  1. As far as the flight model goes, I can live with. I thing ED did a fantastic job of conveying the feeling of flight. I particulary like the "feel" of the jet while pulling in a turn. I think more important than having a perfect flight model or avionics is to model each aircraft to their strengths. For example, if the 15 is the best high altitude performer out of the modelled A/C, then just make sure that's true, if it has the best look down radar, make sure it beats the other a/c in the game. If the mig 29 flies a tighter turn than the 15, it should be so in the game. My point being to make sure they modelled the advantages of particular aircraft rather than being perfect to the numbers. I'm sure I confused you all by that ... I confused myself by that.
  2. This is purely speculation ... but my guess is that the maneuverability isn't the problem, maybe the engines are a little underpowered at altitude, or too much drag at altitude ? Seems to me to be a power related problem.
  3. But .. they are visible in tactical formations .. which is why they exist.
  4. This is all fine and dandy .. but, I want to see the lights from 4000 to 6000 feet away. Before anyone says it .. this is not unrealistic ....
  5. How hard would it be to improve the formation lights so that they would be effective at night from 4000 - 6000 ft ?

  8. Ya, I'm in one .. not many people interested in hard core four ship sorties .. two of us fly pretty realistically together and looking to add two more.

I have no desire for simulated weapons myself ... but i do understand where the original poster is coming from and I found it pretty interesting that a bunch of people laughed it off ... even hinted that he lacked intelligence .. when it seems to me that his thinking is much , much deeper than some others here. He wants to simulate training in a fighter jet ... hmmmm in what others think of as a video game. I think it was a smart post but probably not going to happen.
  12. I am not too sure about missiles, but you can always do what they do in real life training for guns practice. Go up with you're two - fourship flight, split up and call "fights on". You bring up you're gun reticle and dogfight. You agree to rules of engagement such as tracking kills only. So basically you get on a guys 6, as long as you are in plane with him and can track the retical on him. You call out "guns guns guns" "Tracking kill F-15 maneuvering angels 10" or something of that nature. He acknowledges and you reset the fight. Not as fun as blowing people up, but if you are simulating training and don't want people in youre flight respawning (You took off in a four ship / you want to return in a fourship), it's very realistic to train this way. In real life, they do much the same thing with missiles also .. but I couldn't tell you much about the rules of that type of engagement. Falcon does have a simulate mode for weapons, but as stated above, it's not really necessary. Biggest disadvantage is that it's easy to accidentally shoot ! lol
  13. What's so funny about that Cali ? Me and a friend do this all the time. We like to fly realistic training missions, we take off, do some wing work and formation exercises, do some BFM with invulnerability on, then on to ACM, hit the tanker, go home. If we didn't have invulnerability on, wouldn't be a very realistic mission to have to respawn huh ? Server junkies might disagree with my idea of a realistic mission though .. LMAO
  14. Just re-reading .. sorry again .. I've gone off on my own little tangent that doesn't have much to do with the topic ! Pilot, I don't disagree with anything you've said.
  15. Ya, I do like lomacs flight models .. real or not, it does give you the feeling of flying better than most other sims. As far as the missiles, I don't really know ... maybe they are over done in falcon .. maybe not ... what I do like about it though .. is BVR is a chess match, you have to jockey for an advantage to get the first shot off. Usually the first guy to go on the defensive loses .. which I like. It's a good brain game. As far as heaters, if you practice BFM and ACM enough .. you can create aspect and angle problems for the bandit and his heaters. If you slip into his weapons parameters though ... it's all over ! My personal opinion is that this is a better way to do things. I do realize my opinion may not be the popular opinion though .. just mine. I like the idea of the chess match thing, you fight, turn maneuver to stay out of your bandits parameters, and put him in yours .. the first guy to have success at that is pretty much garanteed the win. It drives me nuts in Lomac that firing nearly any missile at a bandit online or offline rarely causes him to be defensive .. a few jinks, some chaff and flare, strobe the jammer and still prosecute the fight ... I hate that !
  16. A working radar, missiles that hit often, did I say radar ? I don't fly falcon anymore myself, I have gotten hooked on the graphics of Lomac and the formation flying abilities .. but in my opinion, those two things are the only two things that Lomac even comes close to falcon on. What I love about falcon is that when a missile is active on you, you ARE defensive, you have to leave that missiles parameters and you have to do it pretty much flawlessly or else ! Takes a whole lot more skill to fight in falcon. I realize this thread had nothing to do with that ... so sorry in advance for derailing things.

Try flying around about 10 feet off the deck, fly anywhere close to perpendicular to your bandit, then spam all your missiles and turn tail and run without supporting your missiles with radar ... I garauntee that you're score will go up .. and I think these qualify as weaknesses .. not skills ! This is what you will find a good percentage of the time on the servers through hyperlobby.

Be careful which techniques you learn .. many of the people on the servers have figured out how to exploit weaknesses in the game ... if any changes are made to the missiles / radars / seekers in the future, these super fighters on the servers will likely see their scores go the other way and they will have to look for new weaknesses.

  20. I'm not jumping on the sim is dying bandwagon .. I play this game alot and I like it alot. There are some things I don't like and I've posted them above .. so don't read into my post's that i'm anti lomac. I am pro-gripe though .. everyone should post there gripes .. how else will they know what we are unhappy with ? I am anti - anybody who says we should not post our gripes.
  21. Maybe, I haven't heard about any bugs in the 10's or 15's being fixed, just adding a helicopter .. now before a war starts .. I could be wrong .. if I am, please correct me, but as far as i've heard, the 15 you fly now, will be unchanged in BS.

I think you missed some of the points, I have not a problem if they don't patch up FC, if however they don't fix some of the issues and they carry over into they next version (BS) ... we (15's and 10's) would be fools to purchase it. Not to mention, I think your mentallity is seriously flawed .. these people purchased it, they have a right to put in their gripes.
