you guys need a DCS:Sedan and a DCS:Office Building so you can populate my World with cannon fodder All jokes aside.....I like the idea about civilian aircraft (and vehicles/ship) in the game, just because I dont necessarily want to fly one doesn't mean I dont see the value in a wider spread audience.... here lately I found myself doing more and more scenic flights, but I normally populate a small village with insurgents so i can finish my scenic tour with some rocket salvos I just had a stoner moment .... how about a DCS:Ground crew....would work good with DCS:ATC

night and day... the co-axle rotors counteract each others torque in the Ka-50...the Huey is a traditional helicopter design with a tail rotor to counter the torque of the main rotor blades digging into the air with increased collective next the Huey has no flight computer....the Ka-50 had a flight system that does all the micro inputs for you as you fly...once you get use to the system, you literally just point the airframe the way you want to go, and it does the rest... besides that...ever thing else about them is different also...about the only thing they have in common is that you can buy a simulation of them on the ED website....

the hold, maneuver, then release is the proper way I believe.....I fly like this now also.....But I will confirm that BS1 was not like this and you could in fact just push the stick forward, click the trimmer, then release the stick in accordance with the centering system and fly on.....now the trimmer system is actually trimming the aircraft for where it would be if you were not fighting the AP 20%....so you push the stick a desired amount, hit the trimmer, the airframe goes further then the position then you where hoping.... ....I wonder what the real BS is like.....I dont mind the new way....but it was easier to fly in BS1 with the clicky clicky spam trimmer method....

has nothing to do with it
-
in BS1 you could just click the trimmer no problem.....in BS2 the trimmer is accounting for the 20% authorization and if you dont trim before moving the stick, it will over trim by 20%.....I believe this is the over trimming that Karabiatos is speaking of....no longer is it good to click the trimmer....BS1 didnt do this

GPU Upgrade: Nvdia 760 GTX, or ATI 7950 HD??
Davis0079 replied to VanjaB's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
760gtx will not disappoint... unless you have the big bucks for a titan(very handy with multi monitors) you can consider this a good goto card http://www.legitreviews.com/evga-geforce-gtx-760-superclocked-w-acx-cooling-video-card-review_2240 Quote "When it comes to performance the EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Superclocked w/ ACX proved to be one heck of a contender! If you game on a single monitor, this card should have plenty of power and be able to run all the game titles with the image quality settings you want. At 1920×1080 this card performed excellent and was nearly equal to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680. Seeing a ~$250 card running with a card that used to be $500 when it first came out is impressive. Overclocking of the EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB video card showed that with a little time and effort, you can make this card faster than a GeForce GTX 680 in most all game titles. We were able to overclock the GPU by 130MHz and the memory by 775MHz, which is insane considering this card was already factory overclocked. When NVIDIA GPU boost kicked in with out overclocked settings we had the 1152 CUDA cores ripping through frames at 1320MHz with the 2GB of GDDR5 memory running at 7560MHz. This is the best overclock that we have ever done on a GeForce GTX 760 and keep in mind the reference card comes clocked at 980MHz core (1033MHz boost) and 6008MHz memory. Obviously, we had no complaints when it came to performance or overclocking." the 760s in SLI score through the roof with a solid processor pushing them.....I wouldnt put a AMD dual core in front of them and expect much....but any i5 or i7 (or equivalent) will not suffer from installing one of theses or two -
Flight Engineer - is he necessary? :o)

only thing stressful about the Blackshark is the lack of a cupholder and an ashtray.....its hard to steer a stick with your knee, hold a beer and light a smoke all at the same time....that and the addition of a dashboard hula dancer would be nice since the backup ADI does'nt hold its calibration for more then ten minutes -
well, we hit the 100k mark with 12 days left...and on top of that we have another friday(payday) coming up...

OMG...someone mentioned the cobra maneuver....let me go get my popcorn....I'm glad I made it in time for the start of the show....

