  1. Way to not read the thread
  2. Way to not read the thread
  3. I can boot from USB, and install or repair Windows from it.
  4. Antec New TP650W I know it's not strictly...logical...to be bothered by a single optical drive. I literally didn't use the drive at all for 2 years straight when it was plugged in, so I just took it out. It's like wearing gloves if you live on the sun.
  5. But if even the original? I'm not a nibby little flub...
  6. I know that part, but if the disk had any sort of copy protection that was bypassed in producing the ISO, it would appear to be a downloaded naughty boy copy :( Thanks chaps, off to ISO that mofo.
  7. Hi folks. I had to dig out my DVD drive and put it on cardboard to install Lock On MAC, just to install FC3 again after reinstalling Windows. I install Win7 from a USB stick (I'm a boss). If I made an ISO of my LOMAC disk, could I install from that and then install FC3 without being falsely flagged for piracy? I always roll without a DVD drive, it's 2013 gosh darn it! Also I don't like it drawing power for no reason when it gets used once every 3 years, but more the 2013 thing. Disk drives are for drippy little spaffs. They don't think it be like it is, but it do:
  8. That gave me a boner.
  9. I had a similar issue. All I did was delete the DCS folder from My Documents, when you start DCS World after deleting that folder it will be rebuilt. Try that before reinstalling windows.
  10. For me it's all on Core 1 and 2. Isn't the sim on core 1 and the sound processor on core 2? Or did they optimise it somewhat and scale it across further cores?
  11. Tested it myself :) Obviously PhysX was off and stuff, and certain scenes will most likely cause slowdowns. I played through a level (forget which one) with plenty of tessellated surfaces (an assumption) and some lovely fog effects combined with the DoF. Looking forward to playing through again from start to finish. i5 2500k@4.4GHz 16GB RAM 2x AMD HD 7870 2GB CrossFire with 13.2 BETA drivers. Funnily nough, MOH Warhead would microstutter like crazy with the 6870s with any settings (even low/no MSAA), yet works fine with these 78XXs with 4xMSAA and everything Ultra/High. Could be driver side fixes of course.
  12. Do you mean the trimmer is actually moving the yoke left? If your weapon weights are unbalanced between the wings, the AC will always turn towards its heaviest side. You have to compensate accordingly with manual trim.
  13. I'd rather have great Xfire performance across the board than sacrifice it for 1 strong card. While DCS is my primary focus, I play other games. Anyway, I got the second card today, haven't got time for flying yet. But put it this way: Metro 2033 @ 1920x1080, Ultra High Settings, DX11 with 4xMSAA = solid 60fps OC'ed the cards slightly to 1100mhz GPU clock and 1300mHz memory (stock were 1000 and 1200 respectively), just for giggles. Both still stay at around 60*C under load, probably going to undo that as such little boost will probably give negligible performance increases.
  14. Sometimes the original files would stop progressing. The instructor would stop talking and never come back. Ever. The updated files fix this issue, and I imagine it will also be fixed in the next update of the A-10C module. Here's the download page: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/250461/
  15. I'll give that a shot tomorrow when my second card arrives, given that I need to reinstall the drivers anyway for that event. Will report back when able.
  16. If you ever get frustrated with the steep learning curve, watch something like this: This always reminds me how powerful DCS A-10C is when you take the time to learn the beast thoroughly.
  17. My Dad works for the FBI and he hacked the lead developers iPad using a GUI interface he wrote in Visual Basic. He said that DCS is secretly creating a 6DOF cockpit model of the Space Shuttle Endeavour that will be in the next update, and making space physics. Don't tell anyone though, it's a big secret.
  18. I got one of my two new 7870 2GBs today, single card performance is now perfect in all situations in DCS modules. The 6870 was holding me back, as it apparently also did in other single card games like ARMA2. The difference is immense. Was using the latest drivers and Xfire profiles. Can't wait to get my second card now :D Went from 5-7fps with no MSAA on the ground to 25-30 with 2xMSAA, which is stable enough to feel nice and smooth and look great at 1080p.
  19. Great links, thank you, Sir.
  20. If it's an upgrade then the registry will be intact so you shouldn't need to deactivate.
  21. To that end, is CCIP-CR considered 'non-standard'?
  22. Had a similar experience, also happened the same day I got TrackIR5 It was a great day.
  23. I said in the post you replied to that I had an X52 :) No harm no foul, and I do appreciate you trying to help.
  24. Nope. I actually tested my sim, it makes no difference whether the X52 is plugged in with a profile loaded, without a profile loaded and with it unplugged. Furthermore, the X52 does not support FFB. The feedback option can NOT even be enabled and therefore can not affect FPS in any way.
  25. Saitek X52, doesn't make a difference :) Tested all possiblities. I'm just going to upgrade my GPU back to a single powerful card and see if that helps.
