  1. @Mr_sukebe Thanks. Fully understand the relationship or lack off between cost of hardware and potential results in DCS. I've owned DCS and all its predecessors since it was Su-27 Flanker by SSI Studio's circa 1993. That said. Thanks v much for your reply. I'll run a few tests and post.
  2. Hey folks, After a wait of over 5 years I've just invested in a brand new pre-built gaming rig, see specs below. Cost the best part of £3500+ Also picked up a Quest Pro having previously had Quest 2, HP Reverb G1, Rift S and Rift CV1. So far i've been completely unable to achieve anything close to the performance and quality i expected from this new PC and the Quest Pro? Don't get me wrong, the QP is a massive step up from the Q2 and as a headset upgrade i couldn't be happier. I have tried pretty much every possible solution and combination of settings but the main issue i am seeing is constant stuttering in game. Frame rate is always pretty stable at whatever i've set it at, 72, 90 etc. Tried with and without Virtual Desktop, tried Open XR via the shortcut provided by BIGNEWY recently on the dedicated OpenXR compatibility thread. I also have DCS Steam version and all the above applies to that too, in fact performance/quality is much worse on Steam version although i am not at all familiar with optimising SteamVR having mostly used Oculus app for most titles i've run. In terms of in game settings i've tried all the standard DCS pre-sets and dozens of my own variations. I've also tried enabling/disabling Windows Game Mode, HAGS, Hyper-Threading, Windows Power service in msconfig etc etc etc.... Using Windows High Performance Power Plan. Still a complete stutter fest 99% of the time. With this rig DCS non-VR will run at 150-200 FPS (more on the Multi-thread build) with everything maxed out even in a busy SP mission. I don't do MP so no idea how that would go? I purchased the new rig and Quest Pro specifically to enjoy better DCS VR. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Oh and i get stuttering sound in DCS as well a lot of the time? Thanks. 4. Hi folks, I am having a problem with the trim hat on the above grip and it is saying in Sim App Pro that i need new the firmware (not sure if that is causing the problerm, but everything else is working fine). I have been unable to locate any specific firmware file for the F-16EX Grip on the WinWing Software downloads page? It looks like every other device is there but not the F-116EX Grip (not the Orion Base, which has latest firmware installed and is working fine). If anyone has the latest firmware file for this joystick grip please PM me and i will give details etc? See image below. Everything was working fine a day or so ago. All cables, connections etc have been checked, reconnected etc. All other devices ok as well? Thanks.
  5. You Sir.....are a legend!! And there it was! Would have never even looked there and especially as it is in a My Games and not a Saved Games folder my searches would not have found it either. Thank you very much indeed.
  6. I just this weekend re-installed my Steam version of DCS and updated to 2.8 OB. Trouble is i can't find the Saved Games- DCS Steam folder anywhere on my PC? It's not in C:\Users\Username\Saved Games etc and i've now run the sim and flown several missions so it should have been created somewhere on the system by now i believe? I've done file/folder searches of whole PC and no sign of it anywhere. I have standard Open Beta (2.8) and Stable (Latest) versions also installed on separate drives and they are functioning perfectly and both have working Saved Games Folders? Any info or help appreciated? Thanks.
  7. How do i make a track smaller than 5MB? Literally 20 seconds worth was 6 MB+ Never really worked with .trk's much? Tried compressing but didn't make any difference?
  8. I'm seeing no HUD or Avionics whatsover in Viper cockpit? Fixes tried so far: Re-started DCS Uninstalled and re-installed Viper Rescanned devices Checked HOTAS switches are in correct states. Un-plugged and re-plugged HOTAS. In cockpit all relevant switches are on when starting an in-flight IA mission. Tried several missions. All other modules are working ok. See image. Was working fine yesterday. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Using WinWing F-16EX Stick & WinWing F-16 TQS and HOTAS Orion Base.
  9. I have the WinWing F-16EX Joystick Grip and currently DMS right and left long are not making the MFD's SOI when using the Long press? Anyone had this issue or know of a possible cause? The appropriate keyboard commands for these functions also do not work? RAlt , and RAlt / All other commands/functions working and DMS working fine in other aircraft? This is a recent issue since upgrade to latest Open Beta. In DCS Control setting the DMS is working and assigned. Have disconnected/reconnected stick as well etc. All other buttons fine. Thanks.
