  1. Meh, I hope its not F-16. One, its been done to death. Two, F-18 is better. Three, F-16 HAS ONLY ONE ENGINE. Extremely fatal flaw in my opinion. You can be shot down by just one Igla.
  2. What is nice about it, is that its in the Arma world. I would love to see that kind of terrain in DCS.
  3. Personally, I'm hoping for some time before the next century, right before the release of Fighter Ops.
  4. Take on Helicopters: Hinds released. http://takeonthegame.com/take-on-helicopters-hinds-launches/#more-3044 Not sure if its any good yet. For one thing, they still have the old reflector sight on the super hind. Should be a newer, western style hud. Short launch trailer:
  5. Lol, yeah. The announcement will probably be like "Oh hey guys, just want to announce the next DCS jet will be the Mig-23. See ya." /me watches forum explode.:music_whistling:

    ArmA III

Lol, me too! And they're starting to really pile up.

This! I wouldn't even play the sim if it wasn't for ACE 2. Man, can you imagine that terrain in DCS?
  8. True. And I would love to have a Warthog, but from what I have heard about both the Cougar and the Warthog now, over the ages, I am very wary of buying one. Especially at the price they want. It seems extreme. $150 is probably the max I would spend on a Hotas.
  9. Yep, I don't particularly like the base of CH joysticks, but THEY DONT BREAK. At least, I've never heard of one. TM I hear about a LOT, and there are far less of them around then CH. Hence, I am wary of buying anything from TM, especially at their ridiculous prices. I pulled out my 25 year old CH Flightstick the other day. I think I paid about $20 for it, back in the day. Dusted off all the dirt and mud dobber nests on it, and guess what? It worked! Buttons and all.
  10. Flying wise, BS. Instrument wise, A-10C. BS with the instruments of the A-10C would be a drokk'in nightmare!
  11. Lol, sure, but TM always seems to have problems where other joysticks don't. My $9, 20 year old Raptor Firestick still works great. Never had a problem with it. For $500, you would think you would get the same out of the Warthog. In fact, as far as I can remember, I've never had any problems at all with my two CH joysticks either. TM seems to be the problem here. I think I will be waiting till they come down to a reasonable price.
  12. Anybody else starting to get the feeling these Warthog joysticks are overpriced pieces of shiite?
  13. This really makes me mad. The bastards want a crapload for their joystick, and then you hear about problem after problem with it. I hope someone else makes a similiar joystic to compete with them. At this point, I'm thinking about just getting a rockfire ups gameport connector for my old $9 raptor firestick. At least it works.
  14. The outside world.
  15. +1
  16. No gun, no fly. Like going into battle without a knife.
  17. Oh, ok. I was wondering what that flash of crosshair was on the hud. I thought maybe it was something I didn't know about. Yeah, I just need a better screen to see jets. Mines too tiny.
  18. So, when he lit up on your hud, was that a target handoff from the AI? Because he was FAR beyond visual range on my screen.
  19. Yeah, were missing the world outside the cockpit.
  20. Lol, yeah, we aren't Xbox.
  21. Well, I think I want a Crysis Wars map, nestled in the Chernarus map, in the DCS map. Like a turduckin! :P After looking at the BIS forums, I don't think they are going to be interested in doing this. With the advent of TOH and now TOH: Hind, they are looking to compete with DCS' Flaming cliffs (with added FPS world). I still think there flight sim sucks, but they also have an FPS world, so they truly may end up stealing away players that are of the semi-realistic flight sim genre. Why stick with flaming cliffs when you can just buy add-on modules for Arma, and buzz huge landscapes and cities? DCS needs to head towards the direction of Arma ( and I think they could do a better job! ). While it will take more powerful computers ( which are available), it could be a much more interesting, and varied world then Arma. After all, Arma is a 10 YEAR OLD engine. If we want an FPS world, were going to have to look to DCS to do it, as the noose tightens around our realisitic flight sim genre's neck.
  22. Managing to get back to base alive. 100 points. I think I did that once!
  23. Lol, ok. But really, you look at the terrain of Arma 2. Whats so great about it? It wouldn't be THAT hard to improve DCS to Arma standards. Especially if you allow modders to add 3rd party buildings and objects, and work with the terrain in certain spots to make if feasible for ground FPS. The thing that DCS really seems to lack is good AI and ground level physics ( of course, because its a flight sim ). What we really need is a world editor for third party modders, with the ability to modify the terrain mesh like in Crysis 2.
  24. Yeah, like Depth said, just do like snipers do, and make your own range tables through trial and error. You'll eventually piece out the curve. As for the range tables, the government might as well release them as I'm sure the Chinese had it before our own pilots even. Dam government officials who can't keep their pants zipped.
  25. Yeah, but thats COD. COD is a curse word in the realistic fps circles.
