  1. Well, anyways.. as for the closing velocity I believe it must be a delta-true airpseed. It's the most relevant for the pilot. And if there is a target airspeed indicated on the radar screen (to be confirmed), most relevant information would be an indicated airspeed approximation based on target's altitude.
  2. Okay, I may have said some bs. I do not have any visualisation I can check on right now, so : what are the parameters given by the radar ? I have now a doubt the target speed (*not* closing speed) is even displayed.
  3. That's my point : - target speed is indicated airspeed - closing velocity is true speed ..should be clearer that way, in case I mixed stuff up in my previous posts
  4. Well I think a target speed indication in indicated airspeed makes sense (and i think ir is the case I said) but I am perplexe about a IAS closing velocity. What will be the reference altitude used in the calculation if the aircraft and target altitudes are different (by a lot) ? Is it safe ? If two aircraft at high altitude and high speed are closing fast, a CAS velocity indication will be very misleading.
  5. The calculated CAS of target takes into account its altitude ofc.

    ARMAT?

With GBUs and Exocets ? I sign with both hands :D
  7. It would not be a precise calculation, the algorithms used certainly take the standard atmosphere as reference.
  8. For instance, the value given by the F-16 SNA are hybrid : target speed is CAS to evaluate its kinematic capabilities (by how much can the target maneuver ? What is target's performance reserve ?) and closing velocity is given in delta GS (probably for time estimation until merge, join up). It should be the same on the 2000.
  9. Not certain the closing velocity is given as CAS. I assume a delta GS indication would be more relevant

    ARMAT?

If you want ARMAT create a Mirage IIIE or Jaguar module. But please keep it away from the 2000.
  11. You won't find it :)
  12. Merge can also happen with the wing bags, so yes it makes sense
  13. Well, there's a point in doing so, if you need to save your life (case of a HAF 2000 pulling 14 G, IIRC, resulting in airframe damage and pilot injuries.. but alive).
  14. Not on the C. The twin Uliss 52P installed on the 2000D are GPS embedded.
  15. I'm pretty sure the real Uliss 52 INU has capabity to perform alignment from a stored heading, accelerating the process.
  16. Not quite certain about that either..
  17. Uhm. The Tyffie is not te first fighter capable of pulling 9 G with full internal fuel load... as for its centerline tank, it is also load factor limited.
  18. RDIs have indeed secondary AG capabilities. It demonstrated so in the Balkans. And no, GBU-12 is not a departure from realism. Check what is done with RDIs in Africa, opération Barkhane : they carry GBUs for buddy lasing.
  19. Are these pictures from DTU, Roman's and Crosnier's book ?
  20. There are also many discrepancies between the different RDM export variants.

    M2000 vs Mig-21

16's ITR is inferior. The 2000 has a clear edge at the beginning of an engagement.
  22. There is PvP and PvP. One could be described as gamer PvP, where balance prevails and players require double Magic racks for viability, and can be found on servers such as 104th. The other is more axed towards realism, and is more frequent privately, inside squadrons, or on another well known combat flight simulator. I'm pretty sure the only kind of PvP criticized here is the former.
  23. It certainly could, but it wouldn't. The solution of carrrying two additionnal 530D is absolutely non efficient. The aircraft barely has enough fuel to handle à typical interception mission with two fox 1 and two heaters. Two additionnal missile would ruin the aircraft performance and wouldn't be intelligent. Hence, such a mod would be extremely unlikely. Same for MAGICs. It's not à missile truck, wasn't intended to dogfight for ages. No need to carry stuff you don't need. As for the ARMAT, Armée de lAir had the Jag to do the job. Later, it was 2000D's and Rafale rôles Irh with AASM and cruise missile. Useless mod again.
  24. No, just no. If you think and are à little pragmatic you'd find out why these field mods would be nonsense.
  25. Poor MAGIC 2 performance is à DCS issue. IRL it is à better weapon than 9Ms.
