  1. Natural adversaires of the 2000 are MiG-29 or F-16, not third gen MiGs flying trash cans. Also, if you're loosing at ACM versus Su-27 or F-15, you're doing something terribly wrong.

On 2000 RDY, the police mode (labelled IDF, identification) gives the pilot successive trajectory cues that guide the intercepting aircraft on the rear right sector of the target aircraft (to allow police light ID which, as Zeus said, is placed on the left side). I don't know if the RDI features those trajectory cues but as Zeus said, it's basically an air marshall mode. :)

  6. I can't see anything that could prevent you from doing so. But this usually never happens, controls are as precise in AA as they are in CHARGES.

  8. Lose the wings ? Certainly not on the 2000, on which the wings are particularily strong. The bolts of the wing pylons will fail once they reach their mechanical load limit long before the wings start to fall off. Care with the hard stop, it can allow very high loads (12 G). Some (in the HAF) mentionned an emergency recovery at 14 G (not harmless for both the aircraft and pilot, that goes without saying). :D Azrayen : are you certain about the 290°/s roll rate ? I thought it was 270

  10. Well, to me, there are two cases : - Autopilot off, the trim basically works like a standard trim. However, I am not sure if loadout asymmetry is compensated automatically. - Autopilot on, in basic mode, which holds your attitude (bank and pitch). The trim then acts like a mini stick, to send precise inputs to the autopilot. A click left, the autopilot banks a little (but keeps this position, and does not continue to roll) and so on. If the pilot needs to perform an important trajectory correction, he depresses a palet behind the stick, which temporarily disconnects the autopilot. After the correction is made, he releases it, and the autopilot keeps the new attitude, modifiable via the trim inputs. This is how I see it. However, it could need confirmation (especially on the asymmetry thing).
  11. Trim is most generally used coupled with autopilot. The trim then acts as cue for the autopilot. FBW autotrim laws of the 2000 are not G-driven like on the F-16 but attitude-driven (maintains a constant attitude).

  13. The Kfir is.. The 2000 is precisely not. Not trying to make the thread derail but you don't make assumptions on the 2000 behavior based on III derived aircraft. Landing speed are much slower than that, 120 - 140 kts.

  15. If I recall, the ILS FPM cue is represented by a small asterisk (inside the FPM circle when aligned), not a box.
  16. ARMAT has never been mounted nor tested on Mirage 2000C RDI on standard S5, the one modeled by RAZBAM. It hasn't passed the tests (trials on C S1) stage. And I'm not even sure these tests on S1 aircraft were concerning weapon integration, probably just aerodynamics validation.

    The best tool for flight sim analysis (even works with real life GPS tracks !), a must have ;)
  20. I've said it a few pages ago, very short field and emergency. They are good (carbon-carbon disk brakes).

There are significantly advanced and improved version of those flight models (by the same author), in which data is more accurate. I won't discuss it more on ED forums ; approach speed is around 140 kt, when really loaded, it's more around 160. Landing speed is 120 - 140 kt. You can check that on a real video, showing a 2000C landing on its two wing tanks (gear retracted). Approach speed is around 145 kt.
  22. I didn't say that, probably, but I implied it. The fact that FBW and improved aero formula significantly improves handling, lowering approach and landing speed among others, is an evidence. It is lower than that (especially loaded).
  23. As I said, FBW and improved aerodynamics lower approach and landing speed, and cannot be compared to the much higher speed of MiG-21 or Mirage III. The chute is rarely used, in some particular cases I mentioned. What you said : Is not true. Landing speeds on the 2000 are particularly low.
  24. Dude. What don't you get about : the 2000 is equipped with fly by wire controls ? It's not an iron. Landing speed is actually lower than on F-16.
  25. Landing speed is slow, 130 - 140 kt, aerodynamic braking and brake are doing a good job. Drag chute is only used in particular situations (emergency or very short field). Nothing compared to Mirage III or MiG-21, thanks to, again, vastly superior aerodynamics and flight control systems.
