  1. Supporter for SP and MP DCS Theater and Campaigns Development +1 1. DCS Vietnam War 2. DCS Operation Desert Storm War (ODS) 3. DCS Israeli Wars 4. DCS Korea War 5. DCS Balkans War 6. DCS Afghanistan War 7. DCS GUAM or Pacific Wars 8. DCS Taiwan War 9. DCS Falklands War 10. DCS Libya War Just simply some nice scenery and elevations would be enjoyable with realistic battle-space scenes. With EDGE GEN 4 GFX and F-18 & F-16 +MiGs and Mirages, whoaa-yeah what a treat. You can also add to the list many theoretical wars as well as historical. There really needs to be either a 3rd Party Theater Group or maybe ED-DCS release like a SDK for public Theater and campaign building. Reference:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_development_kit ............. imagine yeah!:smilewink::thumbup: Well we dream!:music_whistling: Cheers :drunk:
  2. +1 for english Thanks
  3. DCS F-16C Long Live the Viper Well then long live the Viper in a ED-DCS brand especially since EDGE is on the way, oh men the drool is getting worse! Great news! NOW WATCH.............. Affordable, state of the Art, dependable its the standard by which all other fighter jets are judged! Awesome!
  4. DCS F-16C Block 50/52 with Operation Desert Storm Theater Hi all, I agree, a DCS F-16C Block 50/52 would be awesome especially since we have Cortex Design developing the F/A-18E. So I decide to copy paste my input from another Forum. There is also this thread...... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=95985 :music_whistling::( Over the years and as time goes by through public freedom of information much classified material on the F-16 has been released as restricted material for public use and through open source channels. This makes it a good time to develop a DCS F-16C Block 50/52, with combat gaming becoming the norm in house hold entertainment today like Ghost Recon, Battlefield 4, DCS WORLD + Combined Arms and ARMAIII so on, DCS will only benefit. Personally I disagree that defense forces make all this stuff available for public use under freedom of information as restricted documentation, but thats what they state on the documents. One of the reasons why there is so much declassified information on the F-16 I was told is because its an international fighter jet across many nations with many commonalities and shared systems, so with freedom of information much has been disclosed about the F-16. But it is allowed and most of the real sensitive stuff is taken out, not in circulation. Considering this post.... http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2136993&postcount=213 WHO DOES IT BETTER! :smilewink::thumbup: SALES UP 100% LoL PS:- I expect my reputation to go up 100%..... Brrrttt! Just hack sims that are not true air combat simulations, so sad but true!:( Cheers, :drunk:
  5. Hi Sobek, Darn it, I really got excited when I read the thread title. It would be awesome though with Cortex Designs F-18E and Carrier Ops thou, for dissimilar air combat tactics ( BFM - Dogfights) :smilewink: Cheers, :drunk:
  6. Lets take EDGE for example Hi, Well doing some Googling on EDGE for example....... This is not taking into account new Database of 3D High Quality Poly Modeling and Photo Realistic Terrain Texturing. E.g. .... Buildings, Trees, Tanks, ManPads, Sam Launchers etcetera ........... that will make the Scenery for sweet flying! Video example only using 3DSMAX Modeling Software.......... or So me hoping for the best in a few years time, there is also talk of more Theaters! Cheers :drunk:
  7. Hi bud, Well your incorrect there, thats why I said there is allot of Bla, Bla, Bla in many Forums. For example UNITY 3D covers "Large MAP and World Areas" there is a YouTube with a Unity 3D Developer stating this very point. He even goes to say that overheads in detail should be better managed by GPU and allow more CPU power for computing large terrain areas but thats where it all gets to technical for me all that Programmer / Developer jargon. Its all about optimizing your code and utilizing multi-core CPU's and what not! All I can say is there are military simulators already incorporating large MAPs with high end GFX, just by doing some Googling you soon see that allot is already happening out there. I guess what that requires is a base-code that supports and works best with these NEW GFX Engines. Where in some cases old code would have to be rewritten to support new terrain engines, but again this is a Game Programmer / Developer realm type discussion. I just posted along with thread for new Gaming Engines and how its becoming increasingly realistic like, its fantastic for gaming home entertainment type applications with Ultra HD 3D Screens and flight sim cockpits, awesome entertainment. I'm only hoping for more Air Combat Sims with these engines in future. Cheers,
  8. "HIGH END GFX AIR COMBAT FLIGHT SIMS" - Yes Please! Wow that is nice! Thats where the future of gaming is! In general terms its time for "Flight Sim Developers" to take note of the future of home entertainment. You get allot of bla, bla bla in Forums but many modern games are now heading this way. With one of these....... or .......... I only dream of "HIGH END GFX AIR COMBAT FLIGHT SIMS" ....... NOW DAYS!
