  1. Just watched this tutorial for entering / creating waypoints and flightplans on the CDU. Just gotta say I found it very informative and easy to follow. Extremely grateful for the time it took to do this and I cant wait for the rest of them. Many thanks
  2. Ok I have finally managed to get a view I'm happy with but my previous set of custom snapview do not work whenever I press numpad 1 - 6 nothing happens at all, have they been disabled somehow. How can I import my custom save of the snapviews file and get it to work thanks
  3. Hi Peter I love the mod and how the head is positioned for viewing the cockpit especially the control panels on the left and right.. however I cant see the top of the HUD and when I go into a dive for strafing the gun pipper is disappearing. Is there a way to keep the head position and keep the HUD view from default. Is so could you please explain to me how I change the settings. Many thanks
  4. Can you recommend a good FOV setting Iam finding the default just a little too close to the front of the cockpit. I did try that natural neck mod but found that the view was too far back and didn't show enough of the HUD. How would I go about moving the default FOV a little further back and make it permanent
  5. Thanks for that worked a treat, will make things much easier cheers
  6. Yeah that sounds like that would be real helpful would I need to setup a complete new profile for the WARTHOG. If not could you explain how you do it within the DCS setup options. thanks
  7. As the title states I have TIR 5, WARTHOG hotas and Saitek combat rudder pedals. Iam having trouble getting the TIR to a happy setting especially with regards to zooming in and out in the cockpit. I've watched a lot of tutorial videos on youtube and I love the way that the pilots of these tutorial videos seem to be able to effortlessly zoom in and out to exactly where they want. How do I set up my system to replicate this ? At the moment because I cant find a happy setting for the TIR I have the zoom disabled and have the MIC switch on the WARTHOG set up to zoom in and out and pause and center the TIR. Seems a bit of a waste for the MIC switch so need a better more natural solution. So Iam appealing to all you "pro pilots" :) out there to help me find a more efficient, natural and capable setup. Also would appreciate any advice with regards to axis settings in DCS for the WARTHOG and rudder pedals to make the A10 easier to fly. So please if you have the time make a post or link a profile for the TIR or/and WARTHOG. Many thanks from a A10 pilot wannabe :)
  8. Trust me am very happy to be a member of the fan club and even if this bad boy breaks within a few years there is no way am going back to the current line up of CH products, they are going to have to design a new product that exceeds the WARTHOG if they want to win back my custom.
  9. Just thought you know that I did eventually decide to purchase the WARTHOG and Saitek Combat Pedals. I cant believe just how good the WARTHOG is, its far better than I'd hoped it would be, a massive improvement even over the nxt couger. It makes the game so much more enjoyable when you can actually make the accurate adjustments when flying and strafing runs are now a breeze. The throttle to me though is an absolutely amazing piece of kit especially the movement of the throttle levers.. doesn't matter how slow you move them there is no stiction whatsoever which allows for extremely accurate changes in thrust and with all the buttons and switches.. its just to die for. All in all I cant recommend this HOTAS enough it just oozes quality from the heavy metal finish to the accuracy of the movement of the axis. If you are in the market for a new HOTAS and can afford this one.. seriously buy it.. you wont regret it. Many thanks for all the help and advice given
  10. Just ordered the B & W A10c manual, it looks really good quality. Its too bad the colour one is so expensive I would have paid up to £40 for the hard back colour but certainly not £135 how can it be nearly 10x more expensive. Anyways am sure the B & W will be more than adequate.
