Just had another crash, but in single player now. I wanted to fly this A-10C mission: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1813679&postcount=6 . Once in the game, I was only able two switch on battery and inverter and it crashed about 10 seconds into the mission. After the crash the game returned to the main DCS menu. I just started the mission again and no crash so far... I'll report if it was fine. EDIT: Mission didnt crash the second time, but no radio coms. Second mission I get this kind of problem... this is all messed up, Ill wait for 1.2.7 :(. me.log and dcs.log are in the attachment. Logs.zip

It happens when flying something else than Huey too. I didnt try uninstalling the Huey-Module only, but it definitely still crashes after a complete redownload / reinstallation of all modules: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1873538&postcount=28 For me it definitely seems coms related, but in kind of a random way. I was not able to nail it down so far, but as soon as I use coms (without requesting stuff twice or similar) its a matter of time until the game closes. It also crashes without using coms at all, but this might be becuase of the automatic reply of the ATC when starting up and taxi. Unfortunatley the error message often pops up "behind" the DCS screen and I cannot see the error. Since MP s really messed up, I played some SP recently and had no problems with runtime errors at all.

Very nice move, appreciate it a lot, thanks . -
Waiting for first discount on DCS: Mi-8MTV2
Gate-5 replied to captainteemo's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Because the discount was not after a few months but after 2 weeks. I assume everyone understands that there is a drop in sold copies after a time and that a discount can increase it again. Probably it was just bad luck with timing and the Mi-8 being released shortly before autum sale. I would welcome a discount for early buyers (like with arma, or bf) and sales some time after final release, but apparently the sim marked is working differently. Other than that, i'll go and have fun with my 2 weeks old Mi-8 now (which i think is totally worth the full price anyways ) ;). -
[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod
Gate-5 replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Very nice, thanks a lot. So now I know what system im switching on instead of just remembering the position of the switch  -
Oh, so I was playing the wrong (probably older) missions then :). Didnt see any restrictions on weapons so far. Btw, I found some numbers too, made a screenshot of the table I was talking about. http://www.fas.org/man/gao/nsiad97134/app_04.htm for the full report.

It would be great to have some feature regarding cost. I find it rather boring to drop guided bombs from 20'000 feet watching my tiny screen and would be very happy if the Mk82's would be put into mission planing more often. There was a summary of the ordonance dropped during gulf war somewhere on the net, including prices.

Or just wait until its beta and buy it on sale  -

Gate-5 replied to captainteemo's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
This is kind of irritating. If the message they want to pass to me as a customer is "Don't buy any of our products at full price ever again, they will be on sale before official release anyways." im completely happy with that. Don't get me wrong, I generaly don't care about 30$, I just think its rather strange marketing, since there seems to be almost no reason to pay the full price. -
Server crash and Runtime error, Plz read before posting.
Gate-5 replied to Cougar's topic in Game Crash
Nice to see that were closing in on the problem . I just had another crash in the SU-25A on the ESL server that seems related to communication. Because of this post I didnt use the communication menu at all for take off. After taking out some targerts I was returing to Kobuleti, the following happened: 1. Opened communications menu. 2. F5 for ATC. 3. F12 to close the panel again (didnt send anything!). 4. F10 for the map, since I wasnt sure it is Kobuleti im approaching. 5. Opened communications menu again. 6. F5 for ATC 7. F1 for Inbound, sent the request and also got the answer from ATC with directions. 8. Couple of seconds later, windows error message sound, image freezes and I have a normal mouse arrow. Unfortunately I somehow closed the error message that popped up in the background while minimizing DCS, so I dont know if it was a runtime error. -
No I think it doesnt. The ESL server still had people on it and the mission time was 3h when I rejoined. I'll give it a try, thanks for the hint. It might sometimes have something to do with the communication issue that Cougar reported, or something similar. Yesterday I crashed while starting up and getting the startup clearance from the ATC. But as far as I remember everything was fine with that and I didnt select the same request multiple times. Besides the runtime error I recently got some freezes that kind of completely blocked my computer. Everything just stopped (sound stays on but screen is frozen) working and when hitting ctrl-alt-del mutliple times the hdd began copying like crazy. So far I always rebooted after a couple of minutes. I once got to the desktop while having something similar and the ressource monitor showed that my RAM was completely filled up and hard faults graph was on 100%.

About the things to try that SiThSpAwN mentioned in another thread: 1. Move the DCS World folder in your Users/Saved Games directory. Don't worry, the folder will be recreated when you next start the game. Note that this will reset your game option settings. - I deleted DCS and all modules including user/saved games folder and reinstalled everything. 2. Turn off UAC. - Duno what UAC is :helpsmilie:. 3. Run Microsoft Viual C++ 2010 runtime install:http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632 - Tells me my version is newer or equal. 4. Run the latest DX9c Runtime Installer: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 - Tells me my version is newer or equal. 5. Make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date. - Is up to date. 6. If your are running PlayClaw 4, shut down that program. - Dont have that program.