  9. Hi well PATIENCE son :smilewink: Well if your not aware more here..... www.seveng-f18.com Cheers, :drunk:
  10. The Rihino's they rock! Hi I love researching dont worry... LoL Well look the RAAF and US NAVY Boeing F/A-18EF Advanced Super Hornet is undergoing all the upgrades and improvements as it is the BIGGER BROTHER. As to what exactly the F-18C really is getting that is not "CLASSIFIED" well your guess is as good as any. But here some more reading............ http://www.ausairpower.net/SuperBug.html I dont think that the F-18C is being fit for upgrades only "F/A-18EF ASH"! Now watch............. Cheers, :drunk:
  11. UNIGINE and UNITY 3D GFX Engines are Kool Its UNIGINE 3D Engine at work there according to Youtube Comments Web links........... http://unigine.com/news/ Another UNIGINE Video I also like UNITY 3D Engine............ http://unity3d.com/ There has been good ground breaking GFX in terrain making for flight sims what the future holds any ones bet Cheers :drunk:
  12. +1 Historical Wars where you can find heaps of data to make as realistic as possible. MY BEST SEVEN War Theaters:- 1./ Israeli Campaigns - 2./ Iraq Wars (ODS) 3./ Afghanistan 4./ Vietnam 4./ Balkans 5./ Korea 6./ Falklands 7./ Libya ............... possible few more but wouldn't it be better to introduce a DCS World Map like in FSX then you can select where you want to be and formulate an aerial battle strategy in your briefing stage mission planning phase . I.e . Fuel, Sortie Air Craft types, AWACS, ordinance, Threats, safe passage route etc................ Well basically these are the realistic hot spots and historical past wars and you can find heaps of background study Cheers, :drunk:
  13. Hi M8 tell me why explain what you mean? Its not bad I got the game FREE you able to buy air craft, missions, campaigns so forth. They will improve and develop it further is what I was told. I guess hard to please everyone! Cheers, :drunk:
  14. Hi all, I just got into into this, I heard it was okay not a deep study sim but I am having a ball. I just got my new Mustang P-51D next is a F-86 Sabre......... Get it here the base game is free to download ................. http://warthunder.com/ All the Add-ons are here .............. http://warthunder.com/en/store/addons Have fun if your interested! I love the missions, campaigns and the terrain detail is awesome even the GUI is really kool! Yeah I have read heaps already in their forum about many wishes, requests problems etc But I know the War Thunder Devs definitely want to ramp up the realism and FM code. It will take a while. Although all round its really a well developed product getting better as it develops. I am impressed with the constant patches, updates and fixes thats a good sign. Who else is here from over their? Well I just started I think its a great fun. For those who love WW2 Dog Fights! :D EDIT - Well.............. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125117  :smilewink: Cheers :drunk:
  15. F/A-18EF Advanced Super Hornet is most definately the Future Navy Fighter Well the F/A-18EF is controlled by a FCLS fully mature computer code. Since the F-17 base design This makes the F/A-18EF Super Maneuverable without thrust vectoring nozzles or advanced FM-AF redesign and modifications. Now like the video in my SIG watch and listen carefully:- AWESOME! Also the F/A-18EF Advanced Super Hornet Upgrades:- http://www.boeing.com/assets/pdf/defense-space/military/fa18ef/docs/EF_overview.pdf http://www.boeing.com/assets/pdf/defense-space/military/fa18ef/docs/bkgd_advanced_super_hornet_0813.pdf http://www.boeing.com/boeing/defense-space/military/fa18ef/ http://youtu.be/inN8zSrr8OA Must watch......... Some say the "F/A-18EF ASH" will continue to be an active fighter well into 2025 - 2050 along with the F-35's I love the F/A-18EF anyway. The F-14 variants did not make it to or saw no upgrades for refit for 5th gen type avionics now a retired fighter mainly to "End of Life" AF and avionics limitations. Where as the F-18 has taken on new ground in avionics adding JHMCS, long range conformal fuel tanks and new weapons systems due to many software upgrades so on based on the platform design. The F-18 was designed for future growth and expansion. I also love the F-14's they did rock! This is only going by what we know as declassified info. I hope that help others might offer more info! The very reason I am hanging out for............................ http://youtu.be/1qTxdss4Mtc :joystick:  :smilewink: Cheers
