I've read filling up all ram slots can put extra strain on the memory controller on a motherboard, so a previously stable overclock with 8gb or ram could become unstable with 16gb. I also read somewhere command rates for memory can change which effectively reduces the bandwidth of ram and slows down as more is added. Then again, I don't know a great deal about computers. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Damn my landings don't look anywhere as smooth as that. I think I flare too early. Depth I think yours was great. I need more practice.. :joystick:

Lshift+J is the only way at the moment at the start of every mission but having to think of so many other things I tend to forget.

Hello, I know this has been talked about before - there doesn't appear to be a permanent way to have cockpit jiggle on by default. I think it's such a great feature which adds more realism to A-10C. The only problem is I sometimes forget to switch it on. Has anyone managed to figure out how it keep it on? If not can I ask ED if you guys can implement jiggle in the options menu in a future patch. I didn't know whether I should post this here or in the wishlist forum. Many thanks.

oops sorry I meant the EAC to arm. I noticed it takes awhile for the EAC light on the panel to switch off.

Hi oskob, I hope you don't mind me asking a question myself. When starting from the ramp, should I wait until the EAC has completely aligned before I move the aircraft and start to taxi to runway? Thanks

If Kinect is implemented well for DCS-A10 it could be amazing. We could use hand gestures when using switches in the cockpit instead of using a mouse.

I would definitely buy a copy. I get distracted far too quickly when I'm on my PC and it would be easier for me to absorb info lying in bed or in a chair. Would it be worth starting another poll asking how much people are willing to pay for a printed manual, colour and/or black and white? Colour with glossy type paper would be lovely..!

I bought A-10 on a whim during the last steam sale for £14.99. I've always had a soft spot for the A-10 so thought what the heck. One Thrustmaster Warthog, combat rudder pedals, trackir, "modifications" to my computer desk and several hundred £'s later, and it's been worth every penny and I'm loving every second. I built a new rig primarily for BF3 but for every hour I play Battlefield 3 or anything else I'm putting in 10 for DCS. I was tempted today to buy a printer and a shed load of cartridges just to print the manual out. ED please release a manual and take my money! ps oh and please implement jiggle in the options menu too :P

DCS A-10C is back on sale on steam again if anyone is interested.

Hello, I'm still very new to all of this, but I'm on the same training missions at the moment. I noticed this too. I've kept the plane level and sometimes it won't engage. I reduce throttle and sometimes it re-engages. Was the ground chief waiting for you when you taxied? I guess that's where you're supposed to be. I accidently ran him over yesterday :D I noticed if you come in too fast, the guy will stop talking. You need to fly slower. I hope you don't mind me asking a couple of questions myself. In the landing training exercise, I'm told by ATC what direction to go to, then the instructor says dial in heading 130 for Batumi, but he doesn't explain why. I noticed the runway is 13, do I times any runway number by 10? Also how do I know which airport I'm at? I did a ramp start and couldn't tell where I was. I wanted to get ATC permission to start my plane, but had to start the plane to navigate to the CDU. How do I know which airport, frequency etc I need.

Thanks for the vibration thingy. I like it. I think it should be included in the simulation options in the menus, instead of pressing left shift J every time.

I must be doing something wrong. The joystick calibration keeps repeating itself. When it says something like "Push the stick forward SLOWLY, then press space" I push forward for about 5 seconds then hit space, let it centre again then follow the next instruction. But at the end it says the same thing "Plug in joystick to start" When I use TARGET Device Analyzer, and move the stick about, both the values always return to 32768. Does that mean it's properly calibrated? The only reason I ask is because when I mess about flying (not pressing buttons) just moving the throttles at the same time, the plane always starts turning right a lot. Is this a natural characteristic of the A-10, or is my stick not set up right? In over 30 years of gaming, I've never experienced anything like this before. I'm up to page 148 in the flight manual and every sentence is so hard to understand, and I've forgotten most of what I've read, but there's something so awesome when I'm up in the air. I'm determined to get it right. Please someone put me out of my misery, what am I doing wrong?

I have the same problem. I can't get the calibration to finish on the stick. It keeps repeating the same procedure again. Have you found a way to do it, or does anyone else know to fix it? The firmware is updated and I've tried different USB slots but just get the same thing. Many thanks

Yeah sorry about that. There was me trying to bag a bargain from steam and I'll end up spending £500. :) I was so pumped for Lock-On back in 2003 but things went really pear shaped for me. I'm making up for lost ground now. Right, no more off topic from me. I'll harass you guys elsewhere.

I appreciate your help. I'm trying to figure out how I can stick rudders under my desk. Between my pc case and my subwoofer I have about 1 foot of space separating them. I'm sure I'll get there somehow. Cheers.

Thanks. I only just realised I need a couple of LCD screens for the cougar. I might hold fire on them for the time being. I was mulling over what joystick to get over the weekend but went for the Warthog. It's a little more money but you only live once. Getting a bit bored with Battlefield 3 so I'm really excited for this. Hi guys, just a quick update. I went ahead and ordered the HOTAS Warthog (I hope I don't a get a dud) and TrackIR5 for a grand total of gulp.. £418. :cry: I'm thinking of going the whole hog :) and getting rudders and a MFD cougar panel pack. Which rudders would you recommend and is the cougar worth getting? Am I right in thinking I wouldn't need to touch the keyboard or mouse with the cougar?

Hello mate, not it isn't. But it might as well be. I used to love IL2 I was rubbish at it though. Just had a peak at the tutorial. Whoosh, no idea what he said. Random button bashing. Completely ignored what the guy said on the next tutorial: "Now we're going to see what XYZ button does" No we're not, we're going for a loop de loop and fly dangerously close to the ground! Must have pressed the wrong button because I lost power and was wondering which one was the 'on' switch Beautiful game but I was playing with a 360 controller. Have a busted sidewinder forcefeedback 2 in cupboard. Do I get the HOTAS Warthog now...hmm

Hello guys first post. I'm already stuck! I bought A10 from steam and have downloaded it via a torrent but I can't find the key for it. All I have from steam is a confirmation number. Where do I find the key? Many thanks nevermind I found it. oooh this going to be fun.. I can see myself stuck on the runway for awhile :)