[OPEN] Runtime Error in multiplayer My DCS crashes almost every time I'm in multiplayer. The only thing that differs is the time until the crash, usually between 1 to 10 minutes. I was recently flying the Huey and Mi-8, had it with both of them. As far as I remember this happens only since I installed 1.2.6. System Specs GeForce GTX570, Driver Version 320.49 i5-2500K @ 3.3GHz 8GB RAM Windows 7, 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601 64bit CPU and GPU temperatures are fine and no where near max during all the time. (The only thing I observed is, that sometimes DCS uses about 7GB of RAM, or rather pagefile space and crashes, but thats not the problem I want to report here.) Drivers and software version Since I thought it might be my installation, I removed DCS completely (including user files on C: ) and reinstalled everything from the newest files in the download section (1.2.6). Furthermore I updated all the drivers for chipset, graphics card and so on. The C++ runtime library seems to be up to date, the installer from the Microsoft page tells me there is a newer version installed allready. The crash 1. Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library reports a runtime error. Program: E:\Games\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe. 2. Windows tells me the programm was closed: Problemsignatur: Problemereignisname: APPCRASH Anwendungsname: DCS.exe Anwendungsversion: 1.2.6.17746 Anwendungszeitstempel: 5225b96f Fehlermodulname: uh1_protect.dll Fehlermodulversion: 5.70.46.4 Fehlermodulzeitstempel: 5225bcb4 Ausnahmecode: 40000015 Ausnahmeoffset: 000000000002e2ee Betriebsystemversion: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Gebietsschema-ID: 2055 Zusatzinformation 1: ac3c Zusatzinformation 2: ac3c736c072fb320659f14fb2b4a17f5 Zusatzinformation 3: 1200 Zusatzinformation 4: 120074d30541cca8a616f784f01f1cdf Problemsignatur: Problemereignisname: APPCRASH Anwendungsname: DCS.exe Anwendungsversion: 1.2.6.17746 Anwendungszeitstempel: 5225b96f Fehlermodulname: NGModel.dll Fehlermodulversion: 1.2.6.17746 Fehlermodulzeitstempel: 520e4b05 Ausnahmecode: c0000005 Ausnahmeoffset: 000000000002074f Betriebsystemversion: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Gebietsschema-ID: 2055 Zusatzinformation 1: f157 Zusatzinformation 2: f1574ccb690c597fcef4da117f0097f7 Zusatzinformation 3: 07b2 Zusatzinformation 4: 07b247a677a1c008f4603d9f4cdb2194 Is there anything else I can test or submit that would help to solve that issue?

Does anyone know how to aim the GUV AP-30? I currently spend 80% of my ammo on finding the aim point :surrender:. Is there a table somewhere for the sight depression for different distances?

Multiplayer crash when hitting taxiing planes with maverick
Gate-5 replied to Gate-5's topic in Game Crash
Just noticed that this also happens when shooting at moving tanks... my game just crashed in TheDam, while I was shooting at the moving column assigned by JTAC Colt34. I think I'll stop to use the AGM-65H for some time :joystick:. -
I'd say the more you learn about the sim, the more you get to do while aliging. Here some suggestions: - Define custom profiles in DSMS. There is a lot of information about profiles for CCIP dumb bomb release. You could also prepare the GBU profile for auto lase and change the HOF in the CBU settings. I tend to often change my payload and then define my one profiles. - Prepare some waypoints for later use with the JTAC. - If there are multiple JTACs around, save frequency presets on the radio. - Prepare ILS and TACAN frequencys for AA refuel or landing. - Fully read the briefing (can be quite a lot of text in some MP missions) :D - Ask about the mission state when joining a MP session. - If you really get bored (or theres no visibility at all) you could even set up an approach flight plan for ILS landing.

Multiplayer crash when hitting taxiing planes with maverick
Gate-5 replied to Gate-5's topic in Game Crash
Exactly  Yes it was the H ones. I dont remember wheter I used ground stabilised mode or not, might be. I definitely used both modes the second time it crashed, but I dont know which one was the one that caused it. Ill try to reproduce it too, maybe theres something wrong with my installation. -
Multiplayer crash when hitting taxiing planes with maverick
Gate-5 replied to Gate-5's topic in Game Crash
Thanks for trying. As you will know there are multiple planes in the mission and it didnt crash right when I hit the first one, but on the second or thirt. The first time it crashed we were on the server together (BunnyEscort), im playing as "Spike" in multiplayer. When looking at the crash.logs it looks like it would be the same problem and have something to do with using a missile. Maybe I should just switch to guns next time . Edit: Indeed a CBU-105 would be a more efficient way to do so :lol::lol: -
I recently got two multiplayer crashes while attacking enemy (AI) planes taxiing on the ground with mavericks from the A-10. Both times other people on the server were fine, only my DCS crashed to desktop. It occured at the exact moment at which one of my mavericks (AGM-65H) would have hit the enemy planes (MIG 29 of some sort). In both cases the planes were taxiing on the ground when I hit them. The missions are both made by Dragon, BunnyEscort and TheBay (I think) and I was playing on one of the STP servers. About to lay down SERIOUS money
Gate-5 replied to Havoc04's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
For me the stiffness is just perfect for the A-10 or any other aircraft that can be trimmed properly. I removed the spring once for helo but then it was way to loose for my taste. Since I dont want to modify my spring I just go with the original state again. The only thing that bothers me is that the static friction is a little bit high which can make micro-adjustments a bit tricky. For me it is mostly a problem when the stick is centered, so the force to move it away from center is not perfectly linear at the begining. This is mostly problematic with helos or air-refueling and my solution to it is not to trimm to the center but holding the stick slightly behind center point. So it instead of a "push and pull" movement its more like "pull more or less", which also solves the problem with the friction to a certain degree. But dont get me wrong, I think there are tons of sticks where this is way more noticable as it is on the warthog. Nevertheless I think the stick is totaly worth its money and I couldnt find anything better so far. As far as I know there are ways around the friction-problem by using a different grease. -
Here! Crashed 3 times so far while tranistioning from forward flight to hover (vortex ring).
-
Theres a huge thread about that topic already: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1617633#post1617633 I never got decent accuracy with dumb bombs and CCRP. It might help flying lower but since the bombs are released from leveled flight the pattern is just to big. When using CCIP one can get way better results from much higher altitudes.

Wind correction is nod modeled (yet), so no need to fill it in :noexpression: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1617633&postcount=91
