AFB and the Avon Park Bombing Range over my house. My summers were spent watching F-4s flying over every hour. I dream of this module.
  19. Don't we already have an AI F-4, it is in one of the quick missions and already looks fairly detailed. Also, lets not forget that one of the hints is that the next plane would have a HUD and would help in the development of the Tomcat. With that information, the 21 and the picture someone found the F-4 seems likely.
  20. I was looking at the wall map at work and a Korean theater would be similar in size to the Caucus map we currently use. Seems logical, and matches many of the clues given already, including the Rising Sun flag.
  21. Almost 100% sure that is a Corsair cockpit on the left, and I think others have mentioned that as well. Seems Aleutian islands map would make sense, cold and ocean. Plus there was fighting up that way during WW2. I forget when the Aleutian campaign ended but it started same time as Midway.
  22. 60 hours or so in Cessna's and Pipers. Just picked up the 21 and I love this flight model, great job leatherneck, the plane performs exactly as I expect it to. Have to stay in front of it. Landed it first try last night, after experimenting with slow speed handling for a bit.

    Dear Belsimtek

Huey is about all I fly anymore, just love this sim like it was my first.
  24. Nope, can't select it under Options-Systems-Monitors. Same file works fine on non beta install.
  25. Although I have had the Beta of DCS World loaded on my machine from the begining starting from scratch on set up prevented me from actually using it. I have started to make the switch now and am slogging through the set up but I have been unable to get my multiple monitor set up to work in the Beta module. I directly copied the .lua file (works great in regular DCS module) but it isn't even recognized in the beta module. Has anyone had any experience with this and been able to get it to work?
