    try the repair function first........windows start menu/all programs/Eagle Dynamics/DCS world/Repair DCS World.exe if you cant find it...just do a windows search for the Repair exe...

  3. trial traffic.miz I cant get this to work...I'm trying to use mist3.2....heres a . miz of my try...i change the spawn to 30,60 to be able to run trail/error
  4. was trying out the new High water reflections...all worked well...then I hit the NAV button on the Abris look at the map, and when I switched to the map page , all the water reflections started flickering.....I turned the abriss to the next page and the flickering stopped....I cycled though the pages back to the map and the reflections all started flickering again..... ...switched to med and low water....had no problems.... ....if someone else could try this to see if its just me or if it can be reproduced by others......pick a mission by the coast...preferably a part of the coast with mountains....fly out to sea and look back to land.....with water on high you should have some bad ass land reflections...now switch to the moving map page on the abris and see if the reflections start to flickering.... ...if this is a know issues, i apologize for the repeat post....thz beforehand to any who try to reproduce....
  5. I'm not the mission editor guy, but since no one has answered yet....you are correct, static objects dont seem to template like the planes, helos, and ground units.....

DCS doesnt know anything about monitors....you must speak in "Viewports".....and yes, you can adjust the viewports to be whatever size or pixel per pixel combination you want.... .....a very basic way to learn DCS view is to follow this walkthrough ( http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89282 ) by PeterP to see the changes...whether you want or keep the changes should not matter...once you learn the viewports system you will like DCS leaps and bounds over other simulators http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96116 <----- this is another good read because he explains how to make an angle position and FOV setting ingame the default setting...instead of having to adjust your view everytime you spawn ingame.....once again, you dont need the mod for this to work, he is explaining how DCS works so ppl can make the most of his mod...

  9. without documents other then wikipedia, this is a mute point.....like I said, missile range is a topic that is as old as combat sims themselves....real range and p/k data is not available and any real information is either a leak in classified data or just one persons opinion....I'm guessing that under threat of death you are not leaking classified info and that the info you posted is downgrades specs released to the public on the wiki threads....no matter what the case, i can say that the aim120c ingame does not have exact flight charactoristics or flight data...no matter how close they get it...until the 120 is so obsolete that you can buy them at the local gunshops and flea markets, it will never be true to life in this game... ...the best thing to do is not study real data, but to study the data (may be real) that the game was made with and the missile that is actually ingame...learn the tools you are playing with, instead of their real life counterparts....after all, it is just a game (?)...
  10. ok, instead of being a smart ass all day...I went ingame and can say, 'I do have the trimmer sounds.".....first thing I would do is check to make sure you are keybound to the trimmer like before the patch....next, I would do a repair, in the windows start menu, under all programs, in the Eagle Dynamics folder/DCS World/ Repair DCS World..... ...after that if still no sound come here and report your pc type, OS type, mods installed...blah, blah blah.....

Look harder...the encyclopedia is far more inaccurate then what you have currently found... and you say a 120c should go 110km....68 miles....boy, i sure hope you have paperwork to back that up...they have been arguing over the missile ranges since 1985...now that your here you can set this whole thing straight....could also be useful to the boys over at the BMS forums to see these documents also....
  13. holy crap...does it burn aviation fuel....I bet if thrown it would fly....turn downwind, lower flaps and gear, land and taxi....did he need to get a FCC licence....is it approved for use in the US.... lol...made from manilla folders...lol \ I'm going to have to change my sig to....It only takes two things to fly, time and cardboard....

  15. some dont like it....but I'm a believer, the AP system is the best and most useful system on the Blackshark....learning to hold the trimmer and the collective brake while maneuvering makes it to where you dont need to turn off the AP channels to fly aggressively.....everything ppl are doing with the AP off can be done if the AP is used correctly.....sad to say though, for most ppl, the bad habits have all ready taken over, and they will never want to learn the AP system or try to use it correctly.... ...there is nothing you can do with the AP off, that I cant do by simply holding the trimmer or collective brake....and when the maneuver is done, i let go of the trimmer and brake, the heli goes completely stable...you finish your wild maneuver and you are still as out of control in level flight as you were a minute ago when you were doing loops.... ...oh well, AP usage is way off topic anyways...this point has been proven in the trimmer threads and in the "collective brake, and when to use it" thread...

