I did that mods, and I got to admit it works great, be able to fly around smoothly without hitting trim button all of the time and re-center the joystick. glad that I had st290 joystick sitting around. :-)

Try reinstall in i.e. C:\Games\LockOn try to avoid the program files folder Max.

Know what. I have managed to find a fix. but it inculdes to format the hard drive. create new partition (delete old one). and it works for more than 5 hours of flight time in LOFC. install windows 7 once windows 7 is DONE installing. Turn off UAC immedately and DEP too. install any necessary, TiR4, Vid card, chipset and etc drivers. install lockon from CD Patch it to 1.12b (vanilla install) Hope it will work that way. (I have done this serveral times. and tried many fixes and I even find the fixes it works for a week until it began CTD into desktop right after start up) so I decided to format and follow the steps I mentioned above, it was my LAST activation which I already exhausted. even I used SF registry but it is always o/s fixed and it dont work. since It says XP. not win7. make sure you make back up of registry from proper O/S. I would say give this a shot if you have knowledge of how to install o/s and partition the hard drive formatting etc. Hope that is helpful

I have exhausted the Activation # for Lockon FC.... it was all about win7 crashing issue and winxp and I have reinstalled win7 and xp serveral times to make it work right. and the registry i created with the starforce, it didnt work because it is fixed O/S. Now I have exhausted 2 serial numbesr, and I am hoping that you can help me out to get it fixed or am I stuck by buying another serial? let me know regards David "Maximus" P.S. that's nice setup, I have very similiar to your setup.. something to think about rotating the monitor for Abris... nice idea. it will give me a bit more room on my desk since i have 40" HDTV on top of it lol...

Hi Spades. did you install in root directory i.e. C:\LOFC if you install in program files. the program files folders are usally locked out with security access. (UAC thing). Hope that help

that's very true, i have samsung 20" monitor. but it gonna to be too big for those little MFD... let's see when i get those MFD into my hand. and I am waiting for www.simw.com to ship that item out!

I just ordered the MFD Cougar, now figuring which best LCD monitor to fit in, I kind wish they also sell a 5X5 View size LCD monitor with USB. it gonna to be real nice!!

find a better processor. 1.3 ghz is not enough in my own opinion.

I have figured it out. Blackshark will not reconize the negative resoultion setting. so I had to change the winxp display in order and it works Samsung 40" 1st monitor on right, then 24" widescreen on 2nd then 20" LCD monitor on 3rd. it was set that way, 24 widescreen then 40" hdtv then 20" LCD. Cheer!

I have Discovered the problem. I have to grant my user control on lockon folder to FULL control under your user account of windows7. I played few hours and there is no more crash!. Hope that will help you all who having problem. Step by Step to set the Full control of Win7 User account navigate to your Lockon Folder, open Property of Lockon Folder A small window will pop up called "(your lockon folder)" Property" Click Security tab Highlight USER line Click Edit Another window will pop up, called Permission for (your lockon folder) make sure Full control is CHECKED. Hit Apply button and go fly and hope it fixes the random crash of win 7 Lockon FC.

Im looking forward on how you go with X-keys. since it's alot cheaper than paying 9 BU0836's about 75.00 USD each.

Nice work, but requiring 9 BU0836X cards is pretty too much, Why not use X-keys Matrix board, or Halstorm card, or Opencockpit card?

I've got the book, hey it's only 14.99. show them some support :-)