  10. Thanks for the suggestions guys, but none of the above worked i'm afraid. I have cockpit detail set to 1024 Every Frame which i assume is what you mean by Max? I'm not using any other mods at all other than other planes etc. Just can't seem to get clickable cockpit either on ground or airborne? Thanks. 11. Is this mod still working in latest version of DCS Stable and/or Open Beta? I have Flaming Cliffs 3 on both Stable and OB. It shows up as installed in the DCS opening screen along the bottom where all aircraft and mods installed are shown. I've installed it in both Stable and Open Beta as per the instructions on Grinelli fsoutlet page and via Growling Sidewinders YT tutorial video. The problem is the cockpit avionics are always off other than the HUD. No MFD graphics whatsoever! Also, when enabling the clickable cockpit nothing works when you click on it? I've tried starting ground cold, ground hot, and airborne but none work in the ME? No luck in the IA missions supplied either. The mouse cursor doesn't even turn green when i hover over a button. The COM1 ground power trick doesn't work either although the Ground Crew comm menu is there and works but no APU cart appears. Mod is installed in Saved Games\DCS|mods\aircraft folders for both Stable and Open Beta but the problem is there with both versions? Any help appreciated. The Grinelli Discord is totally dead and no recent activity there and no response to my request for help? Thanks.
  12. This tool looks amazing and just what i have been looking for many years! Great work! My problem is....unfortunately i just converted over to WinWing Orion HOTAS as of about as month ago!! Doh! Very happy with those products so far though and have sold my TM Warthog HOTAS on eBay last weekend. How easy would it be with the right WinWing graphics (which i have already produced for my own charts) to make a WinWing version of this great tool? I have some coding experience but probably not enough to try something like this without messing it up!!! Lol! Just interested in your thoughts on this as lots of folks are using WinWing (and Virpil etc etc) gear these days? Thanks again for your work.
  13. I've been experiencing an issue with my Occulus Rift - S hand controllers in the Harrier? Basically when enabled and in the VR cockpit they cause quite severe jitter upon the in-cockpit joystick that constantly forces the nose of the jet towards the ground? If i disable them the issue goes away. I am not using the hand controllers to actually operate the HOTAS (as is apparently possible from the VR settings page) as i have a Warthog HOTAS and Cougar MFDs. The problem does not occur in any of the other modules i have that i have tested, Hornet, Viper and A-10C II so far. I realise i can operate without the controller and just use the mouse to interact with cockpit ontrols but i like to use the left controller for that purpose in order to stay hands on stick in flight. I prefer the immersion this provides. Any help or useful suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  14. Nope!!! Doh!! Thanks guys! Lol!!
  15. Can anyone tell me how to make my custom VR graphics settings in the System > VR section persistent between DCS re-starts? I'm talking about Terrain detail, Shadows etc not the specific separate VR tab with enable VR etc. Every time i set them and exit the sim i need to re-enter them again? Very annoying indeed! I've tried to find the relevant .lua file to make it Read-only but can't seem to locate the specific one? Any help much appreciated. Happy New Year pilots!
  16. Hi, Yes possibly, although the Cubesims are currently to the left already so it would probably have to be a slightly different edit to the .lua? See attached Cubesim.lua I will play around with a few edits and see which one brings the kneeboards back. Thanks again. CUBESIM.lua
  17. Hey there, i figured it out. I have 2 x LCD mini-monitors by Cubesim that i use with TM MFD's. Due to the larger monitor resolution required to run these (5840 x 1440) the kneeboards weren't running. I guess they need a specific part of the screen real estate to function. So i just changed to my default 3440 x 1440 and back came the kneeboards for all modules! Should have thought of that WAAAY sooner than i did! Of course i can't use the LCD's now if i want the Kneeboards but i can live with that as i fly VR quite a bit and often find myself looking at the actual on-screen MFD's when not playing in VR as they look a lot better than the LCD's. Maybe this experience will help someone else down the line with a similar issue. Thanks.
  18. All kneeboards in all modules. They worked in the past but since last or previous update none of them work at all?
  19. Ok, thanks. I have literally no idea why they aren't working in any of the modules i own?
  20. Do Kneeboards still work in DCS World 2.7.8? They don't for me right now? In any module? Info appreciated? Thanks.

  22. Hi, I don't seem to be able to get kneeboards to show whilst using this profile? Have tried with Viper and Hornet but nothing happens when pressing default keyboard command RShift-K Other commands work fine straight from the keyboard such as Escape, Active Pause etc, have tried changing Kneeboard On/Off command to other keys but still nothing brings up a kneeboard? Might be missing something simple but can't think what right now? Thanks.
  23. Interestingly, i just recently started using a similar program called Matric. It is very similar to yours in that there is a PC and a Tablet app involved, doesn't use DCS-BIOS at all though, just direct comms over Wifi or Bluetooth between PC-Tablet. It has the same functionality and you can build your own "decks" from a library of controls. It doesn't handle outputs back to the tablet though such as UFC entry values like radio freqs. Once set up though which is pretty easy it does work very well. I use it for generic commands mainly like Viiews, Kneeboard, Time Acceleration, Screenshot, Comms Menu etc. I also use DCS-UFC on another Android tablet for my UFC type inputs/outputs. Another great app!! Best of luck with your project, i will give it a try some time.
  24. SOLVED USB Data cable plug at screen end had slight damage to protective shroud around cable, wires slightly visible. I think it was in contact with the metal back plate of my Monstertech MFD plate. Or the internal wires were shorting maybe? Wrapped some electrical tape around, plugged in and problem solved.