  11. I was actually wanting to modify a few other snapviews as well as the zoomed in hud but thanks for the help with the zoomed hud will give it a try
  12. I cant get my custom snap view to save, Ive found a few threads on this and followed their instructions to the letter but cant get the views Ive made to save. This is the instructions Ive followed. 1. Change line 42 in the View.lua to UseDefaultSnapViews=false. 2. Star game as administrator. 3. Toggle snap views: RCTL KP0 4. Press the snap view you want to change: KP5 5. Untoggle snap views: RCTL KP0 6. Move/pan/zoom your view to where you want it. I have been using the RCTRL & RSHIFT keys with the keypad to adjust me view. Is this correct or should I be doing it different. 7. Save cockpit angles: RALT KP0 8. Press the snap view you want to set: KP5 Anyways the above just doesn't work for me, any ideas where Iam going wrong.. getting very frustrated with this. Or is their a better much easier way of setting up your custom views
  13. Thanks for the replies folks, to be honest I do drop in and out of flight sims but I always comeback and so don't mind spending the cash on the toys, I do have track ir 5 the only thing I don't have is rudder pedals. Will the rudder pedals really make the difference ? and If so which ones are best paired with the Warthog keep em coming folks can never get enough info regarding this topic also exactly how many controls are on the Warthog throttle I kinda liked having the four hats on the CH pro and I found all the buttons on the CH pro throttle real easy to reach and use, seeing as the Warthog throttle arcs up and down as you push it forward and back does it make reaching and pressing the buttons more awkward as your hand changes position. thanks
  14. Iam returning to flight sims and will be mainly playing the following, DCS A10 DCS Black Shark 2 DCS Flaming Cliffs 3 My first HOTAS was a cougar but I never really liked the feel or the accuracy of it during flying even after I did the nxt upgrade I still wasn't happy with its performance, so I sold it. My second HOTAS and current is the CH Fighterstick and Pro throttle but I'm really beginning to hate the mechanical axis system. The biggest problem I have is when I'm trying to do small correctional diagonal movements the Fighterstick is always being pulled into either of the axis slots, its nigh on impossible to rotate the joystick in a smooth circle near the center without it clunking back to the middle of an axis. So I've decided to buy a new system but before I dump a load of cash I need as much advise as you all can give me on the various HOTAS systems out there. Truth be told I do like the look of the new Warthog and that is my current choice but as I didn't enjoy flying with the nxt cougar I'm very wary about buying it. So I would very much appreciate if you have the time to post here your experiences with all the HOTAS's you have used especially if you have upgraded from a nxt cougar or a CH Hotas system to a Warthog, I'd love to hear about the differences. Please note that I'm also looking at the Saitek X65F Hotas and would love to hear how that one compares also. The other thing is that I don't currently have rudder pedals and not sure as to when those would be added to my setup if at all. Many thanks
  15. After a break of a few years Ive started playing sims again.. black shark 2 at the moment but Im finding it hard to fly accurately due to the way the axis movements are done in the Fighterstick .. The biggest problem I have is when I'm trying to do small correctional diagonal movements the Fighterstick is always being pulled into either of the axis slots, its nigh on impossible to rotate the joystick in a smooth circle near the center. To be honest as much as I like CH products I never really like the way they designed and built their axis mechanical movement. How can I overcome this would I need to make a profile with a deadzone. Never really messed with deadzones or axis graph settings Any ideas. thanks.
  16. Any of you CH pilots have a good profiles for a CH fighterstick and pro throttle you'd like to share. Many thanks
  17. Just installed Blackshark 2 and flying around getting the feel of it. I use a CH fighterstick and pro throttle The problem Im having is that when I try to aim my guns or reticle on a target my screen tends to bounce up and down slightly. I don't know if this is due to the game or the fighterstick. I'm trying to be as gentle as possible when moving the fighterstick but still get this bounce, is the fighterstick just overly sensitive or not set up properly. Any ideas how I can get a more accurate smooth flying aiming experience Cheers
  18. Thanks m8 that link was helpful, I'll set up a few easy missions and see what I can learn. cheers
  19. Am a bit lost with this and dont really understand how to best use the systems, especially jamming. I kinda get the countermeasure section where you can set up your own programs for dispensing the chaff and/or flares and us the start and stop HOTAS buttons, but could use some help with how to use it effectively. But I really need some help with the jamming and how to set it up and how it works. So I would really appreciate it if somebody could explain how to effectively use flare and chaff programs against threats and explain how the jamming systems works. Whats a good setup for jamming and how to best employ it against threats. Are there certain functions for jamming I should definitley have on my HOTAS setup. thanks
  20. Hi all fairly newish to this and enjoying the learning curve.. so far. Quick question once you have landed how do you know where to taxi to when you want to park the aircraft. Or doesnt it really matter. Thanks
  21. Hi all Just recieved my TrackIr 5 and having some problems setting it up, cant seem to find a setting I'm happy with. Could anyone please post their profile setups so I could try them out. Many thanks
  22. I have a keyboard that has instead of a Right Alt key, a key called Alt Gr, when hold this down and press the numpad keys, specifically 2, 4, 6 & 8, I can move a snap view around the cockpit. I wanted to map this to my CH Fighterstick POV hat (dont have trackir.. yet) but when assigning the commands in CH control manager it doesnt work in game. So I thought this Alt Gr key is to blame and I could reassign the keys in the game options but cant seem to find them. Any help out there with either the CH programming or reassigning the snap view keys in the game options. On another note how do you get the binocular view to work Left Windows + b does nothing for me. Thanks
  23. Hmm cant seem to get this to work.. tried holding L WIN and pressing the relevant Keypad number, then pressing R ALT but new snap views not saving. any ideas thanks
  24. There are 3 views in the cockpit that i like using but I need to hold the keys down in order for the views to stay on screen. The views in question are 1. The zoom in on the hud ( Keypad 0 + Keypad 5 ) 2. The zoom in on the left and right MFCD's ( Keypad 0 + Keyapd 4 or 5) I find it a pain that I have to keep Keypad 0 held down for these views to remain active any way round this. Or am I doing something wrong. All help appreciated thanks
