  1. Guys whats the status on this? Any news on availability?
Winger
  3. The bird is growing on me and id love to know if there are already missions out there that I could fly with my friends. Thanks a lot for sharing! Winger
  4. Anyone know where i can find a decent Template with UV overlay and separate weathering rivets etc? Thanks a lot!
  5. Thats how i do it: 1. Lift flaps (the thing doesnt need flaps to takeoff) 2. Stick back to lock tailwheel 3. Revs to 3k 4. Keep slipindicator in the middle 5. 150 km/h release stick backpressure (dont push forward) 6. Keep slipindicator int he middle 7. The plane will start to ascend on its own 8. As soon as youre airborn pull in the gear
  6. Tahans. Is there an aproximate ETA yet?
  7. Thanks Poly. Where can i buy?:)
  8. HEy guys. Sorry for not reading everythign up. I am lazy. And am sitting at work so. Where please can I buy the Gazelle? Or is it a free mod? Thanks!
  9. Yes it is. Its hard to hit the right spot since to klickpoints seem a little of but its something you can get used to.
  10. Haha, at the beginning when i didnt have everythign mapped to hotas and needed to lean forward to grab they keyboard i found myself wathcing out so i dont bump my head on the canopy. Wich IS NOT THERE:) And i did that numerous times and always thought to myself. Dude, do you learn it?:)
  11. AWESOME. Thanks for the headsup. After sitting in a plane witht he CV1 i KNOW every flightsim enthusiast that only experienced this ONCE will never go back. I just feel a little sorry for the guys that payed so much moiney and effort for recreating 1:1 simpits. I regularily catch myself watching out not to bumb my head on the canopy when moving forward to my keyboard in the FW. I always then think to myself "LOL - there is nothing i could bump my head at":P Gosh. This is awesome. I feel like a little kid that just got the most awesome toy ever in his life. Well, actually it is the most cool toy i ever got. And my wive tends to say "Men dont get marture - only their toys get more expensive":P And she is soooo right:)
  12. I read they are hiring staff for the creation of CV2. But i think hoping for a CV2 release during this year is delusional. I think the earlies realistic point would be to "hope" for something substantial on a CV2 by the end of next year.
  13. Yes you can - easily. But i doubt you want since they are built into the SDK. So positional audio is great, soundquality is great and they are very comfortable to use. Many people dont know: The rift even has a built in mike thats working pretty well.
  14. I got a request to the devs for Oculus implementation. Things that need improvement and shouldnt be too hard to realize: 1. Please dont stick the options windows (after you pressed ESC when you sit inside the aircraft) to the headmovement. On the far outer edges the text is readable but it can be very hard. If the options screen would just stay in the middle, one could read everything far better and do settings easy while wearing the CV1. 2. Please add some sort of zoom. Contactvisibility at long distances is there but trying to identify can be hard at higher distance. Some sort of Zoom/binoculars would be awesome and help with that. 3. 3D Mousecursor needs some love. I mean if thats possible. Right now i can see it slightly double. Klicking in the middle of both seems to help:) I hope implementation of the oculus touch controllers once theyre released will solely solve the problem with that. 4. Not directly VR related but i dont want to make an extra thread on this so: I dont know how it is for the K4 and other planes (didnt get too try too much yet but will definately) when taxiing the FW 190 it felt a little too much "on rails". There should be really slight up and down movement when you roll over tiny craggedness in the rollway/runway. Thanks!
  15. I had the DK2 only for a brif period of time. I considered the resolution as non acceptable and sold it. Not so for the CV1. Resolution is much better and considered "OK but number one of the list to improve for CV2".
  16. The closer objects are the better the depth perception. The cockpit and plane itself really feels as if youre right sitting there. Heck. Going to far forward makes you think you actually could knock your head on the revi:). When flying deep down low the feeling of speed is totally awesome. Much easier to fly through really tight spaces or under bridges. The farther away an item is the less depthperception you have.
  17. Aye. Good idea! Devs: Please add fixed multiplier zoomstages for VR users:) Thanks!
  18. I agree. Only thing is that as long as the resolution renders a "problem", adding zoom would at least be a temporary workaround. Even if it causes discomfort. I mean you dont AHVE to use it all the time - eh?:) I dont really know. It all might just be subjective. Since in fact the resolution of the rift is 2160x1200 and therefor almost comparable to WQHD 27" display on wich contactspotting is not really an issue. So theoretically the contactspotting shouldnt be too diffrent. I am no gamedev and dont really know but maybe it just feels? harder to spot since youre much closer to the pixels? Would be awesome if a dev could say something on the matter.
  19. I tried to use the function "zoom in view (slow or so)" function i was using without oculus but it doesnt react anymore. But I am not sure. Maybe I miss something? Only treid it out a few hours yesterday.
  20. I realized there is no zoom. And i ask myself why. @ Maybe a dev could chime in and tell us why there is no zoom?
  21. Just a little headsup on CV1 and DCS World: GUUUUYS THATS SO FRIKKIN AWESOME, JAWDROPPING IMMERSIVE CRAAAAAZYYYYYNESSSSS!!!!!!! I almost got wet pants when sitting in the FW 190 for the first time. Really. If you have a chance to test it out somewhere. DO IT!
  22. Problems with gunsights in Dora and Kurfürst with Oculus CV1 I see it double and only can aim when closing one eye. Is there any solution to this?
  23. There are already numerous VR gloves and handtrackingsolutions in development. Some of them work pretty well. That combined with a proper HOTAS is what will be the future for flightsimming i believe. But that might still be a year or two away. MAybe with CV2? They are already hiring staff bigtime for the development of CV2. EDIT: Is anything known when the CV1 will start working in DCS? I really cant wait.
  24. I got my CV1 a few days ago. I am a gamer since I am like 12 years old. Thats 30 frikkin years:) And only thing i can tell you is - THIS IS THE NEXT BIG THING GUYS. Dont miss out on it. Its such a blast. @Wags: I see what you mean. But all I can say is just get a bigger HOTAS. I agree it could become an issue with the more complex planes. But for things like WWII planes its absolutely no problem to put all needed functions simply to the HOTAS. For more complex stuff the user can just use the mouse and klick in the cockpit. I mean isnt that what the clickable cockpits have been made for? Immersion? OR use Voiceattack - I am using it with Elite Dangerous (also has loads and loads of functions) and it works flawlessly. Takes a little time to setup properly but its well worth it. And arent we flightsimmers used to "setting up stuff" anyways?:) Also for the VIVE you could look into supporting the gripcontrollers. This way you can simply press the buttons you need with the controller. Mid of the year Oculus will get similar controllers (Oculus touch). Regarding the resoution and screendoor effect. I know it was unbearable with the DK1 and 2. And its still an issue with the CV1. But let me tell you in Eve Valkyrie for example its no issue. Everything can be read pretty well. I think in DCS one should easily be able to real all instruments. And if you get a little close also the HUD of a modern jet. Making out contacts shouldnt be a big problem with the way DCS World 2 handles the contact visibility. I think its all about how the gamedevelopers handles it. When you get into the content whats forgotten the quickest is things like screendoor effects:) IMHO The effect is only an issue since we are used to extremely high resolutions in everyday use. I mean WQHD is pretty much standard nowadays. But its nothing you cannot get used to i think.
  25. where do i get that? Gimme please:P Thanks!
