  1. Yup, also definitely waiting for the dcs fighter with hopefully carrier ops and a bft for that. Will also certainly buy the next bft if we can get the bugs ironed out and get a bit more complete commands so that I wont have to find out what im supposed to do by trial and error.
  2. Ok, I got through BFT 04 approach and landing thanks to subs track files (took control). Seems afterward that I kept failing because I tried to fly the glide scope right from the moment it descended below the approach altitude. If you do this you get an off altitude (approach altitude) and get failed. So first you should wait till you get the fly x knots to the runway message and then you can start to descend to the glide scope (which you will be above when you get the message). As far as I know from past fsx experience you should start flying the glide scope from the moment it descends below the approach altitude and keep the papi at 2 white. I am not 100% sure about this so if somebody knows... Ps. is the jeep supposed to crash into to jets at the beginning of bft 5 and 6?

  4. Hey subs, just had a look at bft 4 approach and landing and it looks like the track is screwed. On taxi to runway you drive into the grass right of the taxiway, then you get failed and take off into a building. ps nice music :p

  6. Thanks for the tips. I personally do 90% of the startup during the apu powerup and engine spooling. After that I just spend minutes waiting for the ins to align. Atm im stuck at the visual approach, I cant see the papi well enough to get a perfect glidesope w/o ils. Also when i get on the glidescope im told im below approach altitude, at some steps its just not very clear if im supposed to follow atc or the flight plan or the instructor. Therefore I drift off course and am lost between the three. I need to see what the perfect run would look like so that I get an idea what is expected. ps: nice lists, you might also want to add extend speedbrakes to the landing (~40% on approach and full on touchdown)
  7. Im going to wait for the track files. I just keep doing something wrong and its too frustrating to have to restart every time.
  8. I also have a very simple joystick (logitech force 3d pro) but have remapped all the buttons on the side to modifiers You can then use those together with the top buttons the get all the functions on the hotas stick. Its a bit more work but feels pretty natural.
  9. Also if you have the hud as soi you can use dms left and right to select maverick profile, then use china hat up short to directly switch the right screen to maverick and hold china hat up to then slew it to the spi. and then eat a pickle
  10. I personally use 4x cbu 105 and 6x agm65d. When I know I have to destroy a bridge or building I add in a gbu38. There are all "smart" bombs and will fall where you want them too. I dont know if this is a realistic setup because it will probably cost a lot but at least you wont cause to much collateral damage. Does anybody in here know what would really be used for this kind of missions?
  11. still going crazy, now on to the visual approach but keep failing because I am asked to get an approach vector. So I do that and fly towards the runway on pattern altitude, then I get a warning that I am above the glide path so I descend towards the runway (of witch the vasi/papi is unreadable btw) and then I am failed because I am below the pattern altitude. How am I supposed to pass this when the commands are not clear. Really need those tracks..
  12. effte, Is the CCIP/CCRP also corrected for the windspeed/OAT in the CDU steerpoint page?
  13. Wasnt the windspeed also on the Steerpoint info page. I thought the windspeed was calculated realtime by the CDU. Why would you have to manually adjust it then?

One ends in my wingman crashing into me on finals and in the other one I dodge him and land Q- Also my wingman keeps on flying without tail oddly but that could be because the a10 is just that good ;) ps.   15. Aaargh, Im going crazy with the bugs in the second mission. I now have had two times that im ready on the runway and dont get the start-up check and therefore can not take off and fail. And now I'm on finals to the runway with one engine and my wingman crashes into me. WTF! Also very nice that I have to start the plane again every time I get glitched. Edit Just restarted again using the .trk file and look like 3rd time landing was the charm, landed right in the touchdown zone where the tire marks are but got a message that I didnt :s. My wingman was swerving in the front and back of me and I just managed to dodge him, is this to make the landing harder?
  16. Ok, i was wondering about the course setting because you dont always fly the exact flight path if you fly the dmh. Dmh gives your heading towards your next steerpoint from where you are atm, and thats often different than where you should be. I have seen an course advise in te Nav-attributes page but that sometimes isnt right.
  17. I have several times noticed a Flashing m on the hud to the left side of the airspeed. Does anybody know what this message means? Another question; does anybody know if it is possible to automatically set the nav course so that the hsi always corresponds to your flight plan? Also where can i find the course to set on my hsi, ie the bearing of the flight plan line?
  18. Ok, for anybody in here that wants some real quality flight controls you should look here http://aerotronicsllc.com/index.html . These guys make the real stuff capable up to 10g and if you provide the dough I think they will be more than happy to make an a10c controller.
  19. Try to remap the start buttons. I had the same problem here, don't know why though. I personally have starting remapped to left-control/ left-alt + home/end
  20. Yes, about binoculars. What are the two binocular looking things to the left and right side of the cockpit. They are at the bottom ledge of the canopy and I cant click them or do anything with them. That's what I thought too before I bought my new screen 27inch 2560x1440 but DCS tends to just not draw targets far away and you need to zoom in to get DCS to show you the target. I'm looking to enhance my visual range with some .lua config now.

  22. Great app, used it a lot to get weapons info while I dont have much to do. Noticed there is no oxy on + test and radio to TR(+ask for engine startup) in the checklists. Would be great to have those too so I wont black out again. Also a guide to know which weapons I need to use for my specific target would be sweet. I tend to drop the wrong kind of CBU's alot. Update; an editable checklist would be a good solution.
  23. Have exactly the same problem and spent 2 hrs trying to fix it, have unbound all unused keys to keep me from making wrong keypresses. Guess I went too far with that. Will try this as soon as I get home. As for the faster loading; get an SSD! Ocz agility 3 here and loading takes 10 seconds.
  24. Hey tried the snap views with TIR5 but it isnt working like its supposed to. I press ctrl+0 to lock it to the center view, and then when i press a number on the keypad it goes to the view but when I release the button it immeadiatly goes to my TIR standard view again. Why isnt it staying in the numpad position after release of the button?? Ps, I remapped the ctrl+0 to just numpad 0. Also remapped the numpad snap views (normally lwin+1-9) to just numpad 1 till 9. Standard setting is lwin+numpad to snap to the view but the standard settings dont work either. Are the views supposed to snap back after release. Ps, I noticed a button to set niew views in dcs, does anybody know how this works, I would like to get a llittle bit more of the panel in the view since im playing on 2560*1440 resolution. Where can I find the ctrl+num1-9 keys in my configuration screen, I only see snapview 1-9 and those are linked to lwin+num1-9 .
