1.2.8 Open Beta Preliminary Change Log
Gate-5 replied to upupandaway's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Probably not mentioned (yet), because there is only a 95% probability for it to be in: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2028514&postcount=60 Overall 1.2.8 seems to be a great update again, Im very much looking forward to that F15 AFM, 3d cockpits and CA updates.:thumbup::thumbup: -
Why even bother? As long as theres no change log there is no sence in updating an open beta which only serves the purpose of getting theyr stuff tested by the users.

Nice gesture, thanks a lot ED . Downside of being a good customer is that theres notwhing left to buy anymore and I still have the coupon from the huey beta left :D. Hope this will change soon :joystick:.

Unmarried and no kids, graduated electrical engineering and working as development engineer. If they keep the stream of nice modules up for the next couple of years I'll probably fall into the said group too :megalol:.

By the way, the press infomation on the website about the project being stopped is gone and theres only one saying that the realease will be on 30th of march. All good again? http://dcs-mig21.com/press.htm

Thats why all of my sentences start with "I think" and "I can well imagine" ;).

I dont mean only current 3rd party development teams, but that you have to become something similar to a 3rd party developer to get all the information you need. Theres no use for screenshots of unfinished maps that never get released either.
-
Not saying that I like the situation, but I think is important to point out is the following: I think some of the workload was just underestimated. And this, plus the fact that some of the stuff has to come from ED ("it's done when its done"), gives a nice coctail of delays and in the whole project.

How to Take Off and Blow Up Stuff Guide Problems
Gate-5 replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
If your engine throttle ([PGUP] twice, Manual Pg. 84) is in "AUTO" then it is probably not turned on. The switch is on the rear auxiliary panel and described in the manual on page 170 (number 6.). You have to select either inner ( key) or outer ([Y] key) weapon hardpoints first I think. You probably damaged it then ;). -
Promised yes, but no official date (there are none of these anyways ;)). First 1:20 of the following video: In the Kickstarter updates: Speaking about signed NDA's I can very well imagine that the SDK will only be available to 3rd party development teams (like the ones working on planes), but not to the regular user that just wants to play around in the editor. EDIT: aah, sniped :blow::D

They at least have to have something ready for the backers to select the matrix rewards (alpha access is in there too). Seems to be more complicated than initialy planed...

Its nice to see the continous stream of fixes  Does anyone know what changed?

So much fun, but sometimes hard to spot the target without getting to low. They are nice against convoys too, just take S-13s only and saturate the area :gun_rifle:. Usually quite easy to destroy most of the vehicles when doing a nice steep dive. For me rockets are not the most effective, but the most fun choice of weapon with the Su25. To bad there's not more use for the S-8, they dont even work well against soft targets. If theres need for a gun I either take the pods or change to the propper tool for the job (A-10). Guided rockets might be more efficient but I just dont like to throw fat, slow cigars at the enemy and pick them one by one till bingo fuel.

If you're running out of runway apply full afterburner and go arround. If its to late for taking off again i suggest the use of the black and yellow striped handle :smilewink:.
-
Maybe your landing speed is to high?! I recently landed on the small civil airfield (~3000 feet long i think) in the city of kutaisi and had no problems stopping the plane. As was mentioned before, apply full flaps, airbrake and touch down at about 125 knots (150 knots during approach).

same here, didnt have any error since the update .

Was working fine here too. Second flight today on the STP server without crash . Sadly still not many players online, hopefully this will improve again. If I wont report in the coming days, everythings fine ;). One thing that was very strange today, was that there were no buildings on the map (except airport buildings, powerlines and bridges). I've never seen this before and it made the weapons training a lot easier, since enemys in the city were just standing on flat ground. Is this some kind of new feature or setting or where does that come from?
-
45min MP yesterday on one of the STP servers and no crash so far too. I'll test on some of the more crowded servers, since I mostly was alone on the server. Coms still seem to be strange to me, as I didnt get any reply from ATC until my hover check ("taxi to parking area" after setting it down again). Maybe because Mi-8 still being beta?!
-
It somehow worked. AWACS still reports without having the radio powered on, but communication with them seems to work now. ATC still behaves strange, but who needs that anyways. Tnx for the quick reply .

Hi RagnarDa Have you tried the mission since the 1.2.6 update? I seem not to get any communication working. When entering the mission there are some AWACS calls, but since nothings powered on, I'd say they shouldnt be there. After APU power and radio setup neither ATC, flight or anyone is responding. I had the same problem with another mission yesterday (AWACS calls right at beginning too), so it doesn't seem to be related directly with your, but with "older" missions somehow.