How to raise up the jet blast deflector?
Davis0079 replied to Lao Fei Mao's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
i think they were disabled because once they go up they wont go down.....but its pretty late here, so I could be very wrong -
kinda on the same subject....I used shoot in IL-2 alot...in single player and multi....shoots doesnt seen to work with windows anymore, so then I moved to VAC....once setup they work great, you set it to voice activated and with IVC on the PTTs, it makes ramp, radio, and tower calls alot more fluid and immersive....even in single player, being able to call out "Check Six!" instead of hands on keyboard tab/ Fkeys, this simple detail is alls it takes to change it from a game, ....To an Experience.....
-
its just really nice when you can set your VHF to your flight and the UHF to guard...two ptt buttons.....one for talking in your flight and one for calling out missile shots..... ...its not about every one on the same channel and you having to listen to a bunch of kids....Its about the Sim being setup like it is it the real world....you dont what to hear the chatter...you and your wingy just change the frequency in the pit...just like in the real world....but unlike TS, getting back to that channel is just a tune of the radio, not an alt/tab into TS BTW...IVC has no lag issues that I have every experienced.....
-
one of the top 10 reasons to play BMS online.....you learn proper use of guard channels and everything.....would be well worth the time it takes to work out....this is no little feature....its the thread thats ties it all together....you want great multi player, you need a dedicated comms system.....would even be great in the WWII setting too....
-
since no one has said it yet, I will WHY DOES'NT DCS HAVE SOMETHING LIKE IVC IN BMS......IVC IS JUST PLAIN OLD BAD ASS....SET YOUR VHF AND UHF INGAME AND USE THE VHF AND UHF PPT BUTTONS INGAME TO TRANSMIT ON THAT CHANNEL WWWWHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYY DOESNT DCS HAVE THIS......WWHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYY

Gunsight not correct - due to PLP-Monitorsetup
Davis0079 replied to LNR212's topic in Bugs and Problems
this problem still exist.....CA uses the GUI setting for the gunsight overlay....not very handy for a 2 monitor vertical stack Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1600; height = 1800; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = screen.aspect; } } Gui = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1600; height = 900; } UIMainView = Gui not a big complaint on my list...but note worthy....you will hear a lot less from me about the little stuff when you get the F-18 flying P.S. I have flickering water textures because of my 1800 vert res....the water tiles at the bottom of my screen blank out when I pan my view around....once again not a big deal because I'm getting another 1600x900 screen and making a 2700x1600 viewport soon....hope 1600 isnot to big and the missing tiles fill in correctly....?????.... -
all this will get looked at when DCS: Abrams comes out in a couple weeks

Davis0079 replied to captainteemo's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight

I love it...we can flame all year long..... -
I already have my lua file setup with the GUI position.....I'm 1600x1800 with my gui at 1600x900......and i still have a phantom monitor problem......and I will also confirm that after many many test loads and launches that the phantommontiorfix works to fix it.... So its not just an easy UImainview=GUI fix because playing and redoing my monitor lua was the first things I tried before PeterP posted the fix from 2009 Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1600; height = 1800; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = screen.aspect; } } Gui = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1600; height = 900; } UIMainView = Gui I tried to rep you Peter, but I guess you where one of the last ppl I rep'ed a while ago and I need to spread the love a little before it will allow me to give you any more kisses

ok...stupid windows 7 question.....I cant get into the appdata folder...under my user name...cant see it....but I know its there because when i try to create a folder of the same name it says it already exist and asks to merge......I'm Admin and owner, ful permission...how do I unhide the folder...when I windows search for it I can only fine a hidden one in UpdatusUser folder....
-
PeterP...I just saw your edit and will try this and get back with you to confirm this fix....thz you very much....once again you have proven to be the multi monitor guru.... I'm running hp 2009m monitors (cheap...I wish i could afford three 23" 3D capables...but I'm on a very small budget since I just bought a 760gtx) and purposefully bought a second matching monitor with the goal off buying a third one....I will one day have three in portrait with nvidia surround and be able to run in fullscreen again
-
I'm running at 1600x1800 with two 1600x900 monitors stacked with number 1 on top i have 1camera.lua copied into savedgames/dcsworld/config/monitorsetup...only editing I did was screen width and height and then add gui width and height to be 1600x900....everything works great in single player and when it works in multi...well it works...so I dont think its my lua file screwing with me (i've read muli monitors for dummies have a couple lua files with exported abrims and shkval, all works fine....but I curently run the single viewport lua because I like the single big screen) just updated to sept2013 nvidia betas....will see if I have to keep deleting network files.... I deleted and repaired my whole config file through the dcs installer already is hope it would fix this....... I understand that running two monitors instead of three is a bit different because my total res isnot suported by nvidia surround, but I have a custom res created and it shows up in all games and worked just fine in 1.25 the game still lauches fine...no crashes or freezes (multi player unstable....but thats another thread)....I dont know why 1.26 hates my multi player gui....
-
deleting my network and network.vault in saved games/config then launching the multi exe through the single player gui is the only way for me to avoid this..... and I have to delete those files everytime I leave or log off and have them rebuilt.... on a side note.....the logging name and password text doesnt line up with the gui perfectly anymore.....its like half a line too high...i can still read it and edit it....its just like the overlay for the text is slightly off

every server up right now that actually have clients on it show a mission time of 40 minute or less....tonight every server I was on (STP and S77th) crashed every 30-40 minutes into missions.. servers had 20- 35 ppl online when "server ping timeouts" drop all 30 clients at once...... like I said...after looking down the list of available servers, only a couple locked 2-3 client servers and empty servers had a mission time of more the 30 mins +- somethings certianly going on