  16. AIR COMBAT SIMS. Hi Bud, Honestly I have to say I understand how most feel bouncing from Forum to Forum we all say and repeat the same things over and over again in every Forum. I came back to sim world with the mindset to get really stuck into Air Combat Sims since 2009. I also remember when Falcon 4.0 came out and was keen but not committed now 42 years of age all my other hobbies gone and moved on and I find the sim world is dying. I had a good collection of Air Combat sims in the 90's I had all the Janes stuff many others, you name it I had them all. Whats needed is the same efforts as in those days by Gaming Developers today. I mean gee we have break through's with new modern terrains like Outerra or even ARMAIII please watch WoW can you imagine a Falcon 4.0 with heaps of Theaters like that but I think better a WORLD MAP is needed like this..........http://youtu.be/cuuluAq4TtU?list=PLVBFboW7_AxGTmXBFAC3RtAPyokkBlF_3 ........... where people from squadrons can play from their country against other nations. Then start adding heaps of air craft and 3D ground content. Recently was reading Dovetail Games purchased FSX license and looking for creative new ideas how to expand on that sim. I also was reading how FSX has reached "End of Life" with its code. So where are all those FSX developers going why not get a hold of those gents and start building one great sim with Air Combat and Commercial Aviation all under the same roof. Kind of like this.............. The DREAM SIM! Gee I would pay anywhere between $250 for the sim and additional theaters for $100 with high end GFX like that! I have XPlane 10 its really nice you can fly some nice fighters but no Weapons or Theaters with Dynamic Campaigns sadly! If you dont have FreeFalcon 6.0 get here......... http://www.g4g.it/2013/11/24/free-falcon-v6-0/ I just dont get why there are so many sims yet none really fill in the gaps like they use to in the 90's other than the commercial flight sims like XPlane10. I'm just tired of reading public opinions and community infighting due to developers in general not accomplishing great Air Combat Sims anymore......... across so many Forums. Its hard to bare and discussions get very heavy because of the dilemma that we all face turning on each other, sadly. Its really a sad state of affairs knowing that we have great graphic improvements and fast broadband servers now days but NO AIR COMBAT SIMS like the 90's anymore.........:cry_2::cry_2::cry_2::cry_2: We the Flight Sim Community have posted all over the internet as to what we want..............its no secret............it would be better for a group of sims to merge forming a large developer group and make the best around sim ever combining Air Combat with Civil Aviation. But, will it ever change ppffttt dont know............. Well take care!
  17. Just to make note that the upgrades are very impressive for these two trainers.............. * BAE HAWK AJT ................ "LINK" * BOEING Goshawk T-45..................... "LINK" Concerning its systems and avionics for pilots in training in real life that is. (IF YOU FIND BETTER REFERENCES LET ME KNOW) Nice
  18. On this point alone so much could be said, Positive and Negative! I was reading early this week from FSX developers that FSX code is or has reached its end of life, meaning just cant do anything else with it. Then I found another article just by clicking links that developers are looking for the next best thing as to what that is pffft who knows. These nice treats called "Air Combat Sims" seem to be a dying breed of games, sadly at present time! As to what the future holds when developers with skills in Flight Sims have no where to go is any ones best guess. But you never know where the future holds or will be. Look how gaming and home entertainment has kicked off in the last 10 years its going to become the main source of entertainment. People want more and more and I believe simulations like Air combat will turn upwards in demand just my prediction considering modern gaming trends. Look at this for example................ his webpage http://viperwing.com/#curved-screen Right now there are some gaming rig companies building some fancy tech for flight sims. So to consider a more realistic view of what is Air Combat and a Training Pipeline adopting trainer jets would be a good move forward for future growth and expansion a more realistic approach to combat pilot career and enjoyable experience. Just one trainer jet to be created would be fine by a 3rd Party Developer to introduce the concept would be good grounds for this project again to simulate the whole training pipeline aspect and realism. But yes, I also would agree with concerns in this thread and simply see this as a discussion, in my honest opinion. Cheers
  19. Well maybe once the F-18E by Cortex Design is released and sales go up because so many gents hanging out for it including myself. A McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) T-45 Goshawk can be worked on as it offers carrier ops keeping in mind that Cortex Design is working on Carrier Ops as well! :smilewink: Anyway lets keep in mind the original post was..............