I normally (sad to say, I take alot of damage, stupid rocket runs) can take damage, lose hydros, turn 180 while diving to the deck, level the helo in uncontrolled flight, do a look at the AP and hydro gauges, jettison all weapons, lower gear, establish a RTB direction and start to change course, in under 10-15 seconds....then fly for another 3 mins before total hydro and engine failure.... I say all this because your telling me not to worry about the weapons because I have to FLY, FLY, FLY....I'm saying its not a big deal...I am flying....maybe not in total control, but I got it under control....AND, I get to pickle all my stores on purpose...its not that I have to...its that I like to...and it looks cool too... ...so like I said, drop stores, gear down, crash in 300 yards....just like i planned it....

I'm with number3...jettison all weapons so your lighter and put gear down asap before all hydros are lost... if any of them are still on.....centering the AP systems then turning them off and going to manual flight can sometimes be better then waiting for the remaining systems to fail because when they go it leaves you surprised and untrimmed
  18. I had to manually force an update...C:program files/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/ update DCS world exe. downloading now....I also noticed the updater updated....so that may be why some arnt getting an auto update...
  19. to the OP...spoiler alert...DCS will do a P-51, a Combined Arms, a FC3 addon, and many more 3rd party addons before any F-16....GET OVER IT...in about 4/5 years from your post you can download and play BMS4.0 for all your f-16 needs...it will be updated to DX9 and have a fullyclickable cockpit with selfcasting shadows...Good Luck to you and your 2008 high hopes..
  20. not sure what your getting at...I said, AS OF NOW, DCS is a fight sim.....anyone who thinks this is a foolish statement, has never played it....AS of RIGHT NOW...DCS is a flight sim with the ability to move ground forces...nothing more... ...good luck proving otherwise....just because they say they are a total war simulator...doesn't make it so....I can say Call of Duty is a political real time strategy...but I'm guessing anyone thats actually played it will have a different opinion.....as they say, "proof is in the pudding"..... the quote you link is also not true...although it IS a look to the future and an advertisement for things to come...but...AS OF RIGHT NOW (1/19/14)...you cannot (outside of the mission editior) control or direct civilian aircraft or naval units....you cannot (with or with out the editior), play in different locations or time eras.....AS OF CURRENT...DCS IS A FIGHT SIM WITH THE ABILITY TO MOVE /DIRECT GROUND UNITS
  21. not much has been said about 1.5, just that improvements ARE being looked at, and a CA 1.5 will be available one day....remember, as of current, DCS is a flight sim...CA is an addition to that...you may never see a first person POV or cockpit system developed...I personally would love it if a 3rd party attempted a low fidelity DCS: M1A1 Abrams or a DCS: T-72....or anything along those lines....a DCS: ATC or DCS:Ground Crew could all be very low fidelity, yet EXTREMELY cool addition to online play.... as of now CA is a unit mover/ RTS ...most current missions aren't really built for CA alone...its mostly a device to give you, the pilot of a airframe, the option to advance the battlefield when needed, or you, the mission builder, a free'er hand in what types of missions you build and play ....and ofcourse the hopes are its main objective is to lay the ground work for additional ground addons and improvements....first person view....downed pilot capabilities and rescue...loading and unloading of supply and transport vehicles....hopefully one day amphibious operations through CA to build upon the naval aspect and the F-18... ....probably another year till we see any real direction from anything related to CA...then however long it takes to actually move in that direction....

  23. I always wondered why we dont put our fighter gatlin/vulcan cannons on a gimble...even 10 or 15 degrees of computer control would stop you from having to be perfect "nose on lead" to score a kill shot....just get it within the gimble limits and let the computer do the rest....
  24. the unmanning of some current aircraft would lead to a higher lvl of air superiority...no more human "G" limits...we already build stuff far more capable then ourselves...this is why Skynet wins the war....manned F-16 vs ummaned F-16 = dead man