  20. Amen brother! :smilewink: No offense to outlawal2 as I also agree with his concerns, for obvious reasons as to how things really work in sim world! Although if there is a willing 3rd Party Developer from FSX or other that would love to incorporate a Trainer Jet for DCS as mentioned in thread it would just make DCS even better. To incorporate a realistic cadet training pipeline course by adopting a pilot qualification pipeline in rank and air craft mastery would really pump up the realism or real to life experience! USAF Training Pipeline Diagram - http://i1171.photobucket.com/albums/r543/picturebucket7/FFOSP/Marine_Corps_Aviation_Pipeline_zps76578ba5.jpg Heck if could I would pay a developer millions of $$$ to make a Air Combat Sim for home entertainment as close as to the real life experience in every aspect. But one step at a time much like the FSX community it has it all except the WAR aspect sadly. But dont fret guys its just chatter, and a community view of interest! Take care! Wraith!
  21. Hey@all Well I voted the HAWK also............. BAE Systems supplies Hawk Advanced Jet Trainers (AJT) to 18 Nations around the world to help flight crews develop their piloting and navigational skills. Hawk AJT, the world's most capable and cost effective advanced jet trainer. Hawk AJT operates in environments from the Arctic Circle to the tropics. It has modern glass cockpit and avionics systems that replicate front line aircraft such as Typhoon and F-35 Lightning II, allowing a smooth transition for students moving on to these aircraft. Operators of air borne weapons and radar systems also use our jet trainers to improve their expertise. I also like the McDonnell Douglas T-45 Goshawk Trainer for its carrier operations!
  22. Advanced A.i Artificial Intelligence in Game Development One of my concerns is a growing trend in Multi-Player over the last few years and how it impacts on A.i. (Artificial Intelligence) and Single-Player Offline game functionality in regards to a few remaining Air Combat Simulators that are currently in development. Many have forgotten that it was Microprose Falcon 4.0 A.i Dynamic Campaign that brought much excitement to Air Combat Simulators that rivals todays standards. More here on that Link:- http://www.combatsim.com/memb123/htm/jan99/f4-camp1.htm But let us leave that great old sim alone for the mean time and simply look and discuss “Advanced A.i in Game Development in Modern Day Games”! When you take a look at other games in the gaming industry the market audience demands more in this realm of A.i because many of today's titles have evolved or taken a quantum leap forward into how some games even communicate with themselves meaning Advanced A.i Technologies. Please watch this…………… Mmm, food for thought, I think? EXAMPLE OF A.i in games like in ARMIII and Battlefield4......................... So now consider PC CHESS Games even professional Chess players will tell you they are a great asset and tool to learn and master set moves even to challenge your strategy as the A.i's intuitive code / algorithms have proven to be quiet the challenge. Learn more by browsing this Link…… http://www.filiphofer.com/en/ An interesting article to read by Donald "DJ" Kehoe A.i Games Developer About the Author As an instructor for New Jersey Institute of Technology's Information Technology Program, DJ developed the specialization in game development and teaches many of the program's courses on Game Architecture, Programming and Level Design, as well as courses that integrate 3D graphics with games. He is currently working on his PhD in Biomedical Engineering where he applies game and virtual reality to enhance the effects of neuromuscular rehabilitation. Article Links:- https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/designing-artificial-intelligence-for-games-part-1 https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/designing-artificial-intelligence-for-games-part-2 Links and Videos on Gaming - Artificial Intelligence - Algorithms -Theaters of WAR :- [ame]http://www.stanford.edu/dept/HPS/TimLenoir/Publications/Lenoir-Lowood_TheatersOfWar.pdf[/ame] [ame]http://www.lead-pursuit.com/downloads/understanding_the_campaign.pdf[/ame] A few more........... http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/089812218790109X http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_chess http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_intelligence http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_intelligence_%28video_games%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_theater http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War It is my hope that with Advanced A.i technologies improving that “Air Combat Sims” will embrace more of what A.i brings to the 21st century of game development. I welcome discussion and A.i input (joke :megalol:) that has creativity and insight for "Modern Air Combat Simulation" gaming considering that Air Combat sim's can be taught maths and laws of physics that apply to aviation and air combat especially 5th gen fighters. I.e. A.i. planes can be taught to learn energy-management and angular timing and positional geometry. When to exchange angles for energy in Dogfights. In some cases A.i planes in combat sims do not know how to recognize and equalize total energy differences potential and kinetic towards their targets or wing-men flying in formation. In some cases A.i Fighter Air Craft fly very linear scripted and mostly only lead pursuit with max AOA bleeding off energy constantly and suffering from it. Also with good flight model physics modeling the effect of flight control departure, spins, spirals, falling leaf, inverted loss etcetra are implemented into a combat sim. Video Example - Now considering this is an air combat with developer interest of further developing more air craft and MAPs / Theaters, again emphasis on A.i Single Player opens opportunities. Where for example you might fly into a Theater campaign where you are first tasked to make a safe path for CAS missions a bomber squadrons that are tasked with bombing runs on enemy ground forces then by destroying all SAMS sites and combine tactics with high level bombers, helo's and low level fighter air craft against military targets and militia type ground attacks around a suburban type scenario. The A.i then allows you to communicate with other air craft in the support mission phase to complete the tasking orders and patrol the area assigning new orders depending on dynamic campaign development. Imagine an F-117 dealing carpet bombing whilst your heading north destroying SAMS in a F-18 and F-35 ship of 4 etc whilst AWACS alerts you of enemy air craft approaching as you switch from A-G to A-A and coordinate a defensive strategy to overcome the incoming SU-27 bogeys. Again like simulating a Chess game you have multiple choices to make as a combat pilot and you learn heaps as you either fail or win the situation and review your ACMI recording. Which is built into the game. Just so much more that a PC Air Combat game could offer but, I see that these days are not like the JANES USAF or Microprose Falcon 4.0 and many other nice game titles of the old days. Sadly! Especially now that we have all this new technology like this - Its just so sad not to have a modern all out sim looking like this - Again awesome and to have a global map that would look like that would make this sweet! Well here I now leave this topic open for the general flight sim community to share your thoughts creativity so on. I just wanted to state I got permission first by a DCS Moderator on this topic before opening a new Topic in this Forum section. So please respect the Topic and share your A.i input............ :smilewink: Thanks! Kind Regards, Wraith
  23. Just to add Typically.................. Sequence is as follows............... B.V.R. > W.V.R. > A.C.M aka the Furball > B.F.M aka the Dogfight Your aim should be not to tango in knife fights but B.V.R target acquisition and destroy notch and bump out of the threat zone. The B.V.R situation may very into mutual support engagements in and out depending on circumstance. It may be a solo flight or squadron or even split. Due to many determining factors on many possible situations like available ordinance, Fuel, Air Craft and AWACS Support, weather, enemy ground defense network, enemy Air Craft knowledge +/- ( maneuverability) sometime better to turn and burn. But its fact most wars have been pulled into B.F.M aka dogfights via splitting squadrons tactically strategically breaking the fight and win the battle. Once your in the B.F.M situation its vital to control the circumstance and keep your WEZ open exchanging for offensive and defensive maneuvering in your strategy to win the fight the aim is to pull in your lift vector on the bandit on his vulnerable Six O'Clock when in guns only option. Although there are books and online pdf's on this that offer more detailed discussion over 100 pages or so. But we really need a good air combat sim that really holds to true air combat fundamentals and offers this in A.i and Human play as this is just more long winded wishful thinking. We need more Air Craft better battle space situations in combat sims. Me Dreams maybe one day! Maybe the DCS F-18 and a SU-27 development might offer better practice into Dogfighting... mmm me thinks! Cheers
